So I think that Moffat has had a good run. I hope he steps down after series 8 to focus on Sherlock. Gatiss should focus on Sherlock too.
I want Armando Iannucci but assuming we can't get him, who do you guys want next?
But... there shouldn't be any question about this, right? In The Curator's dialogue he very clearly implied that he is The Doctor some x amount of regenerations from now having taken the face of "an old favorite" for fun. Why is it so hard to just trust that?

Delighted to announce that MCA's PAUL MURPHY @paul_murfy will be directing Eps 3 and 6 of the new series of @bbcdoctorwho #doctorwho
(not related to anniversary, but no better thread I could find.)
Iannucci showrunning a children-focused humanitarian science-fiction show would be a sight to behold. Can't stop thinking about that now.
So, we've got four of the 13 episodes all accounted for. Wheatley for 1 and 2, and now Murphy for 3 and 6.

I think it's a perfect fit. Right now he's working on a book called Tongue International, which he calls 'a satirical fantasy about a privatized language'. His sense of humor would translate perfectly to Doctor Who, and he would have no trouble coming up with moral lessons for the children. Give him all of time and space to play with and it could be great. More importantly, it would definitely be something distinct from RTD and Moffat.
Is he any good? I really wouldn't know.

Oh I agree. It would be hilarious. Hope that could happen but it obviously won't.
me neither. here's his IMDB:

worked as grip on a lot of Peter Jackson stuff...not familiar with much else.
Not even if Capaldi begs him?![]()
Would Capaldi beg him, or just tell him?
"you're doing the fucking show, Armando."
In all seriousness, RTD must be pretty bummed.
The Time War has served its purpose, and it's probably not necessary any more.
I really like this little theory on who The Curator actually washttp://www.doctorwhotv.co.uk/who-is-tom-bakers-curator-56219.htm
Are you sure it's that Paul Murphy? I just did a search myself and this guy came up:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1973873/
Guy has worked on a bunch of BBC stuff so I'm guessing it's that one.

Balls. I was kind of hoping Peter Jackson had finally agreed to do an episode but mandated that they give his buddy some work in return.

Unless plans have changed or my info's off, Jackson is pencilled in to do next year's Christmas Special.

Ah, so it's actually planned? I always figured it was just wishful thinking.
The line of thinking behind RTD creating the Time War and the "destruction" of Gallifrey and the Time Lords was always more "all that shit is SUPER CONFUSING and everyone would be happier if it wasn't there to get in the way of our stripped down reboot", rather than "man, the Time Lords suck, fuck those guys".
I mean, it's obviously a little bit of the latter because they are the show's embodiment of nofunallowed.jpg, but that can always be improved. So I doubt RTD is gonna be fussed now that Who is well and truly accepted into the mainstream in all its glory once again. The time for the show to apologise for itself has passed, and I bet RTD would more than agree with that assertion.

Where did we hear that??
....so i am having a blue screen of death right now on my brain !
Someone said that the Doctor can only regenerate 12 times ... but CAPALDI !
...but now theand a friend reminded me that 10th regenerated into himself !War Doctor is a Doctor
So that means that 9 is now 10, 10 is now 11 AND 12 and 11 is now 13 !
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH
He said in the interview he'd do an episode in exchange for a new series Dalek, no other payment required. Somebody then asked Moffat in an interview & Moffat said it'd be a steal and they'd of course build him a Dalek.
I've just realised that what they did by removing gallifrey was exactly the same as what happened at the end of Blink.I saw this last night and I am a little confused. The entire Dalek Empire was wiped out by....."crossfire"? For serious?
