Klay and Curry missed a record 4 uncontested shots in #Game1, don't see that happening again. Expect them to practice shooting over the next few days.

Cavs got so lucky, could have easily been a blowout.

Warriors playoff record in the last two years:

Games 1-4:

19-11

Games 5-7:

10-0

If you don't get them early, you're not getting them.

My post from yesterday afternoon:

I'm honestly flabbergasted by any analysis that has Lebron/Kyrie putting up bigger numbers than Durant/Westbrook last series.

Westbrook is a far, far better player than Kyrie on both ends of the floor. And Durant isn't the playmaker Lebron is, but he's a much better shooter.

It will be very difficult for the Cavs to lean on them as much as OKC did, especially if Kerr cuts the bs and starts Iggy over Barnes from the jump.

Edit: no this guy did not put James Jones in a bench list wars. In terms of raw points and differential, Cleveland has one of the worst benches in the league.

But some people weren't trying to hear that.

2 things
1- Please dont stop posting. I think you're wrong, but there are a ton of people that think like you, and its great to have this opinion posted here.

I didn't say I wouldn't. Just not going to respond to people that twist everything I say around. Shits lame. I like this thread, I like opposing views. Only other NBA talk I really get is FB and a local message board and it's filled with homers, naturally. Almost equally as lame.

Did anyone catch ESPN saying the Cavs had been good defensively all playoffs last night or was I the only idiot still listening to those guys

if it weren't for Ray Allen's godmode shooting he'd be 1-5 in the finals. There's only been 2 seasons in his career where I think he's been on the best team in the league, which is weird.

If he joined the Spurs, he'd be 6-6. So I don't get what your point is.

Mike Breen said Cavs defense in Game 1 had been spectacular in stretches.

It was more to the point where they were saying in the EC playoffs they were playing great defense but in reality they were still very mediocre against bad offenses. I think individually there were some good plays last night but as a collective unit there were so many mistakes.

It's kind of amazing that some of these media outlets don't even look at basic stats to back up what they're saying

This will probably be the last time I respond to you because I'm starting to see that your entire game is twisting everything I say into something I didn't. Pretty lame.

My point from the get go was pretty simple. I don't think Klay and Steph will continue to be this bad although Klay struggled vs the Cavs the entire Finals last year so maybe there's an analysis trend there that you like so much. However, I also don't expect our team to play as bad as they did last night either. And that one game does not make a series and we saw things from last nights game from both teams, good and bad, that are unlikely to keep happening. Lastly, GS SHOULD win these games. They are at home. I never predicted a sweep or anything crazy like that. Maybe some Cavs fans did, I don't know. That's not me. Call me when we lose a home game. Until then I just hope to steal one on the road. Didn't happen last night. Onward to Sunday.

Twist away.

I'm not twisting anything, I'm saying that, defensively, Cleceland played exactly how I expected them to play, which is why I don't put too much stock in that changing. Cleveland could play much better offensively, JR and Frye could get on a hot streak, LeBron and Love and Kyrie could score much more efficiently, I just don't think that will matter. I think their defense will be their downfall and I don't see any reasonable way their defense improves short of an injury to one of the Warriors.

This series is going to be a sweep. They can't run or shoot with even the Warriors' bench. Warriors defense is too good. If they have one amazing shooting night MAYBE they can squeek out a game. But they still have so many other issues especially on defense. Just no way they win this series at all.

Cavs organization should have never given Lebron so much power. They can make 500 finals in a weak conference, but they're never winning against the West in Lebron's career. Not with this team GM Lebron put together. I'm starting to wonder if it even matters if the Cavs have a coach or not. Lebron is poison.

Lebron should go super villain and leave Cleveland a second time for the West. It would be amazing. Either that or they gut most of the team and build it right for the future. But Lebron isn't getting another title that way. I still want the first option for the pure entertainment value.

So why are people so salty over the GSW beating records and winning titles?

Two factors:

I. People dont wanna accept Curry being equal or greater than Jordan. After all Jordan is on a whole another level when it comes to impact, personality, PR, brand value, legend-status, original play style etc.

II. People dont like GSW:s style of play. Beating records and winning matches by three pointers is mostly seen as a exemption to the rule/freak of a nature/hacking the sport.

Saw the highlights and all I saw was LeBron flailing his arms like an infant to his team, screaming at them lol. It was pretty sad.

I just realized GM LeBrons defensive pick up was the corpse of Richard Jefferson. And then he added a shooter in dishwasher Frye. I mean, he knew that he was probably going to see GS again but... Eh he didn't have much money to work with anyway. Whatever. Lol.

People are just haters ....*jordan shrug*

People loved the Warriors the last few years because they were exciting. Now they realize they were exciting because they are broken. Curry, Thompson, Green, Bogut, Barnes, Livingston, Barbosa, Iguodala... Their bench could probably be the best team in the East. They just want them nerfed in the next patch now.

GO DUBS!

xmas game didnt count, cuz kyrie just came back healthy ...according to neogaf cav fan

According to the same poster, the January 18 game also didn't count, because it was only Kyrie's 14th game back from injury.

I'm serious. We've been seeing some Olympic-level gymnastics the past week or so.

LATIN, MATRIPEDICABUS, DO YOU SPEAK IT
Are GSW fans REALLY complaining about groin shots?

ryutaro pls

And we still have the best guy in NBA history to defend with his legs!

Jefferson and Frye are both great spot-up shooters.

Which means precisely dick if the other team can defend your best players with one guy.

He also said it was a defensive battle. I have no idea where he got that from. You'd think Van Gundy would call him out for being flat-out wrong.

This is the media spin, also used in football, to cover up for bad offensive performances. Like in football when two terrible offenses play and the score is like 15-9 and they call it a defensive battle.

How can we accept what isn't even close yet......Curry still has yet to even come close to Jordon levels in the playoffs. No need to be Salty on the truth.

Who's a worse GM roc divers or LeBron
Lebron.

Getting Thompson signed was really stupid. He can only do one thing. Cavs really need a rim protector and perimeter defender. Either Love or Thompson has to go but I doubt anyone wants Thompson without getting someone else.

I wonder what Doc's logic was in hiring Josh Smith.

"That guy beat us in the playoffs last year. He can't beat us if he joins us!"

Actually, if Josh actually played to his strengths then he would've been a perfect fit for LA to act as a 3rd receiver to CP3s lobs. But nope, he thinks he's Curry out there.

It would be hysterical if Cavs get swept. They should be real worried that they lost by 15 when Steph and Klay shot so bad. I don't even think it was some elite D either, a lot of their misses shots were completely open to contested enough to score (for them). They were just poor.

You have to think they hit 60+ together on game 2.

Thompson was getting signed regardless. Cavs were way over the cap and couldn't sign any other free agent. He's way overpaid, but it's not my money.
