New Fantastic Four Trailer

I guess the most likely scenario is that it under-performs at the box office and/or gets critically mauled, and Fox either sell the rights back to Marvel or they reach a shared ownership agreement like they did with Sony. But I don't think they're gonna do that lightly.

Apparently the relationship between Fox and Marvel has broken down over the years to such an extent that they don't actually communicate that much anymore. Though to be fair no studio in town has that great a relationship with Fox

I just don't see a situation where Fox would want to share X-Men to the point that they would happily cut loose the F4 so that they can continue to do as they please with X-Men.

Besides, a brightly coloured, 'faithful' F4 adaptation would probably fit better in the MCU than what Fox is doing with their Marvel IPs.

I'm not sure if this has been posted but back in June there were some test screenings and the reaction seems to have been a positive one. Don't be so quick to judge the film before you see it.

Well, looks like it may be good after all.

Yeah, I thought that was the situation. I'm saying that Fox might cut their losses with FF and sell it back to Marvel, not that they'll ever sell X-Men. I assume they need to keep making standalone FF films in order to keep the license, so they can't just plant them into the next X-Men film in a mini-crossover? I thought with other Marvel properties like Spider-Man, Blade, Ghost Rider etc the rights reverted to Marvel if the studio in question didn't make a new film every 4 years, but it's been 8 years since the last FF movie.

Both pretty good movies. Not outright terrible like some what you to believe on here.

Trailers have looked good. Not sold on that goofy looking Doom though.

If ASM2 was so good, there'd be no need to reboot the series. The first one was good, the second... urgh. Again, I blame the change of writers, though. Orci and Kurtzmann should never be put in change or a big series... EVER!

MoS, I don't think it's as bad as others claim it to be. It entertained me.

Is better to frame Man of Steel as divide really he he.

ASM2 had really bad test screenings, so this bodes well for fantastic four

lol. That's terrible logic.

ASM2 had bad test screenings so it was a bad movie. Fantastic Four had positive test screenings so it will be a good movie. lol no. There are plenty of films that have had screenings go both ways and that doesn't serve as an indicator of anything.

I didn't say its going to be good, just that's its some positive news. Thought I was pretty clear IMO

Just got back from seeing antman and noticed that in the trailer for F4 the scene were thing throws the tank turret and it explodes into confetti has been edited so it just shows him throwing the turret and it not landing . Kinda stuck out to me because nothing else from the trailer was removed ,

There's a wire attached to the tank if you look close enough
Is that explosion and CGI for real...? I can do that in After Effect with Video Copilot. The tank piece just disappears the moment the explosion happens instead of making it look like it impacted the ground and blew up.

I have a feeling the effect is unfinished, mostly because they still have to add this:

Hah hah, yeah. It's video game logic, how it explodes because... things explode when you throw them up, 100% of the time (same when a car crashes in a movie, it will always blow up), and how after the totally generic explosion effect the object seems to have vaporized?

Am I the only one who looks at this movie and is reminded of Ang Lee's Hulk?

Apart from the fluorescent green, the action scenes in Ang Lee's Hulk look way better than this. I mean, I'm not going to defend that whole movie, but the twenty-minute action scene in the middle is still pretty rad.

I personally don't really have an opinion on the the Bana, Norton or Ruffalo. But a lot of people would call calling Bana best Banner is fightin words

Bana Banner was the best at suppressed rage. Dude looked like he was barely in control, and I loved it.

Edward Norton was...Edward Norton, I guess?

Ruffalo was great, but Age of Ultron left a sour taste in my mouth. The movie was so bland, I'm starting to hate everyone inside it.

How do you turn one of Marvel's deepest, most iconic and downright amazing villains into this trash?

I don't understand why everyone wants to keep changing what Doom actually is. Doom as he is would work SO WELL for movies. He's such an incredible villain.

Looks like it takes the slightly different plot of the ULTIMATE fantastic four comic (although even the first attempt fox had did this a little bit) and tells basically the same story as the original fantastic four film with a C list cast and a lower budget.

I predict box office doldrums , not total disaster but I think fox will quietly cancel the planned sequel and try again in 9 years and 11 months and 29 days just to hold on to the rights. I think honestly, that they don't care about keeping them but they want something out of disney/marvel before they'll hand them back.

Do you know what C-list is? The cast is pretty good, especially when you consider theyre a younger lot.
