I agree. I feel as though there are more contributing factors to him being let go. There is a line, he crossed it, and there is a price to pay. This coming from someone who enjoys what he brings to panels.
I don't know wtf GabeN is doing posting his first official statement on a forum like Reddit though instead of, say, blog.dota2.com.
Actually I'm more concerned about if 2GD is serious about this part of his statement; "but let's find out what others think shall we?"
I guess 2GD doesn't want to work with Valve in any capacity ever again?? I can still see him maybe getting invited to a future event in some limited capacity if he apologizes and changes his behavior off-screen towards the players and staff (because that's what I feel seems to be the underlying issue?)
But in all honesty he probably doesn't care anyway because he's still well-off with his studio/personal life/other endeavors and we're gonna see some more drama.

I've seen core Jakiro before run in the offlane but someone said carry was a thing in the past so I was curious what the heck a carry Jakiro looked like.
Old style was mek and proceed to 5 man for the rest of the game.
depends on the team composition, i like veil. the new build up makes it more desirable. an after mek item.

He's probably waiting till the day's matches are over. He knows people will just eat up the drama and take attention away from the games, and that will anger Gabe more.
I'm assuming he will try to paint himself as a victim as hard as possible, without trying to make Valve look too bad, in hopes that the community sympathizes and begs valve into forgiving him, even if there's a 1% chance of that happening.
Or maybe he'll go ham and burn all the bridges. God knows.

That's why they hired supposed experts to do these things. Both experts have let them down in various ways; it's entirely reasonable to fire them as a result.
Please. James fucked up, and while I doubt we'll ever learn the full story, it seems that he knew he fucked up too.

That's an assumption. James didn't do anything on camera that warrants such foul treatment. His antics at this event were no worse than any other event he has ever hosted. Seems like he's a bit of a public scapegoat for how amateurish the entire tournament has been so far.

I've only known 2GD from the International events (host at TI3 and I think spectator at TI4) and just from that perspective I actually liked the guy, so I'm really surprised when the new came at getting fired.
A quick look around youtube I found a highlight compilation of the Shanghai Major. Yeah they were acting unprofessional and most of it is instigated by James, but I can't really blame them because the production itself was unprofessional, I mean wtf with the white board?

The sad part is that James is actually a pretty good host/panelist outside of his antics/crass humor. He speaks more naturally and asks better questions than redeye or chobra, and usually does a decent job at making sure everyone gets to participate and tries to make them look good.
I wonder if reddit convinced him that doing stuff like calling Kelly a horse is why people like him, or if he just has some sort of compulsion to push things further than what's appropriate.
