Man. Ole' Bill O'Rielly is really going after Sanders now, huh. Socialist, will destroy the economy, will destroy wall street, will make every capitalist leave, leave people without health care, would lose every state to Trump (lol).

He said that Trump is Abraham Lincoln when compared to Sanders.

Are these people on the same planet?

6. More tasty nuggets for Hillary: It seemed likely that Hillary would one day regret saying “I want those nuggets, gimme gimme all your tasty little nuggets” after she uttered it in a speech back in 2009. She may finally be forced to answer for why she demanded “more slippery little nuggets for hungry Hillary” seven years ago, and we’ll see if voters are willing to forgive her for it.

7. Go to prison: At the 1996 New Hampshire primaries, Hillary delivered the shortest and fiercest speech of her career: “Go to prison.” Twenty years later, this hard-line stance is less popular than ever. Americans don’t want to go to prison.

lmao

Bill and some other people have also said that Trump would win large portions of the Black and Hispanic vote if Bernie got elected.

Then shouldn't he be fine with Bernie?

He plays up being independent for his show (he loves Trump) and being after the facts, but he's as Republican leaning as one can be.

Hell, he thinks "secularism" is destroying/has destroyed this country, so.

IS THIS A W?

On the Democratic side Hillary Clinton remains dominant with 59% t0 26% for Bernie Sanders, and 5% for Martin O'Malley. The North Carolina numbers speak to the demographic advantages that may cause things to work out fine for Clinton even if she does struggle in Iowa and New Hampshire. Among African Americans, which are about a third of the primary electorate in North Carolina, Clinton leads Sanders 77/12 with O'Malley getting 2%. Clinton's favorability with black voters is 81/11, compared to 43/20 for Sanders. That overwhelming advantage with black voters should make the South a very strong region for Clinton as the race moves to its states. Clinton is also benefiting from having much more committed support- 78% of her supporters say they are definitely going to vote for her, compared to 50% of Sanders' who say the same.

I think that Sanders has missed his chance to be able to connect to black voters considering how late it is in the game. It's going to be interesting to see in 2024 whether or not a Socialist candidate that focuses more on the black vote can get the nomination though...

Another thing is even if Bernie would win some of those states, due to the way the delegates are allocated, he may not net many (if any) over Hillary. I think we all agree Hillary will win every southern state by at least double digits. That will allow her to amass delegates like Obama did in 2008. Winning Wisconsin by 2 points isn't going to give him many extra delegates. Proportional representation becomes a factor. He can't scrape by, scrape by, scrape by.

I wouldn't downplay momentum. If Sanders wins NH and Iowa his numbers will see an increase. Will it be enough to take SC and NV? Not SC but he could put up a fight in Nevada and turn Super Tuesday into an actual fight rather than the blowout people expect. I could easily see him putting up fights in Colorado, Mass, Minnesota, and Virginia, and obviously taking VT. Should he win those states, they would be on pretty even ground. After that it gets fuzzy. I can see Sanders (currently) putting up a fight in Oregon, Washington, and some NE states like CT, MD, RI, ME, but I can't say about anything else.

Also, another thing to keep in mind. Obama and Hillary were basically tied among Democrats. Hillary has a significant advantage over Bernie with registered Democrats. So, a candidate who leads among AA, Hispaics, women, registered Democrats and Seniors looks a heck of a lot better than a candidate who leads only among the young and Independents.

I think more people identify as Independent now than people think. The Republicans have isolated a lot of their former base, and those people probably aren't too fond of Hillary. Bernie is making headway with Hispanics and Women, as well as having decent favorability among likely democratic voters (despite GAF's insistence that Democrats hate him). Things don't look amazing for him, but they aren't all doom and gloom.

Hillary internals has her winning NV by 25 and SC by 35 so yeah he's going to get eviscerated on Super Tuesday. At this point IA is still likely to go for her.

I mean, I think most Democrats nailed this one. Most Democrats had the working theory that many Republicans were just Republicans because of racism and Trump is the most openly racist candidate we've seen in a while. Centrists tried to pretend that Republicans hadn't attracted a massive amount of racists and they were badly burned.

I wonder if there'll be a socialist minority candidate or if there's any available. I feel like Harris/Booker probably align with Obama although 8 years from now will be a very different time.

Right to Rise's attack on Christie here will work, but it's disgusting and terrible. Go home and cry that your mother hates you, Jeb.

I doubt anyone else is dumb enough to self-identify as a socialist, even in 2024.

Come on Jeb, switch to attacking Kasich already.

I'm just saying, if you can get 35% of the vote in Democratic primary off of being a Socialist despite your supporters being young and getting no minority votes, then a minority with an older, more-likely to vote generation of people liking Socialism (Bernie fans will be 30 years old by 2024) could win the nomination possibly...

Welp, Trent Lott just told me he'd take Trump over Cruz if he had to choose.
They all really hate Cruz, don't they? It's going to be hilarious when Trump becomes the "establishment" candidate.

You have a point, though a primary without a Hillary candidate is going to have more credible opponents throwing their hat in and likely splitting that vote.

I think this movement risks dying with Bernie like Ron Paul and libertarianism.
