Who else will compete with PlayStation though?
Sure, PC and Switch exist, but neither are direct competition if you want a traditional box under the TV that plays all the non Nintendo games.
Valve?
They have a great platform in Steam, but it would just be a repeat of Steambox again, they can't compete with Sony on manufacturing, hardware support and rollout. They barely make any games these days either.
Apple?
Huge gaming store/platform, a massive hardware distribution business, but they don't make any games.
I think going forward Switch and PlayStation will have a duopoly when it comes to consoles.
Coca-Cola vs Pepsi
Windows vs Mac
iPhone vs Android
Airbus vs Boeing
Marvel vs DC
Visa vs Mastercard
Many markets end up with way, remember all the old phone operating systems like Symbian, PalmOS, BlackBerryOS and Windows Phone? Now we have just 2, and no one's going to disrupt that, it's just too late.
