Actor Chadwick Boseman(Black Panther) dies from cancer

And anyone who has ibs, ibd (UC, Crohns). I'm at high risk with this 5 year flare up and I'm finally getting it under control. I always encourage anyone with issues to get them looked at no matter the age. Some people are just scared to have someone see their butt. Don't be scared, they've probably seen much worse.
I have IBS but not been checked. My dad is a little worried about me since my mom's side has a history and I've been feeling very fatigued the past couple years. So now I'm kind of worried.

As someone who's around the same age and also going through a cancer battle, this especially hurts a lot. Similar shock as when I learned about Andy Whitfield (Spartacus actor, with whom I share the same type of cancer). RIP :(
Stay strong brother

Colonoscopies aren't bad, I've had several of them done. It doesn't hurt at all, you're put under, you don't feel a thing. When you wake up you wouldn't even know except for a little blood in the toilet after that's just from them taking routine biopsies. The prep sucks and you shit your brains out for a few hours, but if you can deal with that it's a good trade off to make sure you're healthy in there.

Holy crap. This is quite the shock. He really must have kept his illness hidden if people didn't know.

Wonder what this means for the future of Black Panther in the MCU. My guess is they'll recast the part since I don't see them abandoning the character. I don't even think the Marvel bosses are ready to give Shuri the mantle like it happened in the comics.

RIP T'challa. Wakanda Forever.

I actually just made an appointment last week for colon cancer screening. I've had some chronic issues/narrowing/mystery bleeding. My doc recommended a colonoscopy which I failed to get in 2013. My appointment to even setup a colonoscopy isn't until 9/22.

Is the narrowing from scar tissue forming?

So, he filmed Black Panther, Infinity War and Endgame whilst knowing about his disease and doing chemo?

He is a true hero in my books.

I don't know if I'd have his courage and motivation were I in his shoes.

Dont wait. Mine started with ibs and I've spent the last 5 years dealing with UC. Genetics play a part but not everything. Start looking into Gut bacteria (good and bad). Cut out bad foods and add in good stuff (this all depends on your digestion). I'm almost off all meds now with changes I've made. Also get allergy tested if you react to certain foods funny.

My grandfather was diagnosed with colon cancer back in the 60s. Went for surgery and they cut his pancreas on accident during the surgery. He was apparently in severe pain that he ended it with a shotgun Himself. Things are different now a days but prevention is very much there now.

Devasted

Got cancer literally at the height of his career and spent the next four years working extremely hard on several different movies, all the while struggling with stage III colon cancer. He had so much more to do and look forward to

Awful beyond words.

RIP

Absolutely he was. That's crazy because he must have been worn out all the time. Tho this makes me think Marvel had to know about his diagnosis for a while now given there's been rumors of him being replaced for the next movie.

I wanted this to be fake news so badly.

His career was on the ascent and he was a wonderful actor. What a boss he is to fight cancer while performing in highly strenuous action films.

As someone said earlier, this was like the same gut punch as when Andy Whitfield died.

My thoughts go out to his family and to all the other folks and their families mentioned who are affected by cancer. The day we have the technology to conquer cancers once and for all can't come soon enough.

Narrowing from scar tissue requires tons of unchecked inflammation. I've had it for 5 years with no narrowing. But changes in shape can been caused from ibs, spasms, Roids etc. this can be mistaken for narrowing of the colon.

Scar tissue? I had a rectal endoscopy in 2013 but they couldn't find anything of concern.
I was just curious, I have narrowing, mine is from scar tissue, wanted to know what caused your narrowing.

If you have mystery bleeding definitely get examined. A lot of things can cause rectal bleeding and even though most aren't life threatening, always best to be safe.

Yea getting old sucks. Already dealing with basil cell carcinomas (skin cancer), calcified thyroid nodule (possible thyroid cancer) and an unruptured brain aneurism. Might as well throw some colon issues on the pile.

I unfortunately got it. I've had like 5+ operations down there, it's caused all kinds of issues.

Damn that sucks. Sorry to hear. Have to tried Vitamin E Enemas? That really helps inflammation. As well as coconut oil enemas. Both have been researched a bit. Also adding sodium butyrate to it to help bring up SCFA in the area. It may help even after the surgeries.

Thats sad and even more heart broken to hear that he was young.

This cancer he was fighting for long must have being awful...I hope he finds peace and no more pain.

I've finally gotten the inflammation under control, but the scar tissue and trauma down there has led to problems that I haven't found a fix for yet. I'm in the process of trying to find a remedy now between doctors.

I opened Gaf's front page and read "Actor Chadwick Boseman(Black Panther) di..." seriously hoping it was about something else. He was a great actor and put everything into the Black Panther role

Wtf! Was it even public that he was sick !? RIP
His Wiki says that he was diagnosed in 2016. But I don't know if that was a recent update o has been there for ages.

Skimming articles, it seems his family made a statement he was diagnosed 4 years ago with stage 3. So this revelation might be new news today. Not sure.
