Batman AK PC Perf Thread of DARKNESS, NO SETTINGS [30fps cap / intro removal in OP]

Imo since they showed that Nvidia trailer running at 1080/60 we should all get free Pascal prototype rigs, even though we were given the option to refund by pretty much every storefront.

Nvidia should throw customers a bone, IMO. Their customers are the most screwed.

MGS V for all. Or Mad Max, or whatever game they were giving away before the Witcher 3 + AK combo.

I don't want a copy of Borderlands: The Presequel

or AC:Unity or The Crew or Far Cry 4

I think it's up to WB, Nvidia furfilled what it needs to do, providing a working code for Batman AK.
Warner Bros should provide an option like Ubi did: I think it's mandatory, now. Yes, some people were able to complete the game, but a majority didn't. Also there's the fact a lot of users bought the Premium edition of the game. So WB should provide a season pass to all vanilla owners, and a choose of a free game to Premium owners, since those were screwed very badly. You can purchase a vanilla code for cheap thanks to Nvidia promo, but I think Premium edition package is only available from Steam, so those people spent 100 bucks out of nothing.

Except for the people that upgraded their GPUs (maybe even due to this game!) and received a code.

I don't think Nvidia owes anything, but WB sure as fuck does. I'll be doing my part as I crossed WB-published games off my "buy new" list.

Free Season Pass or GTFO.
What about people who already bought the Season Pass? Sure I only paid £10 for it (on pre-order) but there will be plenty of other people who bought it to.
If there are freebie giveaways for people who didn't refund then it better not be just a season pass code. That would also guarantee non-pass DLC.

There are no DLCs outsite of season pass. WB stated season pass owners would get ALL contents when those were released later outside of their exclusivity period.

I think he's just saying some people bought the season pass but not the premium edition.

I.e. I bought the season pass to go with my Nvidia copy.

Granted, the season pass look awful so far. I bought it on preorder from a key reseller for $18 and already feel ripped off.

I guess it means it's close, this is the first version they deemed "release ready" so to speak. But even this one has to go through some testing first.

So I've finally gone ahead and requested a refund from GMG for the season pass, there being no word from WB on if they're going to do anything make it up to people who kept (whether they had a choice or not) the game and/or the pass on top of there being no real info as to when the content will actually be released on PC and topped off with how underwhelming the content has been I figure I might as well get my $24 back.

Was the possibility of refund from GMG for the season pass made known? I'd recommend people do that. I paid about that much for it, but got it from Nuuvem.

So it looks like they won't make August.I'm hoping they at least make the DLC available quickly afterwards. Even though it looks shitty, I'd like to get whatever value out of it that I can.

The batgirl DLC looks fun, if way short anyway.

Can I return the season pass on Steam even though I have 40 hours played on the base game?

You can try. The reason the two refund conditions aren't set in stone is to account for situations like this, but at 40 hours you're probably pushing your luck.

I don't want a refund for the game, only for the season pass.

I think I am justified since none of the actual DLC that's part of the season pass has been released for us, which is total bullshit. I've moved on from this game, and there's so many other games I want to play that there is a slim chance I will get $40 worth of enjoyment out of the DLC whenever it does land in the future.

Just submitted a request. We'll see how it goes.

I know, but since Steam can't track DLC playtime*, DLC refund requests are based on base game playtime instead. I agree with your reasoning; I'm just making the point that you may have to twist Valve's arm.

* Unless the "DLC" is actually a separate game, e.g. DE:HR's The Missing Link.

Hopefully if they provide a link to official communication from WB about the delayed Season Pass content they'd allow it.

For what it's worth I managed to get a refund for the season pass when I was at 37 hours played. I got denied the first time, but tried again and explained that wasn't getting the content that I paid for so I felt a refund was a reasonable compromise.

You don't happen to have that transcript do you? I have the season pass too and would rather just have my money back.

I don't, sorry. None of the stuff I wrote was saved on any of the emails I got.

I do still have the screen cap of the refund issued email though.

Every time I see this thread bumped I expect a new official statement from WB and every time I leave empty handed. I must admit though, I'm apparently one of the very few people who didn't have a lot of issues with it. Except for the first two terrible hours that looked like a slideshow, the other 30 hours ran fine (60fps pretty much locked indoors and 35-60fps when gliding outdoors). But I'll happily accept the compensation. I'm down with either the season pass or a free WB game. Speaking of which, what other good WB games are there? (except for Shadow of Mordor, which I already played).

That was more or less my experience too. On a 980Ti. That's terrible.

I just want to finish the arkham trilogy :(

i'm sure i could "Settle" and play it with all the crap, but we shouldn't really have to do that

So it's still not playable on PC? Has there even been such a big release to be so completely borked and appearing like the devs aren't even trying to fix it?

Frankly, it's mediocre, you're not missing much. I kept expecting a good climax to come but it never does.

It condition hasn't changed since that band-aid patch they released about week after release, which only added missing effects and fixed nothing else.

Sadly, this is how I feel too. It's fun to play and traverse the environment, but the story is awful and the side quests are terrible.

Lol that's pathetic. Besides MGSV, this is probably the biggest game of the year. To have the PC version be so utterly broken at release and not fixed at all months later is something else. How can anyone have faith in WB or Rocksteady after this?

You're telling me. I had just gotten a 980Ti a little bit before release and was super excited to see all the Nvidia shit too and it all ran like dog-shit. I was flabbergasted that my PC couldn't hold a steady framerate.

I must add that I'm using a Sapphire 280X (3GB), so the fact that I knew the system requirements were rather high and seeing how many other people with much better cards ran it terribly, I settled with what I got.

But yeah, a 980 Ti should destroy pretty much any game, assuming you don't game at 4K (which even then should reach 30fps on any game rather easily).

Well, Steam keeps denying my Season Pass refund requests even though I explained that we never got any of the fucking content.

Oh well. Hope WB reimburses us with something.

Rocksteady have had their own developers working on it for months, trying to fix it. There is a fairly big patch due sometime in September, however I imagine it will be the end of the year before the game is properly workable.
