RETRO'S CANNED SONIC POST:
Sonic was never about speed, it's about momentum. Every game since the series made the transition to 3-D has made that mistake though. Sonic is not a roller coaster, he's a pinball (you'd think having a whole fucking game built on that premise would make it obvious...) . You don't just rev him up and press forward until you beat the level (outside of the intro stages and later iterations); you have to maintain that momentum by avoiding obstacles because the more divergent routes through the levels require you have enough speed to get into them. You're meant to launch out of a half-pipe, see something you never noticed before and try to get enough speed to make it up there, not just pop a sick flip, shout "GOTTA GO FAST!" before grinding on a rail for reasons. Sonic, for the most part, is about memorizing / anticipating things that stop / slow you so you can avoid them, granting access to more rewarding / safer routes.

Also; Castlevania > Mario > Sonic. Come at me, I got Castlevania posts for daaaaaaays.

RETRO'S OBLIGATORY(?) SEMI ON-TOPIC POST:
Samantha Bee's show has grown on me a lot. Comedy Central needs to ditch Trevor Noah and break some glass ceilings of their own.

A bit old but I hope Elizabeth Warren ends up supporting legalizing marijuana here in MA. Hell, I hope the proposition wins out. I support people's access to the green.

I have all of y'all in my prayers. Maybe sweet caramelized baby Jesus can come down and take off his baby sandals and slap some taste into you people.

Pffttt. I'll no sell that slap. I got good taste already!

RETRO'S OTHER SONIC POST
So many crazy sentiments flying around
- sonic games are bad, wtf? They had intricate level design, classic tunes, and a unique sense of speed that no other platformers at the time could offer.
- the snes had an amazing library, it was not all "collectathon crap"
- kirby's epic yarn is devoid of challenge, regardless of its artistic merit
- bernie should have won

So, tell me fam, should I give more money to Strickland or send it to Ross instead?? I got $100 that needs to go to someone right now.

And, for Kev, $100 is a small denomination of currency us poors use.

Angie Craig needs some dough too fam.

I support legalizing weed but damn, I can't stand the smell. It's like funky cheddar brocolli.

I'm not big on smoke near me. People can smoke, but do it way over there!

OTHER RETRO'S SONIC POST

Fixed that for you. =)

Also, maybe it's just me but I've always felt like Kibry's niche is meant to be exactly how the character looks; soft, fluffy and fun. I'm convinced that Kibry games aren't really challenging by design, and that's okay because every now and then a fun little bit of cotton candy is good for the soul. Epic Yarn is literally out to give you the warm fuzzies. I was grinning from ear to ear the whole time I played it.

Also, I'm kind of glad _Retro got banned, it was confusing to see the weird comments about his polarizing posts where people forgot the underscore... not that our paths crossed often.

The Bannon call out I think will probe the most damning thing going forward because now they can't fire him along with the fact that even if they could it would be the third campaign shakeup further cementing he has no idea how to run this. It also was the perfect time to deflect away from the Clinton Foundation
The mosy illustrative thing about this all was how much these endless campaign fuck ups put to death thr lie that trump only hires the best ppl. He is a joke and a half

While I would never purchase or partake in marywanna myself because, you know, Drugs are for Squares and I would never, ever, ever do that....

But, theoretically, if I did from time to time enjoy some of the pot, I would only partake in edibles, because my allergies make it impossible to smoke it. Plus, I hate smelling like it. If I had a recipe for pot brownies with marshmallow that were delicious, I would use something like that.

Angie Craig needs some dough too fam.

$25 bucks her way. And I'm tapped out for the week.

What does weed smell like?

Cat piss and bad decisions.

I live in BC. The constant smell of weed all over the neighborhood has been a formative part of my development.

I don't like it.

When I used to work at the low vision clinic, there was a guy who smoked pot like in his car before he would come in to the office. I was in a tiny little room with him for an hour at a time. I got a contact high everytime he came in. That, and the whole room had to be fumigated after he left. It smelled soooo bad.

