Trump in Maine has crashed on PredictIt based on some early results from a handful of early reporting counties. I would say that this is a good buy opportunity.

I will be truly stunned if Ted Cruz won Maine over Trump.

Benji, if you could read the part of my post that talks about unemployment in mississippi it would reasonably follow that the time frame we're talking about is five or ten years here.
So, would you care to provide an opinion about who is to blame for the lack of employment, or what should be done about it? or were you just unable to pass on the opportunity to flaunt your historical knowledge at someone
Why couldn't someone be unemployed for a hundred years or more? Times are tough.

And the person to blame is clearly Barack Hussein Obama and his refusal to outlaw banking in anything but silver.

Cruz vs. Trump in a brokered convention is like the dream scenario.

Don't know why you people start freaking out every time Cruz starts to win in a state.

Wait a minute. Nebraska allows absentee ballots for the caucus. So either spend hours of your Saturday standing around at a caucus, or just mail in a ballot and be done with it.

I'm hearing Hillary had a surprisingly strong showing of absentee ballots.

I'd find it hilarious if absentee ballots had any significant effect on the results.

She won't win, but if she can do better than getting beaten by 50 points a la 2008, then that's good. Same with Nebraska. Get above 40% and that limits Bernie's opportunities to net delegates.

Doesn't really matter, though. Both of those states will be wiped out by her win in Louisiana later today.

Wtf, that makes no sense. Why not just have a primary then.

Hilary's not winning Nebraska though. They are probably hoping it eats into delegate count.

Also politico says Bernie's probable wins in KS, NE and ME will give him momentum. Results in LA be damned

EXACTLY. And, Kasich is picking up a little (supposedly in Kansas) which is an opportunity to split delegates even further.

Bernie's delegate advisers should be the first to go if his grand revolution succeeds.

Bernie has spent 20% of his current ad budget in Kansas and Nebraska! Together, they're worth 58 delegates. I mean, I get he has to do something somewhere, and that's probably his best shot, but some of that money should have been thrown at Texas or freaking Tennessee where he could have actually mitigated some of the delegate advantages Hillary has.

Cruz's real challenge will be in the winner-take-all states. Maybe a brokered convention could be fun, with the eventual ticket outcome being Trump/Cruz.

My caucus doesn't start till 6, but my grandparents went this morning. There was one caucus for their entire county lol. IDK how the delegates at the county level translate to the 25 for Nebraska on the national level, but they said the split was 21 delegates for Bernie and 19 for Hillary.

Watching the crowd reaction to Rubio at CPAC says to me that Trump made the right call to cancel. Not sure I'll ever get over the "Little Marco" thing. It's so good. Waiting for Trump to make fun of his 3" heels at the next debate. Seriously. Don't know why he's let that slide for so long.

I like how Trump rallies have becoming Trump ranting about all his wins, on top of the old standard of talking about his awesome poll numbers. Also shitting on Sanders for being done. Not for the right reason, but still funny. This is an aside, but I really do respect his mostly scriptless and casual speaking style. Hardly "Presidential" but it's at least different. No teleprompter jokes for him!

Seeing that maybe Cruz has recovered in some of the more rural states now means Trump peaked there at exactly the right time. Enough for notable Super Tuesday wins and to move the calendar ahead where Cruz will struggle more.

Concerned that certain supporters will take Sanders wins today in rural, white states out of context and quite a new wave of "you're forgetting the reality of the situation."

Cruz would be amazing to run against. Why the hell would anyone here be upset if he beats Donald?

I mostly lurk here, but I personally think that any other year, Cruz would be a great person to run against. However, in a year where Donald Trump is openly saying the things that Cruz is smart enough to hide, Trump's the guy who has the ability to flip the Senate and maybe even the House blue.

Cruz's candidacy won't be so bad as that, though it probably gives the Democratic party the presidency. Plus, Cruz actually is building a campaign network on the ground that he can deploy against Clinton in the GE. Trump is doing whatever Trump does, but whatever he does is definitely not anything like long-term planning.

only 3% in but Cruz at 52% in Kansas - CNN

I should probably make a thread for all those who want to continue The Revolution after Bernie sells his soul to Hillary and her corporate overlords. With real candidates who will stand up to the establishment like Gloria La Riva, Alyson Kennedy, Mimi Soltysik Monica Moorehead, Rod Silva, and Elijah Manley.

But NOT any of these sell-out candidates.

Seems like Cruz may have gotten a lot of momentum after that last debate.

Let Cruz sweep. Who cares. As long as the nominee isn't Rubio I am happy. Cruz is a disaster.

Cruz is more of a religious nut than Trump. While I think he'd be easier to be, he feels more destructive if he somehow wins.

How dare you forget Two Corinthians. Trump loves Jesus. Jesus is YUGE for him. Wall idea? Straight from the Bible: Wall of Jericho.

Unfortunately, I don't know how the Delegate Equivalents work in Nebraska. I'm not sure if that's a good result for Hillary or not without knowing where we're talking about. However, those types of numbers, translated state wide, would help make sure she doesn't get blown out.

I'm on another forum and someone is actually trying to argue that Trump would make a good president. I have no idea whether or not to ignore it or engage and likely start a firestorm of political discussion (of which there is next to none on that board) :(

Agreed-- trump's utter lack of any organization at all seems to be the bigger factor.

Not sure how he won Nevada though.

Nevada was always an obvious candidate for an outlier given his association with casinos

If he had lost Nevada maybe that would have convinced him he needs to organize for caucuses though

After what happened to Trump in Oklahoma, Alaska, and Minnesota, Cruz doing very well today was to be expected. Closed primaries hurt Trump and he doesn't have the organization to win caucuses. Unless he's doing extremely poorly and missing thresholds it's not a big deal though.

These Kansas lines on CNN are crazy

Seems like Cruz may have gotten a lot of momentum after that last debate.

Let Cruz sweep. Who cares. As long as the nominee isn't Rubio I am happy. Cruz is a disaster.

Cruz always does well at Caucus's plus better gotv than the rest

or Gov. Brownback's endorsement hurt Rubio in Kansas and voters were like NOPE

Yeah, I still can't figure this out. Longest primary possible is best, and the chance to make Trump supporters stay home/vote 3rd party - why wouldn't you want that?

So this brokered convention is going to happen?

Only if we're very very very good boys and girls.

But we're really not on track atm. Trump could conceivably just take the delegates he needs outright.

Still, I could definitely see it happening if the anti-Trump vote actually manages to coalesce around a single candidate in time.
