He works better in a stack but even in solo queue he is pretty impactful. Putting Ion Shell and Surge on your carry, vac+walling in team fights, quick Greaves. He definitely drops off in long games though.

People also forget to micro the wall illusions which can lessen their impact.

I'm still not convinced by this "utility no damage" Faceless Void. It seems to make the chrono even harder to hit: not only do you have to get the right enemies in there, but now you also have to make sure that the rest of your team is in a position to pump damage into the bubble, because Void himself isn't going to be doing much himself.
