IF Rubio in fact had a good debate I wonder if he can close the gap in FL at least? This is all pre-debate...

Also I wish Cruz was in second place instead. Just to keep Rubio far away.

Maybe I'm just remembering history wrong, but did this happen during the last election? I could have sworn I remember the moderator's explicitly telling the audience not to clap or cheer. I mean you're right that the media has been a on downward spiral for a long time now so it's not like this is unexpected, but I guess I mistakenly remember presidential debates having this little modicum of sacredness enforced.

Differences between primary and ge debates

Good.

As I hope it is.

I don't know man...something inside me has awoken to where I have an instantly negative reaction to anyone supporting Sanders in real life. Fairly or not

I need a drink.

Fuck me, this election is getting to me.

I can empathize, and it's tempting to gloat profusely (I have to fight the urge internally).. but man, the first presidential loss is really painful. (I've definitely supported my share of losers over the years.)

It's been 8 years since the last Democratic heartache during a presidential campaign (Hillary '08), so many of Bernie's younger supporters are going to be going through this process for the very first time. Oww.

There is no doubt in my mind, Carson had the best line of the night: I will look at the fruit salad of their life.

That needs to be worked into the tagline of his next book.

My guess it is some Nevada momentum, and some Democrats deciding they're not nominating someone to lose the general because Trump is scaring them.

Dem voters are becoming more serious, like the Republicans thought theirs would.

It's really a sad day for democracy if the strategic vote has to be determined by a rogue billionaire knowingly threatening to sabotage the Democratic candidate with a third party campaign.

For all the hate about Bernie supporters maybe not falling in line, how is Bloomberg getting such a free pass here?
I don't think Bloomberg is getting a pass, I don't think anybody here would want him to jump in. But he'd see an opportunity to come in the middle, not to specifically sabotage the Democratic candidate, but to present himself as a centrist alternative to both the candidates who would aim to get voters from both sides of the spectrum.

Although, what the outcome of that would be and whether it would have any material impact, I don't have a clue.

Trump was clearly attacked by the RNC tonight, and yet I think all it will do is galvanize the base around him. Rubio interrupted him like 100 times and whined like a baby.

Even if Rubio does benefit from tonight, the polling had him at death's door before the debate, it's not like a small bounce is going to doom Trump.

Watching the Bernie meltdowns on Chris Matthews confirms that Bernie came off looking badly there. I thought it was just me, but others have confirmed, including my bestie who used to feel the Bern.

Yeah, this is a bad time for Sanders to be cratering in the polls. Especially since Saturday will be another bad night for him.

I think some of our echo chamber is at play

Rubio def is getting a bump from this

From whom, though?

No one who previously said they were for Trump is going to switch. Trump's appeal is not based on his position on issues because he has no real positions outside build the wall. Trump knows his supporters and he played to them. Strongly.

Trump didn't gain anyone, but he doesn't need to at this point. Rubio got what he could from Jeb!. Cruz fucked up pretty well, but Cruz's people are not naturally Rubio people.

This was just Trump blundering his way through per usual. The difference was people hit him back. His supporters love him to see him do that shit.

And I'm literally dying listening to Wolf try to justify this clusterfuck.

I say let them have their fun. Super Tuesday is probably going to be hell for them. I mean, I've been there. It sucks. 2008 was hard as hell on me. I wouldn't wish it on anyone....except Weaver and Devine.

So....

SO MUCH THIS

I can't wait until Weaver and Devine are gone.

Seriously though, why in the world did Cruz try to go after Trump in the subject of polls? Trump has memorized more polls than Cruz has ever even looked at.

Came off looking badly where?

There was a special edition of Hardball with Chris Matthews. Matthew snatched Bernie's soul on several issues. Bernie came off looking like a pissed off professor. I mean, it was a terrible, terrible display. Matthews took on his "revolution" shtick, and even landed blows against him on SOCIALISM!

I don't drink or smoke tobacco but I will buy a cigar and wine just for watching that speech. In my bathrobe.

Pipe or GTFO with your non-establishment smoking device.

You gotta have a pipe. And a monocle. This is establishment 101.

Ya'll keep missing the damn meetings.

Totally subjective but I thought the laughing was off putting as well. Gotta sit there like Christie and maintain confidence and composure not grin like a little school boy who finally landed a punch.

Ah, my lack of cable strikes again.

Though I don't know how you people do these things to yourselves and stay sane. I haven't watched a single debate or town hall this cycle.

Whatever. No one really expected Bernie to win once Biden decided not to run. The fact that he has come THIS CLOSE of Clinton is just amazing.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/ep..._democratic_presidential_nomination-3824.html

I mean, look at this beauty. 5 points of difference. Who would have thought? He gave a nice and big scare to the corrupt, neoliberal loving Democratic machine represented by Clinton. She will have to make concessions if she wants Sanders support. He has the mandate of almost half the Democratic electorate.

FCMA.

I certianly can't see it hurting trump. His floor is locked in. Maybe it lowers his ceiling somewhat, but that isn't going to help Rubio anytime soon
