as in run syrcus tower to get the tomestone and sand of time. you also need 1300 soldiery. also run World of Darkness to get i120 gear to compliment the poetics gear you'll be getting

Well, first time trying PVP again since 2.5.

I, REALLY, don't like slaughter. Switching between targets on a controller is clunky as heck when everyone is in a mosh-pit in the middle, and the mechanics favors caster dps waaaaaay too much.

I much prefer the old Secure mode Frontlines, which, is apparently abandoned, or so I'm told.

It'll take a while to catch up. If you're doing books, the finished weapon will actually be 100 (Atma is 100 with the stats of a 90, Animus is true 100).

I'd say that if you're really invested in your relic, do both: grab a Shiva weapon (110) and upgrade it (115), and keep doing your relic as something on the side. World of Darkness may also drop the item you need for an i120 weapon in future, and that in turn can be upgraded to 130 with Carbontwine. (This is written with the assumption that you are not doing Final Coil. Both items can be acquired there, and ultimately a 135 weapon for clearing it.)

On the other hand, if you just want a better weapon, it might not really be worth grinding a relic out now if you're not really into the grind - I think if you went in hard on it starting now, you'd be looking at like a month to get it up to date, and during that time, you'll have better weapon options all the way up to Zodiac.

Edit: It's also worth stating that it is a hell of a grind, and will take a lot of effort and resources—but hey, it can be something to do as a long term project! :V
And it is nice to have something like a personal weapon that feels like it's "yours". Whether that is worth your time and sanity is up to you.

Just did a Titan HM where a Tank who I vastly outgeared refused to move from my position while I was MTing. Not the first time but I dodging Plumes and landslides while dealing with everything else makes it a lot more annoying. (I had i110 stuff on, he was a mix of i50 - i80ish)

Like I said, not the first time but it's very much annoying. I only MT'd because we wiped twice and that second wipe, the healers ended up getting full aggro (and one dps).

Also speaking of Relic, I just remembered, I need to work on mine. I'm still on the second or third animus book so got a lot of grinding to do... yay.

That depends on whether you care about the secondary stats on your weapon and would want to customise them. That's the relic's main selling point. I would do what others suggest and do both. You've got a weapon to use now and maybe in, like, 2019 when you're done with relic it can take over as your main one.

Dragging the item from the craft window into your hotbar will create a direct link to the item in the crafting window, this is useful for those nasty pre-craft materials like Threads, Ingots or Sauces, since you don't have to go searching for them and can simply click your hotbar.

Left side is all daystar except hat which is demon hat of dealing. right side is all ilvl 90 stuff except one ring which is daystar. Scholar has weathered book and WHM has Thyrus Zenith.

Been thinking of either upgrading to ironworks body item or using the poetics to upgrade my right side stuff.

I wish the cooldown on Elusive Jump was like 10-30 seconds. Wonder what the justification is for 3 minutes. Its use is highly situational and I mostly just use it for laughs. For the few fights where it is actually useful, the cooldown is so long that you can only use it one time or maybe twice per fight. I'm thinking like the final boss of Labyrinth of the Ancients. That's the one where you have to rush back to pads to raise the shield, right? I'd love to use it for both times there, but the cooldown is long so you can only use it once.

Just finished getting my Nexus but I was under impression at least from the FFXIV Toolkit site that it improve 3 points. My nexus improved my Spell Speed from 44 to 46 but that's it. Is it only 2 points up or is because I went 21 Det and 10 crit(I'm poor).

I'd wait for the patch first, see what they're doing. After that, Ironworks chest is probably the biggest upgrade in terms of stats especially if you do some hunts for a twine(or if they add easier twines tuesday) and the stats work fine for both class and is BiS until T13. Jewelry is nice because you can upgrade to 130, but it's also the least amount of stats per item and doesn't increase vit, which while not super important makes a big difference in doing content since it lets you mess up random stuff and not die instantly. Also do run WoD for loot, hat/gloves/legs/belt are all crazy good, boots are alright and chest is meh. Oh and run Shiva EX, get 115 weaps and 120 bracers. The bracers are actually good for healers iirc(det/piety I think? so alright for both) and 115 weaps is going to be a huge jump in power.

Alternative for jewelry is crafted, but it costs quite a bit to meld, even with "poor" melds. Still if you have like 500k per piece to spend, using II and III crit/det materias you can generally make some very competitive jewelry with i130, and you can also meld some vit if you feel like it to get an extra buffer of hp.

i didn't know this game had numerous crafters. i actually made sure to check who crafted the pieces they were wearing. i'm just a little surprised by the shady numbers. it wasn't like this 6 months ago.

Most people aren't able to craft them, hell I have 2 lucis and I can't craft 3 out of the items still cause I can't be bothered with those classes. You do what most people do, you buy the materials/find someone in your FC who can desynth(generally going to cost you 10-20k this way), then find someone who can craft them and give them a 10-20k tip and you now have your zodiac item at 20-25% of its market board value. You have plenty of time to find all the crafters and all the gear while you spend several days farming stupid dungeons that won't drop the goddamn thing.

If you're not in a FC or a very small one though, it's a lot more annoying. The market prices are pretty high. It'll run at a bit more than the Novus materia infuses I think, assuming you went tri stats(way cheaper than crit/det max though), plus the vendor stuff so yeah it's kinda expensive. You do make like 500k from dungeon materials+GC seals mats on the other hand, so that helps a bit.
