To add on to this, a lot of the weapons in their Zeta forms actually look like complete weapons. Longinus becomes a spear, Kaiser Knuckles gain their claws, Yoichi Bow gains a Gundam reticle, etc.

This does beg the question though ... what the hell were the original Zodiac Braves fighting with all these beam weapons? Are all the dragons in Ishgard mechas?

As they didn't have the Zetas when they were fighting, I'm going to assume they just used them as lighting and conversation pieces.

'Yeah that book glows, funny story actually-'

I hope so. I also hope next relic chain concludes with me getting my own gundam.

If I remember the quest text properly, the Braves fought a massive demonic creature named Zodiac, and that's how they got their name. Additionally, apparently it was Zodiac's blood that granted the original Zodiac weapons their sentience and additional power.

I keep thinking that this creature was actually Zodiark, or some sort of Zodiark spawn, and that the name is a mistranslation from the original text, or something.

Hideous aesthetic-ruining starburst is off-center.

Unless 2.55 adds a mini-step to properly calibrate the aiming system, Glowichi looks more slapdash in-progress than vanilla Yoichi. Like I think with some of the weapons you can argue the flow is part of the overall design, but most of the zeta starburst implementations look very after the fact.

Yes.

All of this and more.

You're just salty this is happening while you're too busy being a Chocobo racist to hoard healing coats.

Also I feel compelled to have a moment of silence for original difficulty T7, may it forever burn somewhere unpleasant.

Savage T7 still too stronk.

Whats the benefit to doing savage this just sounds disturbing.

Titles. Challenge. Bragging rights. 6, 8, and 9 sound like they could be fun or at least funny. A lot of the 'savage' mechanics effectively eliminate the popular cheese strategies for handling things and enforce doing the intended mechanics.

Pre Nerf T7 was already frequently kind of brutal, though, so I assume Savage T7 mostly exists for people who really, really enjoy their own suffering.

A title that tells other people you are better than them.

Very important for Final Witness pecking order, too, I guess. You can't all be the most leet.

Hit 50 on my white mage and I'm so confused on what to do now. The game doesn't really help tell you what to do like wow did >.> I guess I gotta do more of the ZZZZ main quest line to unlock the level 50 stuff in the duty finder.

NO JAYHAWK I NEED THESE DAMNED PANTS

Because I cant buy poetic pants this week anyways, so I'm getting the poetics helm, and I dont wana worry about acc cap ever again :3

You can't buy poetics pants this week, so you're going to wait 3 weeks instead of buying them next week? RIP patience and logic. Accuracy requirements only matter if you're actually doing the content that requires them. Spamming T7 endlessly does not qualify.

Why do people care about accuracy when they aren't doing Coil...

Because all I plan to do is learn coil asap once I meet the cap. Soo...yeah, I need acc....

Andd this is my last weekend coming up for a little before I take a short-ish break :3 So I wana try stuff sooner than later. And if I get the T7 pants, I'm fine for that aspect.

Shiva has the T9 acc cap, so even if you stick to non-coil content accuracy isn't a non-issue. And there is something to be said for setting your gear to a level where you can literally do anything without having to stress about it even if you never actually do anything (ie, my entire 2.2/2.3 gearing strategy which did ultimately wind up being useful a few times.)

Plus, I mean, I don't know why you'd expect people to do content requiring accuracy prior to actually having the accuracy. Prep work is prep work.

That said, you don't need T7 pants to hit the T9 acc cap and I think should be able to cobble something together mostly in sold gear, so I'm not sure days and days of Nerf T7 is super useful.

I'm going to be so disappointed when I look and I got knocked out of top 3. Being up there is just giving me false hope.
I think you got a good chance of staying in top 3, no one seems to care enough to rig it on our server. I had a guy offer to pay me to lose once earlier but no PF/shout stuff that other servers apparently had.

This speaks for a lot. To be honest, a lot of this has to do with the fact I have gear that doesnt have Acc but has other stats on it, and I'd rather keep those on than replace them with worse gear that only has the benefit of acc. However, my pants suck, and the t7 ones are better AND add a lot of acc, so it solves both problems in a single item?

I get the feeling the weekend will knock me off. Idk, I guess this is the one advantage to being on our dying server. I just don't want to lose because of people boosting themselves.

On Savage Second Coil.

Might give it a try if I get bored after putting T13 on farm, but I doubt I'll make a concerted effort. I don't care that much about bragging rights.

Dude, if you're going to be doing coil at some point, get used to sacrificing secondaries for the sake of accuracy. I run around with, like, 485 accuracy most of the time right now. I make up the gaps with food with a slight accuracy boost first, then by switching to an inferior hat and bracelet that have more accuracy, then by switching to food that has massive accuracy and lesser stats depending on the number I'm trying to hit for whatever I'm getting carried through at the time (STILL FEELS AWESOME)

Spamming T7 if you're bored isn't the end of the world, but you can't control RNG and even if you see the pants you might still lose them. If you actually want to make a dedicated effort to learn (actually learn, not get a carry) T9 in the time you have, you should focus on getting the acc however you can. Echo will basically make the lost secondaries meaningless anyway.

Ill be in the 520s from the legs without sacrificing anything, so thats a decent plan for me I thinkk

T9 Savage isn't my idea of fun to be quite honest.
If Alexander HM is that kinda level it better have damn good justification for it.

No one ever said Alexander HM would be like that. HM will be same as now with story mode being a lower version of that.

Considering that I didn't really like most of Second Coil, I can't blame you there. Honestly aside from T6, the only turn I ended up enjoying was T9, and even there the last phase isn't all that fun.

I dunno, a lot of Second Coil I'd describe as, twitchy and gimmicky. I enjoyed both first and final coil a lot more.

I don't think its going to be story mode, it's just normal. It's not likely to be a requirement for the story.

No, someone had YoshiP saying here that regular Alexander will be like regular coil now and that hard mode will be like savage. It could be bad translation though. Maybe something to ask him about Kagari?

It's called story mode because the point of it is to get through and see the story.

What purpose would that serve? The point was to allow more people to see the "story" of the raid.
