So Trump's healthcare plan looks like pretty standard Republican fare. Health savings accounts, competition across state lines, Medicaid becomes a block grant program, price transparency.

Certainly won't be running to the left of Hildabeast on that one.

Block progroms can be good if the the subdivision functions favor big States too. Check limits need to go way up.

GE Donald "Laziness is a trait in blacks" Trump will be interesting

An interesting approach to government that :p

They (Cenk) were the "professional left" that pissed of President Obama so much in the past so it's consistent they'd be big Bernie Sanders stans.

I suppose that's true.

It will be interesting to watch what happens in Florida over the next two weeks now. Millions is being spent on anti-trump media campaigns in the borough, and whether that will have an effect is going to be key to securing the nomination.

It's worth noting we've been here before with Florida. In 2012 Gingrich had just won South Carolina, and had a huge lead and momentum off that win going into Florida. Romney and his Superpacs flooded the airwaves with Gingrich material and managed to tank his ratings in a very short time, reversing a 10 point loss into a 10 point lead for Romney.

They could even use the same campaigns - against Gingricj they focuses on his 'baggage', the numerous scandals in his history, the personal stuff, the working with democrats etc. The same campaigns could be relabelled for Trump.

Trump voters are loyal though. He probably really could shoot someone and not lose them.

So how likely is a brokered convention? I was at first satisfied with a Trump nomination, but a brokered convention sounds literally like a once in a lifetime opportunity. When are we realistically ever going to get the chance to experience one!?

50/50 toss-up. Non-ergodic situation.

Difference is that Gingrich only started leading post that SC bounce, Trump has been holding a steady lead for a long time nationally and in States.

I am sure the negative advertising will have some effect but whether it's big enough for Rubio to win is a question.

If the GOP wants to pour millions into negative advertising against their most likely nominee in Florida, one of the most crucial swing states, I say let them.

And if they want to do it in Ohio too, well that's even better.

It'll be interesting to see if Trump actually ponies up for a real media campaign in Florida to counter, he's been pretty spend thrift to this point.

So far [as of 1st Mar], some $10-million has been spent on advertising for Donald Trump, compared with $32 million for Hillary Clinton, $49 million for Marco Rubio, and almost $85 million for Jeb Bush, according to data from Ad Age.

The Romney bashing Trump thing is true, and he uses lame lines that sound handcrafted by the RNC.

I think I'm officially done with Morning Joe. He's an insufferable moron. I used to watch it for TRUMP but he doesn't even come on anymore.

team Romney out there doling out excerpts of his speech hours before it begins. already getting hammered by donald. hilarious. this guy really thinks trump voters are going to give him a fair listen? delusional.

Weekend after the Florida primary! Meh lineup this year overall, but Saturday (main stage) is fantastic. What better way to relax? Unfortunately it's an outdoor event so I don't think there are any foam parties. Maybe at the smaller stages? Can anyone give a testimonial here? 100% serious. Guy could use a good party after the hell he's in.
Man, you got Pendulum coming back from the dead. Lineup is already awesome.

Currently digging through a closet in my house because my mom told me that a letter she got from Richard Nixon in 1973 should be in there somewhere and I desperately want to read it for some reason

It's just extraordinarily mitt. It's so weak. Why does he get to be an elder statesman again? He's been rejected by the party more times than Charlie Crist.

I like Hillary's "Break down barriers and Make America Whole" line

If she's asked why she's running, or what her message is that should be what she responds with. She hasn't had a clear sound bite or reason as to why she wants to run like Bernie or Trump have.

Its an effort to denounce Trump but to also re-brand the GOP. The establishment already admitted in their post 2012 GE loss that the party has become to synonymous with anti-Black, Spanish, immigration, and generally bigoted against all minorities.

Yet 4 years later not only have they not changed but they have let Trump take advantage of the base they have courted for decades and stir them up into a frenzy that they NOW realize is extremely dangerous.

I think Romney's effort is to change the image of the Republicans, distance himself and party leaders from his hate talk, and try to regain some semblance of a legitimate political party.

