New Fantastic Four Trailer

Like I said when I saw the first trailer. It looks like someone wanted to make Fantastic Four into Metal Gear Fantastic Four. This is now more evident to me considering those virals.
I'm Metal Gear GAF, but those virals are terribly done. I have no idea how anyone could ok those. The footage is straight from the movie, and the guy had terrible lines to read.

posters in my city saying the movie is out now, check out theatres and they say it releases in a week
how can you mess up so badly

The fact that The Punisher is a part of Kingpin's financial ledger is even funnier.

There could a be an interesting story there. Taskmaster supplies bodies to supervillians, the tinker provides tech, The Power Broker provides super powers, etc. There got to be super villain real estate agents, accountants, file clerks, etc.

Hell Victoria Hand was a super villain office manger during Dark Reign.

Dracula hates Muslims

well they keep trying to fuck his country up lol. Really though thats a free reference to the Vlad Tepesh of course you take that, the more baffling part is where Dr Doom calls it racism, Muslim is not a race last i checked anyone could be "muslim" .

Could do a whole series based on the behind the scenes guys to the villains. Each issue following a different part of the hierarchy. For instance, follow the guy who does Kingpin's tailoring and all the shit he puts up with.

I believe there is a mini that follows two...logistics/desk jjockeys that work for either hydra or aim , they do the business side of things...maybe it was just a part of a bigger book though.

We should probably save that for when the reviews come out. The movie turning out good would render that title redundant.

Could be changed to "The Fantastic 4 out of 4 stars" then.
Could also be "The Fantastic 4% on Metacritic" :)

Let's hope not.

A quick search on Twitter shows some positive impressions coming from that screening tonight, this guy retweeted some of them

Been rooting for this movie, i believed in Trank from when he signed on, i thought from Chronicle alone he showed such great promise, so i've been hoping he'd pull through, i these reactions seem to be a good sign so far.

also while i'm still here 2 more things: the Phillip Glass/Marco Beltrami score is pretty incredible; and Disney is directly promoting this movie on the Disney Channel

I guess Fox and Marvel/Disney's relationship isn't as hostile as it appeared to be? It's weird because Disney Channel does these style of promos for the last few MCU films, but none for any Fox Marvel movies like the past few X-movies or such. Huh. Y'know i read some crazy bs sounding rumor earlier this month that Marvel and Fox's relationship was being repaired and that they were negotiating to do an Avengers Vs X-Men movie in like 2020 or some shit. I didn't believe it at all, but it sounds a little....intriguing now after this recent discovery.

Uh, because Disney is letting Fox buy ad space on their channels?

Eh, normally the early tweets would be reassuring, but then I remember TASM2. That & the fact that Fox isn't lifting the review embargo until the Wednesday of release has me concerned. As such, I'm gonna wait until after opening weekend for more reviews before I go see the movie. Hopefully it turns out good.

As for the other tidbit about Disney, that's actually a bit interesting if they & Fox are really trying to mend the fences. This would bode well for the future of the X-Men & the F4 outside of the comics, since they're currently being shoved into the corner in that regard. Not sure if the ads alone mean anything, & I'm pretty sure those Avengers vs. X-Men rumors were B.S., regardless.

I think expectation for this movie has been pretty low, it only need to be decent for people to met their expectation or even be pleasantly surprised.

Fair point, I guess that's the benefit of most people having low expectations. Though if the movie really did turn out good, I wouldn't be surprised if Fox moves up the embargo end date a little more to generate some hype.

Aim bigger, Man of Steel levels of Divisive

I feel like the movie isn't going to make enough money to warrant that sort of discussion.

For the record -- I think Iron Man 3 is great, and Man of Steel is sub-par.

Edit: It's truly crazy that this movie (in my opinion) has one of the best casts of any superhero movie.

Miles Teller (Whiplash), Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station), Kate Mara (House of Cards), Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot -- not as high profile as the other stuff, but I really like it), and Toby Kebbell (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes -- as Koba, which was a fucking great villain performance, albeit mocap)

This thread is all doom and gloom.

Let's look for some positives:

+ Soundtrack by the incredible Philip Glass
+ Positive reactions to screenings so far (looking at twitter and other places)

Also first review from screening:

The movie is not even close to being horrible. In fact, it really is on borderline of really good and great. The biggest achievement of this movie is them trying to create characters that you care about, and that was the biggest goal of this movie. It wasn't to execute the direction, but to make sure these characters can be likable to audiences. Now of course, a lot of Marvel fanboys will hope and pray it fails but if you do keep an open mind it is an intriguing vision of the Fantastic Four that not only gives you a movie with good action and heart, but it for sure does not feel like a tragic drama at all.
For people who actually considered giving this movie a chance, I trust you do so. I know it isn't like the comics, or hell even the Ultimates even; but it does something truly unique for superhero movies. I don't believe it sent it back, but it honestly sent it forward into possibilities for other superheroes movies.

3.7/5

And yet most of them look completely out of place.

I'm sure it'll be a solid movie, but I don't think there's much interest in the movie from the general public. I think they're only hope is word of mouth, the trailers have not sold people.

Really? That's an achievement now? Trying to make you care about characters? Trying? This would imply they've tried and failed, but hey at least they tried!

ASM2 had positive early tweets as well, and I left the movie feeling used and abused and filthy, a and not in the good way.
