Montreal actually played Washington pretty well this year, didn't they?
Won 2, lost 2. Each one won one in OT/SO.

I'm going to say :

Montreal - Wash
Montreal in 6 Hometown Discount
NJ - Philly
NJ in 5 Boucher meltdown
Buff - Boston
Buff in 6 ZZZZzzzz
Pitt - Ott
Pitt in 5 Elliott killed by puck overdose

SJ - Col
SJ in 6 Colorado's virgin ass is tough
Chi - Nash
Chi in 4 The only one they'll win
Van - L.A.
Van in 6 Twins rape everyone till the finals
Det - Pho
Det in 7 Go on to kill SJ

Stars in 6 :(

I'm depressed... again. Well not really, the season seemed like it ended forever ago in Dallas. I'm waiting until the second round to pick.

(1) Washington vs (8) Montreal - 6 games
(2) New Jersey vs (7) Philadelphia - 7 games
(3) Buffalo vs (6) Boston - 6 games
(4) Pittsburgh vs (5) Ottawa - 6 games

(1) San Jose vs (8) Colorado - 5 games
(2) Chicago vs (7) Nashville - 4 games (i hate all of you)
(3) Vancouver vs (6) Los Angeles - 6 games
(4) Phoenix vs (5) Detroit - 6 games

I can see upsets with Boston and Philly advancing. If you go by the season series between the two.

With that said, I'm gonna post my official predictions shortly.

(EDIT: Confused Nashville, they lost the season series 4-2)

I forgot to mention, Nashville vs Chicago could be a long series if only for the fact that they've got the edge in goaltending and defense and their team will throw the body around Chicago.

If the Hawks advance, it'll be a difficult series that will come at a price.

Get that shit outta here

And here come the torrent of "fans"

Someone signal Marty Chin that it's ok to post now

What the hell's this supposed to mean. All I know is I've been a Flyers fan since birth. I''d think there would be more penguins "fans" considering they only times they were ever competitive was when they had Lemieux and when they had Crosby. It seems like there has been a large influx of "fans" of the pens lately.

so glad caps got habs. They play an offensive style that makes for some great goals. Rangers on the other hand are a boring team with lundqvist capable for stealing games.

FUCK IT! Time to go crazy up in this bitch!

Predictions:

Western Conference:
San Jose (1) vs Colorado (8) - San Jose in 5
Chicago (2) vs Nashville (7) - Chicago in 6
Vancouver (3) vs Los Angeles (6) - Vancouver in 7
Phoenix (4) vs Detroit (5) - Detroit in 6

Eastern Conference
Washington (1) vs Montreal (8) - Montreal in 7 (A man can dream. can he not?!)
New Jersey (2) vs Philadelphia (7) - New Jersey in 6
Buffalo (3) vs Boston (6) - Buffalo in 6
Pittsburgh (4) vs Ottawa (5) - Pittsburgh in 6

So glad Sid got his Rocket Richard trophy and finished second in the Art Ross, but I have the worst feeling in the world going into these playoffs. We haven't beat a playoff team since early March for fuck's sake. Here's hoping they can flip the switch and deprive the Caps of another Stanley Cup chance...

They can, and they will.

I have to agree there... but playoff hockey is an entirely different beast. As long as Fleury keeps his head on straight and Letang cuts out all those ugly giveaways he's been prone to lately, we should be fine. So excited.

LETS GO PENS

Eastern Conference
(1) Washington vs (8) Montreal
Caps in 5
(2) New Jersey vs (7) Philadelphia
Devils in 5
(3) Buffalo vs (6) Boston
B's in 7
(4) Pittsburgh vs (5) Ottawa
Pens in 6

Western Conference
(1) San Jose vs (8) Colorado
Sharks in 5
(2) Chicago vs (7) Nashville
Hawks in 6
(3) Vancouver vs (6) Los Angeles
Canucks in 6
(4) Phoenix vs (5) Detroit
Wings in 7

Predictions time!

Western Conference

San Jose Sharks vs Colorado Avalanche :: Sharks in 5 games.
Chicago Blackhawks vs Nashville Predators :: Blackhawks in 6 games.
Vancouver Canucks vs Los Angeles Kings :: Canucks in 5 games.
Phoenix Coyotes vs Detroit Red Wings :: Coyotes in 7 games.

