So it doesn't get to you even a teeny tiny little bit when someone says "YEAH GO BULLS WOOO", then sees Omer Asik and says "wait who's that white guy?"

Well, yeah, if they are fools it can be painful to watch but if they start paying attention and following the team instead of just their star player, I am cool with that or at least not going to go out of way to care about it.

I agree, too many sticks up the asses here.

I've liked the Bulls since the Oakley/Orlando Woolridge days(Dave Corzine too) but I am too old to take offense to a young whippersnapper that gets into a club because a player excites him.

Maybe it takes a certain player to get someone into basketball period.

That can only be a good thing.

Always knew basketball excited but never watched a match, untill i heard a lot of things on the news about kobe and shaw and saw them play. That got me in to the game of basketball. It was so much different than soccer because each play could be a highlight. And from there on i just kept watching games and became a fan.

I think the bigger problem is people who only show support when their team matters. It's fine if you pick a team originally even if it's because of one player with me, so long as you stick with them the rest of the way and still maintain a legit fanhood.

But people who stop caring when the team sucks and only cares when they're good are annoying.

Is watching the lakers even with luke walton in the line up not paying your dues ( or how ever you spell it).

Hell yeah, him and Marcus Fizer, lol. I remember in one of those press conferences back then, one of those young Bulls claimed to be the next Jordan, lol.

Well, he could kind of jump out of the gym, he just couldn't do much else.

A true bandwagon fan is the one that denounces their team as soon as they start losing a couple of games then sing them praises when they start winning again (which I gotta admit describes about 70% of Heat fans)

Bulls back up C, from turkey or something. Big body, plays hard, has the voice of satan, can't catch a ball for shit or finish, but rebounds well and plays ok D.

I think it just pains me the most when bandwagoners try to talk like they know the details of the team, but then end up saying something completely contradictory to the actual truth. My brother is a huge culprit of this.

I'm a bandwagon Blackhawks fan, but I don't try to talk as if I know technicalities of hockey. If they score a goal, I'm happy. If they don't, then I just say, damn that sucks.

He can finish now.

Not all the time but he's gotten much better at it.

He doesn't even travel while shuffling his feet or putting the ball on the floor(no idea why guys like him do that) right near the basket anymore.

This thread has made me reminisce about the Ron Mercer days. He had a pretty good year for that team. That young team was always full of potential that they seemed to love to trade away, lol. Then, of course, there was that period where they refused to trade anyone.

Yeah, it can depend on how they go about it for sure.

Late in the regular season (like last 10 games) he got some burn, and he still couldn't catch passes from rose or anyone. Having good hands can make or break a big, Amare for example has fantastic hands and can catch the ball if its within 5 meters of him, same with blake griffin. Its ok, thats not his job, you don't have to defend everyone.

I still think shipping him out for C.Lee would've been a better long term trade, but with all the bulls troubles with keeping bigs healthy this year... I can see why they didn't ship him out.

This thread has inspired me to go find my old copy of NBA Courtside 2002 for GCN. That game still has the best passing system I've ever seen.

I think Dennis Hopson was the Bull that insulted me the most.

Say it were possible, would this team compete for a championship back in 07?

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=sheridan_chris&page=Deng_Bryant

Kobe wasn't coming if Deng was included, so let's make this very hypothetical. I don't know what would work with the cap, so I'll try my best.

Kirk Hinrich
Kobe Bryant
Luol Deng
Drew Gooden
Ben Wallace

Andres Nocioni
Joe Smith
Chris Duhon
Rookie Thabo Sefolosha

EDIT: Hmm seems Tyrus, and Joakim would definitely be gone for Kobe, so I removed them from that list.

Ewwww, Bulls-era Ben Wallace.

That team would be good though I liked them much better before the revision.

Strong defensive team but not sure at all about those bigs.

Oops, sorry, American odds. Yeah, +500 is 5 to 1.

Which site is this? Even I'd take the Knicks at 5-1.

Who would they have had to beat in the East in 07 to get the Finals? Cavs and Pistons?

EDIT: And Magic?

heh, hawks are paying 5 - 1 for a win over the magic today. THATS not a bad bet.

I actually would favor them to win again at Orlando.

The Hawks have talent, they just don't seem to have minds, maybe that first one did something for them.

Probably not.

They won the season series, i wouldn't be surprised by a first round win by the hawks. Not expecting it, but eh.

I'm thinking the same thing and I'm a Celtics fan. 5-1 on a -7 / 6.5 line makes no sense to me.

+500 can't be right, I'm seeing half that on the site I use.

Yeah, I just checked William Hill and they have the Knicks at +260.

Are you sure you didn't accidentally bet a prop or something, Omiee?

He parlayed a win straight up + the over or something LOL . That also might be on the series now that they lost game 1 which is still too big of a payout.

Bryant & Fisher led a standing ovation from Odom's teammates. "Get outta here man, sit down, man," he laughed.

Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak: "A lot of people probably don't know that Lamar Odom is the most popular player in our locker room."

Lamar as he was tearing up: "There are a couple people I wish were here to see it." (Referring to his deceased mother, grandmother, son)

It's amazing to think how much Lamar has grown, basketball wise, since he's come to LA. He used to be a frustrating player to watch, but I love watching him play these last couple of years.

I don't really care for the Hawks all that much, but seeing Kirk Hinrich absolutely demolish his opposition with fundamentally sound defense is very enjoyable to watch.

Best defensive PG in the game.

He even has the specialty goggles to prove it.

Wasn't it all mental and he his worst enemy???

The talent was always there though maybe the expectations a bit too high.

Exactly. Its petty but I hate when someone doesn't go through the ups and downs. One of my friends just jumps ship the second his team of the moment starts doing bad. Meanwhile I'm hiding in the closet crying with my Korean made blow up doll of Kobe.

He's less frustrating because you're not counting on him to be the second-best player any more.
