Official Xbox 360 Madden '11 Online Dynasty Thread: Ball & Juice edition

I'd vote that if we can turn injuries on and off during the franchise then turn them off until after the patch. If we can't change it during the season, then we need to leave them on. Otherwise we'd basically be playing a preseason franchise until the patch comes out because everyone would want to restart so injuries would be in after the patch.

You can definitely turn them on/off at will. I'd say off initially then back on again, but I really don't have a problem if we do injuries on from the beginning.

I am willing to be that injuries are tuned to occur more frequently in exhibition mode/random online mode than they are in franchise modes.

I have one of the thinnest rosters around and I don't really care either way. I mean if we play with them off then it's like playing in the old league daddy days where injuries only mattered if a roster update took a guy away from you.

Ray Lewis already warned your ass. I don't wanna hear excuses from anyone this year. THE PROTIP IS RIGHT THERE IN THE COMMERCIAL

That's like first quarter for Addai this upcoming season
Then you can trade him for peanuts and he'll float around the league for a while until he ends up on FA list permanently.

Speaking of which, you gotta decide what you're doing with FA, FMT. Be a decider!

Speaking of Dead Rising, is anyone getting DR 2? If so are you getting it for PS3 or 360?

I'm getting it for single player but hey if anyone wants to throw down online I'm in. This and Halo are going to wrap up my game purchases for the year unless something I don't expect comes out and wows me (basically every game that isn't a huge name is something I don't expect. :/).

Yeah, I can see myself picking up DR2, as well as Reach.

I voted off but I don't care either way. Consider my vote neutral.

Injuries is a risk everyone faces so I'm fine with it.

Yeah, I was a little paranoid about the injuries first...then I remembered that everyone is going to have to deal with it. I say do it, 100% on board.

I agree with keeping them on, it adds to the nature of the game. It's broken till patch three anyway so the player with the less injuries and best Red Zone TD % will win the league this year. The good news for the rest of us is a stocked draft class ;)

Damn PS3 increase in Madden sales year over year saved Tiburon's ass. Now Tiburon is gonna say GameFlow is a huge success.

2010:

1. Madden NFL 11 (Electronic Arts, Xbox 360) -- 920,800
2. Madden NFL 11 (Electronic Arts, PlayStation 3) -- 893,600

2009:

Madden NFL 10 (360) / Electronic Arts / 928,000
Madden NFL 10 (PS3) / Electronic Arts/ 665,000

Btw suck it down DM Starcraft 2 sold another 300K at retail alone (not online sales!) in August 2010!

Blizzard's PC game Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty -- had it qualified as a console video game -- actually would hit the charts with more than 300,000 copies sold. "In fact, PC games retail dollar sales saw a 35% increase over last August," Frazier says.

Aren't they doing those retarded tournaments on the PS3 this year? Think they did it on the PS3 last year as well. Pretty good sales, unfortunately.

Wow, way to be a smug, ignorant dick and ignore the hard word Ian and the boys put in. Strat Pad played a big role too.

I don't know about the tourneys, but I think you are right they are on PS3 the past couple years. The better numbers are from PS2 owners starting to buy PS3s and now buying Madden on PS3, but EA will spin this number. Might backfire though as new users bought a busted game. Wonder if they'll be back next year.

doesn't matter, you can start playing your games immediately (so long as your opponent in week 1 is also signed in!)

i like rors idea, i just have no idea how to implement it! if rors will do that stuff and spell everything out.... aaaayyyyeeee!
I'll do all the work. It's not that hard. I just need the new rosters. Ok, here it is in bullet point form.

  • Each player has a value attached based on skill level and position (see at the bottom of this post)
  • I add up all the numbers to see what the "total salary" is for your team
  • The cap for each team is 120 (or whatever the decider decides :p)

Free agency works like this:
  • Everyone looks over the list of free agents and sees who they want.
  • Everyone tells me how much they want to bid on each player as long as it doesn't put you over the cap
  • At the deadline, I award the player to whichever team bid the most and that player will have that value attached for the rest of the season.

Trading works like this:
  • Players traded will incur a cap penalty to prevent high talent from flying about at a whim
  • Penalties are as follow: 15 points for 95+, 10 for 90+, 8 for 85+, 5 for 80+, and 1 for 75+

Sample of total team salaries before the new roster update:
Bears - 71
Bengals - 97
Bills - 52
Broncos - 80
Browns - 65
Cardinals - 85
Chargers - 95
Chiefs - 57
Colts - 117
Cowboys - 100
Saints - 121
Raiders-70

Good game goldlion, lol, that Pick 6 you threw was such BS, my player jumped up like 5 feet in the air to snag that one

I'll take it, made the game not be a total blowout :lol
