I don't think I've ever seen a debate performance somehow get retroactively worse within the week. He's going to end up shaking his head so much it going to be like that Star Trek episode where Captain Pike keeps saying "no."

Because there is less time to recover from it. Yes, early voting has started, but we only have some half million votes cast thus far IIRC in an election where early voting will be some 40% of the electorate. Meanwhile, if you can land a fatal blow in October yoy can dominate with election day voters and stop the other side from rebounding meaning a larger margin a victory.

That's true, but this is how this stuff plays out. You can't release everything too fast. After the first debate the Alicia story got play for a bit and Trumps numbers went down.

This story coming out 2 days before the debate is by design. It works in that Trump is now focused on this. I have no doubt his campaign is trying to keep him from his phone. This gets brought up on Sunday. No doubt.

The shit you release later is more imo used to depress turnout. Dont' forget. Millions vote on election day. The more shit that keeps coming out the more R voters may just stay at home because they can't stomach to vote for him.

Let's say that Trump or Wiki or the Russians does release something that's potentially threatening to Clinton's chances.

Team Clinton has even worse cards to play than this. They can move the media narrative along.

Cheating doesn't lose you your family often in politics anymore. This is far beyond that, and tbh I'm not even sure I think Clinton will go there.

Of course there's also the possibility of third parties releasing that information to the press, which Mook would have no control over.
