I love the look of your desk, can you take a few shots of it? I'm moving into my new flat soon and need some ideas!

Sure, its like the easiest desk in the world tho. Placed two normal ones next to each other :) It works :p And it's a freaking mess in my computer room at the moment, ahh papers everywhere..never know where to keep that stuff.

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.
Got some work done on my bicycle today. General maintenance really, but I did replace my tires and tubes.

Plus I finally broke off the noob plate on the rear wheel.

Don't go too overboard with an amp for the 595s, they're pretty easy to drive. Anything more than a Total Bithead, iBasso D2 or Fubar III will suffer from diminishing returns. If you're feeling daring you could get a Little Dot MK III tube amp...

If you do all your listening via a laptop or desktop get a D2 for the DAC/Amp combo and enjoy.

Went to IKEA with my sister yesterday and picked up the bookcase as well as the tabletop and legs for this desk, all wood and aluminum. A nice upgrade from the particleboard desks I've been used to over the past few years.

There are also a few goodies scattered about I picked up as well (the bamboo display, two frosted glass lamps on the sides of the desk, two of the magazine racks, and a bunch more I've not installed yet). Total cost for everything was about $350, $30something in tax. I've not gotten to the nitpicky stuff like wire management and vacuuming, will take care of that sometime tomorrow.

Also bought but did not post a picture of Wipeout HD Fury, not played too much of it though as I've been busy with work and the IKEA stuff.

Oh, and I've still not received the hard drive and memory I ordered ten days ago. UPS lost the package in their warehouse in my town, gotta love 'em.

Oh, and Bii, I'm really jealous about your fish tank! I've had plenty of freshwater tanks but I've always wanted a salt water tank. I'm just always hesistant since I don't know how much maintenance it could be compared to fresh water.

For me, it's not any more difficult than maintaining a freshwater tank. Everyday I come home I do a feeding of flakes or dry mysis shrimp to my clownfish, which takes no more than a minute. Once per week, I test the water parameters (pH, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, calcium, salinity) and that takes about five minutes total. I also do a 10-15% water change by siphoning 3 gallons of water from the tank and tossing it out. I replace it with the same amount from a new batch of mixed saltwater. I don't check my lights as it turns on by itself from a built-in timer on my surge protector. I do get algae growing on the glass of my tank but my snails take care of that, and the algae on the rocks/sand gets cleaned up by the hermit crabs and shrimp. I do have a magnetic algae scrubber but I've only had to use it a few times where the snails haven't grazed yet. Lastly, the temperature is controlled by the submersible heater and I have two thermometers running at the same time to make sure it's as stable as it can be.

Come to think of it, I'd be more concerned of the cost than actual maintenance. Start up costs for a saltwater aquarium far outweighs that of a freshwater.

I couldn't resist this week's steam sales. These games are at an incredible value, as well as the majority of games currently on sale. Missing out on Men of War at $7.50 is something one shouldn't do.

Time to lock myself in a room and not let my steam backlog get too carried away.

I also accidentally bought a month's worth of Age of Conan, in an attempt to try the trial. It looks beautiful, hopefully they've improved the game enough so that I don't feel ripped off.

One of 2 circa 1975 Wharfedale Linton 3XP hi-fi speakers, for which I paid the princely sum of twenty english pounds. Sound is decent - they are currently the rear speakers in my 7.1 system. They really built them to last in the 70s! All they needed were a bit of beeswax and some elbow grease - you wouldn't think they were getting on for 35 years old.

Apart from the huge Mario figure it's hard to see the DS / Wii cases on this picture that I took with the DSi, so here's the list:

- Final Fantasy Tactics A2
- Dragon Quest 5
- Pokemon Platinum
- Wii Sports Resort
- Anno: Create a New World

Finally got my first apple product ever, I will probably be getting an Iphone 3gs when my upgrade is available, but this was a really good deal, traded a PSP I got from Dell during those crazy $110 deals straight up for it. Its a 8GB 2g with a perfect screen, back is scratched a little but no big deal. Its already jailbroken, but still trying to figure out exactly what that lets me do and how to do it.

Nice set, I started with a td-3 kit, now i've replaced everything (except for the 2 symbols) and now its more like a td-12 kit. Let the upgrading begin :D

Here are some of my pickups from the weekend at Comic-con 2009. Good times, btw!

Coraline bluray + 3d glasses.
MGS: TTS (got it for €1,- and it's as good as new)
and my second attempt at a Vigo poster. This one is printed on actual poster paper and looks great, very sharp. Shame I don't have a better place to hang it at the moment.

Where did you get this, who made it and what's it called? It might make a fine gift for a friend of mine :D.
It's called Uprising. As for who made it, I have no idea. I saw it on the Comic-con floor with my friend and had to get it for the wifey. :D

Holy shit, not so long ago the cheapest I could find was 50 euro. Not to mention it's a Dutch copy so where did you get it?

This was waiting for me in work this morning:

Dragon Quest Slime Speaker Stand

The DS Lite fits in there too. I'm not sure about a classic DS. Don't have mine to hand.

The sound quality is about as good as you'd expect. Also it runs on battteries so its (kind of) portable. Not too comfortable for playing non-Stylus heavy games (like Castlevania). Perfect for Gyakuten Kenji though.

I think this will be my last pick up until I go to Japan next week.

Something for my Wii.

Something for my truck/iPhone.

Sony MEXBT3700U
Works wonderfully with my iPhone 3GS and everything thing else I've thrown at it. USB hard drives with 60,000+ songs? Maybe that's pushing it (too long to load all the track data, but it does work). Love it. Syncs the phone via voice and AD2P a few seconds after I start the truck. And the integrated microphone picks up just fine (my 5 year old who talks low can carry on a conversation on it and everyone can hear her fine) Love, love, love it.

I like the cut of your jib. Lammy rules! Too bad you are playing it on PS3 though, I tried but kept failing at it. something about 1 frame lag? Anyone care to explain this?

Finally picked up an antenna for my HDTV! TV broadcasts in HD look really good, and even the non-HD stuff looks good now that the days of "analog snow" are over! :D Having 30 digital channels, most in 720p/1080i is nice and all, but I don't watch much TV at all to begin with, just fox for Animation Domination, House, and Hell's Kitchen, and ABC for AFV and The Goode Family. Still, it is nice to be able to see them once again! 30 USD well spent.

Before anyone asks, I have never had cable, and I never will. Fuck paying for TV!

:D It does indeed :) I just took the pic on my TV when I downloaded it, it now resides on my PSP memory stick ;)

Yeah, there's definitely lag, I bought the game waaay back when it came out in Japan on PSone and was affected by it then too. Haven't really got into playing it yet but from what I remember, once you 'click' with slightly delaying your button presses, you can fly through the game :)
