Anyone notice the height difference in the clip?

MyCareer storyline will have 6'10" centers guarding 5'7" guards and have me dunk over LeBron as a 5'4" point guard.

Edit: Letting dudes and lassies play together is cool, I like that they're making it possible, it's just the height difference that in my mind is silly.

Apparently there is no real segregation of the sexes in NBA, it's just that the women's quality is of a such lower standard that it basically segregates itself.
AFAIK the same is true for soccer worldwide.

"but there's no biological difference in strength or speed! It's all just cultural bias!"

Sure it is sweetheart, sure it is.

Sigh… this is getting ridiculous. And yeah, not sure about high-school teams but a mid-tier College team could probably get WNBA championship.

Same with Baseball as at least one woman made it to a local semi pro team near me called The Dubois County Bombers and they play in the stadium where A League of Their Own was filmed

Her name was Olivia Pichardo and I watched her bat a lot as I go to these games fairly often

She played one season and batted .128

Yeah, mid level high school boys teams would absolutely destroy them. Watch Angel Reese play sometime and tell me she has the athletic ability to play for a good boy's team.

There isn't segregation in most pro sports leagues. There is usually no rule that explicitly excludes women from participating. It's simply that realistically, no woman will ever make it even as a reserve player for the worst teams. Hell, women cannot cut it in second or third-rate pro sports league. Those guys may not be the best, but they still often earn money or even play for a living. People seriously underestimate even low-level pro athletes.

No, any college team annihilates the WNBA teams. They would waltz to the WNBA championship undefeated. This is a non-starter. Cooper Flagg, the 2025 first overall pick, was in high school just 2 years ago.

What some are missing on this subject is that there have been enormous improvements in women sports in the last 10-15 years.
So much more money invested, more interest, more professionalism, steady improvement of quality.
It's not the same standard as the men's and in most cases never, ever will be but can still be enjoyable to watch, entertaining and skilful and it keeps improving in a virtuous circle.
We just had the Football (Soccer) European Championships where I live and it was great, stadiums were full, lots of exciting games, some great skill from the best teams and a lot less playacting.
Young girls watching things like this and getting into sports, dreaming of being pro, on TV etc. and being able to play as Caitlin Clark or whoever in video games is just a part of that.
I've no idea why this is a bad thing, it's not a zero-sum game.

Great so my six year old grandson can beat up on some women and it's not sexist? Sweet, but I thought this was a sim game?

You can't force people into enjoying what they don't like.

In the end, being the fan of a sport means you enjoy watching the sport. If there is no enjoyment then you can't be a fan. There is NO way to use logic here; this is one of those cases where emotions matter. What you feel is what matters in entertainment, and if you don't feel it you wouldn't get involved. Just like how you can't force someone to enjoy music they don't like.

Where did I suggest that?

Wait, you watch womens sports for their skills?

It's a nice gesture, but will players actually do it? I remember when they did this for a recent soccer game and less than 10% of players did so.

I agree, there have been improvements and I generally enjoy watching some woman sports.

It kinda gets silly though if companies "tweak" the skill settings of woman players to compete with men. In EA Sports FC you often have woman outperforming word class male players like Ronaldo and Messi etc. Just think about how much effort goes into determining the stats of every single male player within a season and then woman just get a "bump" (+55 dash, +33 dribbling, +73 heading, etc). There have to be better solutions then this.

Agreed.
I imagine/hope you can just select a gender and ignore it if badly implemented like that.

It's funny how the sports games started adding female matches as separate modes and no one cared about that (there was even a related trophy in one of the FIFA games and it had a very low completion percentage). So now they're making the next step and I bet they'll also mess with the stats to avoid showing how weak WNBA actually is.

Not long ago I watched two 8th grade AAU travel teams play in Las Vegas as I waited for my nephews team to play and granted these kids were some of the best of the best high potential 8th graders in the country and I would put a million on those 8th graders beating a WNBA All Star team and wouldn't blink twice about it

Could you imagine the trash talk.

Women's Soccer should never recover from losing to U15 Dallas boys.
