Don't feel sorry for Trank, he fucked himself over. That Collider video is pretty damning. Hopefully more comes out on what Fox did. Feel kinda bad for Trank as he's going to be the fall guy when it seems apparent that Fox went above the usual production fuckery.
Don't feel sorry for Trank, he fucked himself over.
Actually, Entertainment Weekly's sources are saying that Trank's "destructive behavior" on the set of the movie (I.E. the rumors we've heard about him wreaking havoc during production) was also to blame for the film's quality. That Collider video is pretty damning. Hopefully more comes out on what Fox did. Feel kinda bad for Trank as he's going to be the fall guy when it seems apparent that Fox went above the usual production fuckery.
Since this article was published, several high level sources close to Fantastic Four spoken to independently of each other have told EW the rift on set was not about creative differences but rather combative behavior Trank demonstrated toward the crew, producers, studio and even the stars. Its partly linked to Tranks personal disputes involving accusations of deliberate damage done to the house he was renting which sources say eventually manifested on set as hostility and frustration from Trank.
Not all these new sources agree, however. Some who worked on the film say Trank was driven to the breaking point by the studio, which delayed casting and script approvals, slashed the budget by tens of millions from what was originally promised, and tried to force last-minute changes to the film just as principal photography was beginning, creating confusion and stress from the get-go that often boiled over among department heads trying to put together pieces of a movie that was still in flux.
Many sauces dropped in the Collider video, does seem like Trank got screwed from day one. Poor bastard. Thought Chronicle showed real promise, now I wonder what's going to happen to his career.
I gotta say there was a lot of good Invisible Woman cosplay at the Fantastic 4 showing.
"Kids, kids! You're both... Just awful."Anyone else getting flashbacks to John Carterwith the Trank/Fox blame game?OF MARS
I heard that the police caught a couple of guys climbing over the wall at our local Fantastic Four screening and said to them "climb back over and suffer like then rest of them you bastards".
So how does Sue get her powers if she's not part of the expedition team?
It's magic.
It's not explained at all, quite like the whole movie. She just gets hit in the observation room and hits the machines/wall behind her. Any guess is good.
was anyone else hit?

UPDATED, Saturday, 8:08 AM: Its still too early to call on the No. 1 spot for this lackluster three-day weekend. It could be the debut of Foxs Fantastic Four (or Fantastic Snore based on its C- CinemaScore) or the second weekend of Paramount Pictures Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation. Tonight we should see one or the other get a leg up.

Ha, he really did nail the impression.

Should make a thread.
My sister was telling me just now that a co-worker saw it the other day and that the post credit scene was the film patting itself on the back for having 500 people working on their film. Can anyone else confirm this?
Despite the quality of all the Fantastic Four movies, I wonder how many people just think the group is lame. the only cool thing about them is their villain, Dr. Doom. They just don't seem that interesting to me. They're like the corny version of the X-Men.
That being said, I'm sure that if the script was good I'd be a fan. That's all that needs to be done with that team. Good writing.
I've always thought they were lame as shit and still do. But that could change with a good movie, i thought captain America was trashy too but after the first movie hes my favorite in the MCUDespite the quality of all the Fantastic Four movies, I wonder how many people just think the group is lame. the only cool thing about them is their villain, Dr. Doom. Jamie Bell has been in a good stuff before like Defiance, Tintin, Snowpiercer, and Jordan has Creed and did Fruitvale, so I think they should be fineŌkami;174706809 said:Saw the movie last night, most of it at least, missed the first half an hour or so.
In all honesty? It was alright until Doom showed up, not good mind you but not bad either just serviceable, I honestly can't believe they how they could butchered him so much, Jesus.
It seems as if they had 20 minutes to come up with the last 20 minutes of the movie, that was sooooo bad.
While it was a bad movie it wasn't 9% on rotten tomatoes bad, its hate its a little overblown, its still not half as bad as Adam Sandler movies.
That quote of Kate Mara in the OP actually makes me really sad the actors did a good job, hopefully this doesn't destroy their careers.
Also that 2017 sequel its probably not happening anymore.
Watched it last night. Its a bit cheasy, but definitly the best FF movie by far. What's the F4 film from the 90's like anyway? Worse than this?
Worst line in the movie:
Reed: We've come a long way since the garage huh Ben?
Ben: I gotta say; its fantastic.
