I have been very baffled by all this ugly main character discussion. That didn't even come to my mind when watching the trailer. She is beautiful. Also the actress is African American and many have bald hairstyles.

TLOU2 was a massive leap forward compared to that game. It's really that good. Certainly enough to be excited for what they might have to offer here. At least on that front I'd keep an open mind what's possible here for gameplay.

I’m not knocking Tati, I think she is pretty in her own right. Her in-game character model isn’t even a fair representation of what she looks like at all. She’s not bald, nor is she’s muscular. At least from all the photos I’ve seen of her.

Yeah, no chance it will flop, unless the game is really really bad. ND will supplement the really bad design choices with high graphical fidelity and a cinematic experience. I think in this midst of Sony lacking projected first party output it will look like a star.

Your being facetious the game is a racing sim completely different ball game for GT to be realistic they have to have world accurate cars and brands to bring it all together seeing Porsche and adidas in a sci-fi trailer is sort of weird tbh.
That was not really the point either. It is not really that I derive some kind of preternatural pleasure from looking at a "sexy cartoon" as it is something else entirely. The point was that I simply cannot stand having to look at some uglified-buzzcut-lesbian throughout the duration of an entire game and would much rather look at something else. Hell, I'd rather play as an anthropomorphic ice cream cone than the shit they have made as the main character of this game. I just refuse to do it, and I suspect lots of people feel the same way.
But you can still have variety within a genre. Concord is a VERY different game to what Intergalactic will be and I'm sure SSM's sci-fi game will be different again and all these are very different to what people seem to think this will be like which is Guardians of the Galaxy. This is Naughty Dog, it will be violent, it will be dark.
This ain’t coming out anytime soon from my understanding, 2026 or 2027. The big Sony fans will defend it no matter what but it’ll be a noisy release and there will be other stars out by then. No flop but a muted reception should be expected, with top scores on IGN, Kotaku, Eurogamer…