He knows Trump's supporters won't listen to him, I think this is more for his and the party's image in the general public's eye.

Starting the show talking about Clinton e-mails...
Show contains weekly call-in interview from the Republican frontrunner where they suck his balls...

How is this not a Fox News show? With that said, I think I prefer Joe to Mika

"they wouldn't offer immunity if they were doing nothing. There's like a thousand fbi investigators on this. When I was a congressman, they used to take us into SECURE ROOMS to...you know...the campaign and supporters are just so wrong."

Is there a precedent for how much vitriol Trump has been getting from his own party? We have major current and former officeholders, columnists, pundits, and intellectuals from all over the country vowing #NeverTrump.

Hillary just sent me an email titled "President Trump". #badoptics
Or perfect optics to scare you with the nightmare scenario..

"He will be coming, fear him. Donate to the DNC."

Also I thought Romney was on this afternoon.. Anything of note besides him wagging his finger at the GOP?

Now New Jersey's largest newspaper:

Chris Christie, resign for N.J.'s sake

Christie's distraught expression as he stood with Trump during the press conference on Super Tuesday showed that even he can barely stomach this act of hypocrisy and opportunism. He looked like he had been taken hostage, or hit in the head.

If you wonder how he could muscle himself through such a phony moment, remember that he had practice.

Over the last year he has flipped his position on guns, immigration, and a full menu of other core issues. He has lied over and over, about Bridgegate, the budget, his imaginary friendship with the King of Jordan, and so on. It has become a habit, one that drains his credibility like grains of sand slipping through an hourglass.

Bad news for Bernie in FL: "Voters under 35 are making up less than 5% of the people who have voted so far

2. Voting Age: The primary electorate in both parties is older. In New Hampshire, where Sanders defeated Clinton, the exit polls found about 50% of the electorate was over the age of 45. In Florida, it was expected that as much as 80% of the electorate will be over the age of 50, and based on the early Vote By Mail returns (which are older than the population), that 80% target looks very likely. In fact, Sanders sweet spot - voters under 35, are making up less than 5% of the people who have voted so far, compared to the low 20s in New Hampshire.

.

Give us a summary? Haven't been keeping up as much as should.

Not an expert, but this is what I have read about from the Economist. Basically, there is a huge scandal around Brazil's state owned oil company, Petrobas, about kickbacks to politicians or something along those lines. Most of the kickbacks involve the center-left to left worker's party (PT). The president of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, is from PT, but she hasn't been implicated. So at the same time that this investigation is ongoing at Petrobas, Brazil's economy has gone down the tubes, largely due to fall in commodities and to awful management by PT. Dilma, to her credit, realized that her previous economic policy was stupid and is supporting liberalizing center-right reforms to get the economy going again. However, the center right is refusing to support these policies, or anything else that the government does, because they are pissed about Petrobas, and that Dilma won an election in 2014 before the consequences of her economic stupidity had become apparent. The center right is also trying to impeach Dilma now on a technicality.

Yeah, I voted for Bernie here(as much as I criticize him I still wanted to throw him a vote), but I've long expected him to get destroyed in FL.

Just terrible optics.

http://www.vox.com/2016/3/2/11146058/super-tuesday-results-delegates-trump-rubio

tl;dr, it's basically impossible for Rubio to win enough delegates to win the nomination and it's highly unlikely that Cruz can win enough delegates to win the nomination because of the moderate and non-Texas states coming up. Therefore, the only viable anti-Trump plan is to force a brokered convention where they try to steal the nomination from Trump.

They seem to be embracing that idea full out now. I keep seeing Republican talking heads keep claiming that if Trump doesn't have a majority you can't say they took it from him or it wasn't fair because "Non-Trump" would technically have more delegates combined.

They are already doing the PR spin on this on why it wouldn't be stealing it from Trump.

If Rubes gets absolutely blasted in FL, by like 10%+, I don't know how he can go on. He's going to be torn to shreds by the media.

That seems impossible, Trump is ahead by about 10-15 in polling and Rubio has a uncanny ability to close well in final votes.