Eastern Conference

Washington Capitals vs Montreal Canadiens :: Capitals in 6 games.
New Jersey Devils vs Philadelphia Flyers :: Flyers in 7 games.
Buffalo Sabres vs Boston Bruins :: Bruins in 7 games.
Pittsburgh Penguins vs Ottawa Senators :: Penguins in 6 games.

Only time will tell how accurate we all are.

Also, I won't lie, I actually cried a little bit during the Edmonton @ Anaheim game tonight.

Selanne and Neidermayer doing a lap around the rink at the end got me thinking about just how excellent they've been for Anaheim. From cup, to contenders, to this catastrophic season.. I love them both incredibly.

This was my Modano moment.

I hope they come back. They can't end on this note, but at the same time, I can't blame them if they do leave..

Teemu Selanne. Thank you. You were my first favorite Duck and always will be. You are an absolute fucking aspiration for any hockey player and fan. You're a class act on and off the ice. Your 'stick rifle' pose will forever be etched in every hockey afficionados brain. If you don't get the Bill Masteron trophy, I'm going to burn something down, there is no other nominee who is more worthy of it.

Scott, I can't say enough good words about you. The love you have for Rob is admirable. The dedication you have for Anaheim and for Canada is leaps and bounds above anything anyone else in this club has given. You're a role model for all defenseman not just here, but in the NHL. You've been a terrific Captain and give me nothing but reasons to respect you.

EDIT: Eugh, what am I saying.. They'll be back. They gotta be.

GO SENS GO

Losing Kovalev for the playoffs sucks, but who gives a shit. If Elliot plays good, then Ottawa has a great chance at this series. Get ready for Alfie, he is gonna be a beast. Super excited.

You guys are DUE. I'll be rooting for Sharks in the west, Caps in the east. Besides the fact that I actually like both teams, they also both have ex-Jackets. Go Chimera!

Whats wrong with Versus?

So does anyone with the NHL Gamecenter streaming package know how it works for playoff games? I don't have CI this year so for those of us in the US will we be able to see the games that aren't on TV on gamecenter?

It's amazing how they have a roster of Stamkos, StLouis, Lecalvier, Malone, Downie, Hedman, Foster and they can't even crack the playoffs.

Hedman really wasnt that impressive this season. They have a strong top 6 but then after that their forwards go downhill fast. There defense is pretty bad and their goaltending is inconsistent.

Eastern Conference
(1) Washington vs (8) Montreal - Washington in 5
(2) New Jersey vs (7) Philadelphia - New Jersey in 6
(3) Buffalo vs (6) Boston - Buffalo in 7 Longest most boring series ever ending with a triple overtime 2-1 win by Buffalo
(4) Pittsburgh vs (5) Ottawa Pittsburgh in 5

Western Conference
(1) San Jose vs (8) Colorado - San Jose in 5
(2) Chicago vs (7) Nashville - Chicago in 5
(3) Vancouver vs (6) Los Angeles - Los Angeles in 6
(4) Phoenix vs (5) Detroit - Detroit in 6

Not a single game of the Devils/Flyers series on VERSUS.

fucking travesty. I see an upset over the Devils. Flyers played voraciously to the last against the Rangers. they did not rattle.

I like your avatar. I picture him being castrated by Bobby Clarke using a rusty skate.

And yet another year of Nothing But Crosby in 2010-2011. When the Wings get eliminated my new favorite team will be: Whoever plays Pittsburgh.

I hope somebody from another team steps up big in the postseason and makes a name for himself. Bettman's marketing is so unbelievably bad that I think it's come to the point where the players are going to have to do it themselves.

I disagree. For a d-man jumping straight into the NHL from the draft, he looked very impressive (most of the time) to me.
Remember d-men take longer to develop than forwards. Hedman will be a great player.

Oh, and now that the NeoGAG Regular Season Pool is over, I would just like to wonder wtf is up with the point systems. Little did I know that until half way into the season that PIMs were actually a bad thing!