Most posters are probably referring to how it smells when smoked, which admittedly is bad, but it actually smells incredibly good prior to being smoked. I was surprised how good it smells

My wife and I had these phenomenal chocolate key lime edibles. Of course, they are playing with dosages in Colorado since we opened Pandora's Box and the dosage was so high it was actually a bad experience.

My friend said that good weed smells like the asshole of a skunk. Didn't ask him how he knows what a skunks asshole smells like....
Cook some spinach, but accidentally burn it. Voilà
True answer: it smells unique like any other burning herb.
Cat piss and bad decisions.
Wipe your finger on your taint and then smell it. Now smell sod. Now smell both at the same time. That's what weed smells like.

Jill Stein.

So which one is Jill?

PURCELLVILLE, Va. -- Mike Pence definitely chose the wrong place to give a stump speech.

Trump's VP nominee railed against Hillary Clinton in northern Virginia Saturday afternoon -- but he chose to do it at an evangelical Christian college with a history of anti-Trump sentiment. Students protested outside, while inside students stood in silent protest until they were ejected mid-speech.

The protests and poor attendance at the speech at Patrick Henry College illustrate the challenges that Trump has appealing to evangelical Christians, especially younger ones, who are turned off by his tone, his campaign ideas and his personal history -- and are not at all assauged by his choice of Pence for his running mate.

"The PHC student body as a whole is very anti-Trump. A lot of them say, 'I don't like him but I'm going to turn up my nose and vote for him because I like Hillary even less.' But overall there is a severe disgust with Trump,” said Sebastian Lopez, a junior studying political theory at the school who was protesting the speech, holding a sign for hours outside in the blazing mid-day sun.

Good article, but I have to ask: shouldn't Trump and Pence be campaigning in places that don't like them? Trump got criticized for making African-American outreach speeches outside of black areas. But if Trump makes a speech in an evangelical area that doesn't like him (I thought evangelicals were overwhelmingly for him) then it's the "wrong place to make a speech".

Liberal media bias! Or whatever.

The protests for the swing area of Loudoun County continued out in the street outside Patrick Henry College’s main entrance, where students held signs reading ‘PHC is Not Trump Country,” “Immigrants Make America Great” and “For Christ and Liberty, Not Bigotry And Idiocy.”
This warmed my heart.😃 Good to see some truly sane and sensible students over there. Such a disaster though, hah.

White Evangelicals are Trump's strongest demo, he's doing better there than Romney or McCain were.

You should listen to that podcast. Two Cruz campaign workers found out that there are two groups of evangelicals. One group goes to church every week and basically lives the evangelical lifestyle, but the other self-identifies as an evangelical and doesnt go to church every week. The first group overwhelmingly supported Cruz while the other supported Trump

This college is obviously filled with some hardcore evangelicals.

I applied to Patrick Henry College when I was a senior in high school. I can't remember if I got accepted or not. I was accepted most places I applied. If I had it to do over, I'd have gone to Flagler College. But, whatever.

I mean there are so many places that hate them it'd be hard to not go somewhere where people don't like them!

Evangelicals are a complex group of voters, especially the young ones.

So is that just a white person, like, saying he believes in the G-O-D and so he puts himself as evangelical?

ALSO, you have got to be shitting my balls with that Jill Stein tweet from a little back. That's not real, RIGHT!? She didn't tweet about dank memes and then push her followers to follow a new person, tell me 2016 hasn't hit that level and become the even darker timeline.

Please not Lester Holt. Not in the Presidential debate, at least. He's never hosted a debate before. Plus, I find him tiring. Maybe give him the Veep debate to get his feet wet for 2020 or something.
In what world is Lester Holt tiring?
Lester is bae. :p
No, but seriously, I think he would make a great debate moderator from what I've seen of his interviews and anchoring on NBC.

If I remember right, the podcast makes the point that to get into the right country clubs and interact with the community it makes a lot of sense to simply identify as an evangelical even though you simply might be a 'normal' Christian. Hell, they might even believe it.

Who knows, evangelical might be similar to socialism. Both have definite definitions, but people broaden it to the point of confusion and worthlessness.
