Platinum Trophy: Learned to Shit While Upright Again.
It's all rigged folks, each team will hold onto their home court.

NBA wants to make $$$$

Yeah NBA asked GSW to go down 3-1 in the WCF to make it more dramatic for that comeback

NBA should be hoping this becomes a sweep and end the Cavs pain

3 team trade

Cavs get melo
Knicks get 3rd pick X Cavs or Celtics picks
Celtics get love

You guys should know that Draymond is getting a tech tonight then suspended next game, so warriors need this game more
Assuming Melo is not washed up and can be convinced to play defense that pickup would huge for the Cavs. A midrange post up player in that offense would help a ton against a good western team. They would need another big though or would have to play and live win Mozgov.

What's the word on Kevin Love?

He's a 20-10 guy that, for some reason, the Cavs are trying to use as Sam Perkins. That is, they don't let him post up and toss him the occasional catch and shoot 3, but not regularly enough to get a rhythm.

Shockingly, he's proven ineffective in this miscast role. For God's sake Cleveland, let him post up on Golden State's bigs and get his confidence back.

Also, fun drinking game, take a shot every time the following happens: Warriors run Love through a pick and roll, he futilily attempts to shade his defender instead of staying in front of them, gets blown by, Cavs help defender leaves a Warrior open for 3 to help, and said Warrior drills the 3 on the catch and shoot. At this rate, they might as well play zone with Kyrie and Love on the floor together.

I love how all of sports media keeps spinning this narrative the past week about how Lebron needs to be more aggressive and harkens back to his performance last year.

If Lebron loses, people want to be assured of his dominance still, they don't want to speculate his lost skillset all summer. Its also their best chance to win, but I think the media's just demanding their superstar show up in spectacular fashion.

I think the mistake mildly, is suggesting its just a choice for him to show up, when I think its becoming increasingly difficult for Lebron to get there. If it turned on like a faucet, I think Lebron obviously realizes 23ppg Lebron isn't going to get it done, with how his squad's performing in this Finals.

The offensive side of the ball just doesn't come that easily to him right now. I think the turnovers have been really telling he's trying. Its striking to remember Lebron in Miami, talking about how he could win the scoring title every year if that was his goal. That level of confidence, and his fuck you threes just aren't there.

I hope he can pull one out though. A great Lebron performance and one close game, would be more than I can ask frok this series at this point. But Im not counting on it

What? People have been saying this for a while now.

Did you miss so many people saying "The Cavs went to 6 games last year and now they're healthy!" Even smart basketball minds like Zach Lowe were picking the Warriors in 7. The "LeBron needs help" narrative wasn't there before Game 1.

Melo would probably be a better fit than Love, but I don't see him jumping ship to go play with LeBron. He passed that up before for money and the spotlight. I think it'd be hard-pressed to convince him to play in friggin' Cleveland over NYC.

Would be interesting if they worked it out though and tried sticking with this small ball lineup with LeBron at the 5 and Melo at the 4.

I've always held the belief that a fully healthy cavs team wouldn't do better than the team from last year's finals for two reasons:

1. the huge downgrade on defense with kyrie and love healthy. you don't beat golden state by going shot for shot with them, you beat them by playing defense and disrupting their flow.
2. the amount of adversity the cavs had to go through last year put them all on the same page mentally and their intensity, effort, and execution were off the charts for the opening of the series. you can't really replicate that kind of stuff.

This is my theory. Nobody wants a GS sweep blowing out every game(well except me, GS fans and Lebron/Cavs haters of course). NBA wants a 7 game series.

Watch the next few games be Cavs blowouts which is "rigged". GS doesn't blow out a team then get blown out just because of home court....except in money grabbing NBA...

LOl ok I'm done with my crazy thoughts.

There were a lot of smart basketball minds who thought the same thing going into this series. However, there is a difference between "The Warriors are a bad matchup for the Cavs" and "The pieces around LeBron aren't good." The latter narrative didn't start until this series. No one was saying "None of these players are good!" during the season or as the Cavs cruised through the playoffs. I don't remember any clamber for them to make a trade-deadline deal to shore up all their holes, either.

anybody with a little basketball IQ knew Cleveland couldnt beat GSW or SAS. and now that we saw OKC turnup they wouldn't beat them either.

all of that other shit was people being in flat denial.

Tv contracts are already set. Not sure why people keep clinging to this particular conspiracy myth.

but them gate receipts though. its still a fuckload of money to be made if it goes 7. which it wont lol.

Clippers vs Cavs would have been a fair match.

Whomever won between OKC, SAS, and GSW was the real showdown. This is simply just GSW taking the crown. Their battle was won already with OKC.

So will they start Mozgov? Or maybe start Lebron at 4 and Frye at the 5. Think there's a chance this could help Cleveland.

That being said, Cavs are -13 with Love and -40 with him off so far in this series (somewhat noisy because of garbage time) so I dunno.

Pretty sure most if not all of the gate money stays with the home team, so the NBA wouldn't have much vested interest in risking the entire credibility of the sport just for a few extra thousand ticket sales. C'mon people use some common sense. If the league had the ability, or even cared enough to, rig the league to this level all in the name of ratings the Lakers and Knicks would be in the Finals every year. The league is healthy as fuck even if the Warriors (you know the team that features the leagues most popular and well liked player since maybe Jordan) sweep the Cavs in embarrassing fashion.

Stat Flow

He gonna cry in the car
K Love has been ruled out for tonight

Love's out for tonight's game.

RIP Cleveland

Yeah, K Love's defense sucks, but the Cavs desperately need his offense. They need any offense they can get. The Warriors look super comfortable and their offense is flowing when they turn it up. Cavs Gameplan to slow the game down with Mozgov won't work against the Small Ball Death Squad. For one, Mozgov doesn't look like 75% of himself from last year. Second, the SBDS is what destroyed him last year.

As such, he won't have enormous amounts of minutes, I think.

This is not the normal course of events.

Usually a super fan will guarantee a win based on extreme feels and feelings. When their prediction does not come true they do not examine the game (which they probably did not watch the entirety of) or read what others are saying about the game and will immediately jump onto the idea that the game was rigged and cite 1 or 2 bad calls in a game of over 80 plays as proof that the league wants a certain team to win it all.

This boy done changed the game and went straight to conspiracy.

Isn't he a better defender than Love?

He's an awful defender, and the Warriors know how to perfectly exploit him. He ends up on a perimeter player, which is why he went from shooting lights out in the ECF to playing like 10 minutes a game. He can't play. He is a net negative on the court. Like 3/4 of the Cavs roster are net negatives.
