My only prediction is that the guy from Akron will lead his team to the title in 6 or 7 games. Should be a tough series.

Thats not how building basketball rosters even work. lol. Every successful team puts players together from various pieces, and free agency and trades in basketball have a way larger impact on a team than any other professional sport. Also you may want to look back at that Anthony Bennett draft. there isnt anyone even in the top ten that has made any significant impact in the NBA other than CJ Mcollum at #10 who just won the MIP Award.

What are you laughing at? Kevin Love isn't a great fit. If they scouted better they wouldn't have traded for him. And Bennett is the worst #1 pick ever. He's out of the league after three seasons and he wasn't even injured. So, yeah, the Cavs aren't great at scouting.

What do you guys think are the chances that GS will protect home and go up in the series 2-0?

For the sake of competitiveness, Cavs need to split the first two games.

Love could have been a lot more effective if the Cavs were willing to share the ball more. Most stars can't be very effective without the ball in their hands. Bosh was pretty amazing at it but he is a rare breed.

I think Thompson was the real mistake. His only skill is rebounding, something Love is also pretty good at it. What they needed instead was a rim protector who could roll to the basket on pick and rolls. The defense would help make up for Love and Kyrie. And that PnR could have been pretty effective (no one cares if Thompson shoots, he is garbage). But if Lebron forces them to pay Tristan I don't know how much I can blame management.

My favorite part of basketball is the dribbling. Who agrees?

Dribbling it's a cool skill but way too abused. Passing it's the most appealing to me and the one I try to practice the most while playing 3v3 or 5v5. At times it requires this connection and reading of intent that's satisfying when you get it right.

If the Cavs give Verajao a damn ring, then the Lakers owe Vlade.

Cause he was there for a long time too, and without that trade, Lakers would have never got Kobe.

My prediction for the Finals: Cavs in 5.

Warriors have not seen the kind of firepower the Cavs have, and barely scraped by the two man turnover/choking Thunder. Ain't no way LeBron losing this series.

I think it's telling that the Cavs couldn't make the playoffs in a terrible East without LeBron, even when being gifted #1 picks.

Meanwhile a certain organization was 1 away from the ECF only a year removed from losing a certain player. That's the difference between a terrible organization and a good one for ya.

Honestly don't really like what you're implying here.

Heat missed the playoffs completely the year LeBron left. After making the Finals 4 years straight. And then missed the ECF this year. Again, after making 4 straight Finals.

It's LeBron that's the catalyst.

(But yes, the Heat are a better organization than the Cavs, I'm just making sure credit is given where it is due: LeBron James)

the idea behind giving Varajao a ring is the was on the roster during the season that they won the title. Lots of sports do that and end up giving rings to practice squad players or minor leaguers. The Lakers won their title with Kobe 3 years after the Kobe/Vlade trade.

Bosh missed the 2nd half of the season.

It's tomorrow.

This post is nonsensical. The reason he gets a ring is he would have played more than half the season for the Cavs the year they won the title if they won.

Historically every player who was active on a winning team that season gets a ring, even when traded or cut.

I hadn't subscribed to the Ringer thread, so lemme just mention The Ringer website is live as of today. It's Bill Simmons' new thing, so hopefully it'll be Grantland 2.0. I mention this here because as we've been getting deeper into these playoffs, I've been visiting Grantland more and more lately because I forget it got shut down.

Was on my way towards AT&T Park for Global Run Day this evening and happened to walk past Lebron James, Kevin Love and several players and staff (was on 3rd Street, near CPK for reference). Was pretty cool for those 5 seconds of seeing the group though had a good chuckle as someone started chanting "Warriors" as soon as they saw the group approaching.

Anyways, I'm hoping for Dubs in 6 as last year's Finals were fun.

Will there be any legal way to watch the Finals online? I don't have a tv and I've been watching the games on TNT overtime. :(

Damn I am reading articles and they are not even giving Cleveland a "chance" at winning. Well it's up to Cleveland to prove a lot of people wrong.

The problem is that there are very little, if any, analytics that clevland fans can point to that shows that cavs have the edge in any regard.

My friend, who's been on the "it's the injuries that let them win" bandwagon since last year believes cavs are a shoe in for the title. I ask why and all i get is because the team is healthy or they're better then they were last year. Uhh ok?!? And when i say that Irving and Love get turned into BBQ chicken on PnRs all i get is "we'll see, we'll see". When JR is cold and is shooting inefficiently, he's an offensive liability versus someone like Klay who still does work in the paint if the 3 isn't working for him...."We'll see, we'll see"

I told dude to explain to me using stats, analytics, matchup inefficiencies or something that suggest the Cavs have the advantage and that they should be considered the favorites and i'll give you bonus points if you don't use the name Lebron James. All i get is crickets.

It's to the point when i hear things like "Cleveland needs this" it's hard not to have it sound elitist. They need it why? cuz they never won anything? There's probably a good reason for that. Is it cuz the only guy that'll get you this close to a championship is facing diminished returns as the years go on? Well that sucks. It's not like they've been robbed of a championship.

I completely understand people wanting cleveland to win and i'm not saying it won't be competitive but to look at all the information out there and think the cavs aren't facing an uphill battle against the warriors, at least on paper if nothing else, is weird to me.

do you know anyone with cable + espn? like parents or a friend or something? you could use their credentials to watch it on your computer or other device.

I agree with him! 8:30pm EST would be much better for me. East coasters have commutes to wake up to in the morning.

he wasn't complaining about the start time though...he just thought the game was today lol
