Enter The Gungeon |OT| Praise the gun

I had to enable v-sync cause it was causing my fans to over work due to temps. I tried with nvidia inspector but didn't see the game in the list.

This game is so rad.

I've always enjoyed games like Binding of Isaac and Spelunky in theory, but most games like them have always had a few little things between them that I didn't enjoy that kept me from putting a lot of time into them. The parts of this game so far is like the best of all of these different games put together in a new package that really appeals to me, so I can see myself playing this one for a long time to come.

I'm so bad at this game, but I'm enjoying it!

I got to the 2nd level and there was 2 locked chests despite having no key drops yet, some big robot guy thing behind a locked door, and the only store entrance was blocked. What gives?

Got destroyed by the
Wallmonger
on 4th floor.

Also found
a secret floor, called the oubliette after activating a hidden switch behind a fireplace and using 2 keys to open a grate.

Super fun game so far :D

Has anyone tried Beast Mode? It's an option under Gameplay

I've been playing on "Beastmode" for the last 4 runs I did and I'm not really sure what exactly it does... I think the floors are larger and some enemies from later floors show up early but not sure if I'm just imaging things.
It doesn't really feel that much different so it might just be imagination, I'm not that familiar with the level generator yet to really tell.

I am so glad I decided to preorder this game. Sometimes you can just tell a game is going to be amazing before you even play it. This was one of those for me.

I grabbed the cigarrettes, active item that says "can be hazardous to health"

I used it

I died

i'd spoiler this but it might piss you off on a run rather than make you laugh, lol.

But what if it's random, and the other possibility is a Vanquish-style temporary distraction?

I'd be tough for that to make me mad, since, you know, it's exactly what you'd expect from the description.

That's like getting mad at Suicide King in Isaac.

Thats a plausible situation but only if it lets you subsequently rocket slide into the enemy, flip off the enemy and pull off a headshot in slow motion.

Really loving this game so far.
Probably gonna keep me away from Isaac for a very long time.

Love finding all the new weapons and everytime I think I found the best one yet!
My favorite so far is the shotgun full of hate!

And the hunter is my favorite because of that crossbow. It's just such a good starting weapon....

I can already tell this is a good roguelite. My only concern so far is that keys drop way too rarely. Pretty often I'll be on the second floor and not be able to open any chests because not a single key has dropped. It's very possible that, like I'm Isaac, resources become much easier to come by once you learn a few tricks, so I'll reserve judgement for now.

I feel like it might have another usage.. some hidden usage.
But I'm not gonna chance it, because it's too risky.

weird room with just a couple mine carts:

there's "secret" rails, as in, invisible ones. there's a pattern to follow by jumping in each mine cart (rolling into them) to get to the top part of the room. You get different types of gunpowder there, which im still not sure what they do

The Alphabet gun is definitely a favorite of those that I've encountered so far. The feedback reminds me of Halo's Needler when all the letters cluster on an enemy.

Smoking makes you cool. You should keep doing it. People won't think you're cool unless you smoke cigarettes.

damn! i keep dying in the 2nd area. i had the boss door, decided to keep exploring, and fell into a pit.. lol.

great game so far.

I imagine the cigarettes might be useful for the Prisoner given her passive is to boost damage when damaged. Though so far recovery items or abilities are a bit on the rare side so might not be that ideal.

- give 2 weapons to weapon muncher. got burnt with shitty weapon last time

- munches the 2 guns, gives back a Banana

- lol yeah another shitty joke weapon

*shoot it*

... holy shit

This is one videogame-ass videogame and I love it so much. So glad I got the soundtrack too, the theme song that plays in the main menu is my new ear worm

Hunter: Very strong early game, passive with animal is very infrequent, lacks lake game passives to make this a great character.

Pilot: Nice mix of having additional active with very useful lock pick, difficult early game with inaccurate starting weapon and tiny clip. Shop passive is useful

Game is nails hard so far, but boy does a scratch an itch I didn't know I had.

I mentioned this back a bit in the thread, but I wanted to ask again: is anyone else having issues with rumble activating and then not going away properly in this game? I'm using an Xbox Elite controller and the issue is very annoying. I'd love it if anyone had ideas of how to fix it.

This game is fucking incredible.

My first gun pickup was the mother fucking
Mega Buster
and was reading the Ammunomicon and saw the
ZF1 from The Fifth Element
. This game is legit.

Personally the convict is my favorite so far. The sawed-off is a nice powerful weapon, and the attack boost when damage is pretty useful

Rough day. My router is acting all fucked up. Now I update gungeon, play 10 seconds, the game completely locks up my system. I reboot, now my ssd isn't being detected lol

yisss knew it

shooting a pile of water with an electric weapon electrifies the whole pond killin everyone

edit: UGH FUCKING FIFTH FLOOR

Same issue here. Other people reported the same thing in a Steam thread, even with standard XBone controllers. I suggest disabling rumble.

yeah I cant figure out secret doors

the time I saw a cracked one was by chance

I get the map at the shop, see there's a secret room

then I go to the adjacent ones and shoot at every tile. nothing. (im on a floor without fireplace so its not THAT secret room)

I assume there's tells, like in Isaac and such

but as of now I have no idea how to get to them, really missin that in this game

Blanks destroy walls. I had gotten a map to a level, and was able to crack a wall with the crossbow, but the blank destroyed the wall and opened a passage to the secret room

yeah, figured that one out

but when I see those secret rooms on the map, no matter which wall I shoot none shows up cracked, that kinda thing

God damnit. I made it to the 4th (or maybe 5th) area boss, I hit the map button to dodge and I died when the boss had one hit left. I keep doing that too, wanting to press L2 to dodge.

The Blooper is OP as hell. It basically one shots everything. The M1 Garand is 'boring' but damn good too.

I think I read somewhere (probably this thread) that the cracks only show up if shot by a gun that doesn't have infinite ammo, Were you using that type of gun?
