They are removing it from the game.
LL was dedicated solely to the GS.
Edit: but apparently some fans managed to talk to Yoshida before the LL and the gist of it is that you shouldn't expect big SMN changes until the expansion but they might do something about MP deficiency issues.

Can newcomers join the Gaf free company on Ultros? I have a level 30ish character on Odin but I dont have anyone to play with. Now I could make a new character on Ultros too but I cant decide which one to stick to. Im from EU and on PS4 btw.

So I finally got a retainer to 50 as thm. Should I just be sending them on quick ventures all the time

Finally hit my 5th 50 in BLM. I love the hell out of this class. With MNK almost finished with Poetics, i will start picking them up for BLM now.
NIN is next. Still working on Alexandrite as well for MNK zodiac. Should probably get started on EX Primals and Coil too. Extra Soldery anyone? =)

Best things I got thus far have been some Moogle Weapons (i75). Was convinient when I was still at the beginning of endgame content.
I mean, getting a bunch of shards or Fleece/Snurble Tuft/etc. is still nice to sell. Can make decent consistent money from ventures even if you don't actively craft from them.
Also, Quick Ventures can get pretty much anything in the game. Fish are pretty common simply because there are a ton of fish, same for all the housing items you get. It's still a decent way to "gamble" for items since ... well, you pretty much just get anything in the game.

They have to be battle classes at level 50 with at least ilvl 80 to bring back those dye
iLevel is nothing considering how much spare soldiery and HA gear I have in my DRG and WAR classes, never mind the constant bombardment of more Soldiery with nothing to spend it on. It's the level 50 part. How long does that take roughly? At least my retainer won't have to worry about DPS queue's.

Mine keeps bringing me back honey lemons.
I started playing/got my retainers around the beginning of December and have pretty much always had them out on exploration (the long ones) every day. My DRG retainer just got to 50 a couple days ago. I wasn't as diligent about sending them out for the first couple weeks after getting them tho (since I didn't have much venture until I was 50) so your mileage may vary, but I'd say about 1.5-2 months if you play every day.

i only do quick ventures. my retainer brings me that rare untradable dye all the time. the rest i just sell.

My retainer sometimes brings me really good stuff, just yesterday she brought me some allagan leather.
