I can't speak for everyone, but the whole reason I tune into Maddow (apart from the rare interview she lands and the booze chat) is the snark. The history lessons are certainly nice and I wish more talking heads did that type of connect-the-dots background explanation, but at the end of the day this is pure political entertainment for me. This is mostly true but I think slightly incorrect on one detail. The voters who are repelled by Trump right now are the ones who are currently registered as Republicans. The voters who went from Republican to independent mostly did so because they're so far right they view both parties as corrupt.

Basically, the idea that independents are the ones in the middle is almost always false. The mean independent is in the middle but the distribution is two-humped with a hump on either end of the continuum (and then also a bunch of voters with wildly inconsistent but extreme preferences, such as Huelen).

Green quoting works sometimes and not others. It's working for me today on mobile. Maybe a CDN issue?

I would not mind the ability to quote a tweet inline, even in plain text format. That is difficult on mobile.
