The mayor of Anaheim is talking. Mentioned Hillary, someone shout "waterboard her!", another yells "Benghazi WAS a terrorist attack!"

Hillary is going to be arrested and tried on the capitol steps pretty soon. IMO Obama never forgave her for 08 and has been setting her up all along. He gave here the SOS position knowing she would shirk the law because that's the kind of dishonest person she is. Bernie is our only hope now. Open your eyes, superdelegates!

For real though predictit has the Cali primary at 80-20 in favor of Clinton lol. I sunk a bunch of money into Clinton yes and Bernie no and will sink more if this e-mail nonsense drives the prices lower.

I'm a 90's kid and I definitely don't remember it

I'm a 90's kid, and I remember it. I remember asking my parents what it was all about, and my mom said "Something to do with land the Clintons owned". I can't imagine that it was much of an interesting scandal then, and can't imagine anyone would give more of a fuck now. Unless he just decides to mention Vince Foster during every stump speech.

I think it is more likely than that!

It's probably worth remembering that DWS became the head of the DNC in exactly this deal -- it was part of the price of Clinton conceding to Obama. So it's not like there isn't precedent, and again, it's clear exactly how important everybody views the DNC head to be (important enough to be a concession, but not so important that it can't be a concession).

She has actually reversed her stance on all of her problematic positions.

Sure, maybe she did it for political reasons, but you know who else took homophobic and Islamophobic stances for political reasons and then reversed them later when it was expedient to do so? Because I bet you do!

Why not? Who cares? Hillary will control the convention anyway. Tulsi Gabbard was vice-chair of the DNC. It's not like the party doesn't trust her just because you guys don't trust her!

As to the "we don't negotiate with terrorists Berners" stuff, I think that's mostly pretty dumb overreaction. Obviously Hillary will give Bernie whatever she can give him that doesn't really matter. Then Bernie can go back and say he got a bunch of stuff and now he trusts Hillary, and everybody's happy. This is not a new idea, it's how we resolved the last like five crises in Congress. This is just sausage making. Hillary's supposed to be good at it.

Trying to crush Bernie and give him NOTHING to prove our power over him is just self-absorption. Always let your opponent lose gracefully, because you have to work with him again in the future.

Adam I <3 you but you're just reiterating all the stuff I just responded to.

Tulsi recanted all those crazy views she had! She cut an ad for Bernie specifically saying that she supports him because he's dovish.

Letting the losing candidate handpick the DNC chair is literally exactly what the loser got in the last Presidential primary.

I am not trying to say I love Tulsi, although you know she's a kama'aina, but I think that it's a pretty neat solution that resolves everyone's problems and probably doesn't change anything. What, exactly, are you thinking the DNC chair does that you don't trust Tulsi Gabbard to do? Why didn't anybody raise these concerns like four months ago when she was pretty obviously next in line to be the DNC chair but hadn't endorsed Bernie Sanders?

Remington literally makes the same post about FOIA, and I mean word for word the same post, every time anything happens about Hillary's emails. I already tried talking to him about how, like, having visibility into government actions is a good thing and I can't recommend the effort, unless you really enjoy reading the phrase "it's nothing but trash."

Pigeon, have I told you lately that I love you? Agreed on all counts.

And yeah. I felt like I was taking crazy pulls with Jack's FOIA hate. It's always the exact. Same. Phrase. Thanks to Meta for the receipts as always.

So, what is this about the emails on reddit?

Is it an hearing like the Benghazi one or something else? Is there any danger of Clinton being Indicted?

Sanders will still see a narrow but clear path.
Fixed.

Almost all of Cali have already voted by mail, I don't see why this development would change the odds of her winning my state. I guess people might not know about this and panic and sell their stock?

Looks like Chris Kyle (American sniper) lied about the number of his military honors

kinda strange

There have been a lot of questions about some of his stories (iirc Jesse Ventura sued him even?). I don't think there was any doubt about his skill but he felt the need to tell some tall tales for some reason. I think he also said he went on top of the superdome during Katrina and murdered looters with his rifle.

Well, the state Department doesn't indict people, so no. Basically, all Secretaries of State going back to Powell, Rice and Hillary didn't really follow the rules when it came to email preservation. Hillary, though, actually turned over her emails unlike Powell who just pretended the whole thing never happened. The report does show that people at State knew about it, and it wasn't like it was some big conspiracy to violate the law.

She broke no laws, so she won't be indicted for anything. This report just basically says what we all know...she probably shouldn't have used a private server.

Thanks for the explanation, apreciated.

What exactly is the endgame of this whole "roll out enough superdelegates to hit 2383 early" strategy, anyway?

I'm not sure it's a strategy, to be honest. At the very least, it gives her an easy out to not have to spend money in California. If she gets about 30 more supers, she can clinch after PR and the Virgin Islands. I don't think she'll get enough supers to secure before NJ, though. Once NJ closes, she'll be the nominee, though.

Well, let's consider it this way:

Who can do a good job as DNC chair for the next couple of years?

If there's a good choice, better than Gabbard and DWS, who is that?

I've always been on the "there is no way this guy is actually a legend" type of stuff with Kyle. Just like the Lone Survivor book, you can actually track the initial debriefings and combat reports to the book and to the movie and notice with each passing iteration it gets more and more insane and "legend" like.

Example for Lone Survivor

A recent article in Slate does a good job of summarizing how the number of enemy fighters has grown over time:

Ed Darack’s Victory Point: 8-10 fighters with a machine gun.
Luttrell’s after-action report: 20-30 fighters.
Lt. Murphy’s Medal of Honor citation: 30-40 fighters.
Lt. Murphy’s Medal of Honor Summary of Action: over 50 fighters.
Marcus Luttrell on the Today Show: 80-100 members of the Taliban.
Lone Survivor (memoir): 140-200 fighters.

Marcus Luttrell speeches after Lone Survivor: 200 fighters.

Long story short, people want to believe war movies and games are possible and shit, people get inflated egos and I'm sure the military isn't about to go out of the way to ease the hype of a national hero.

Broke my brothers heart when he read the book and I told him that it's most likely a gross exaggeration of it when you actually read all the stuff before it.

Although on a side note, my dad was part of the relief effort in Katrina and even he said that there were some type of "kill squads" on hotel roofs. Not sure how much I believe him, but he was down there for a month so who knows, sounds like bullshit.

Yes, Benghazi was a terrorist attack. It was acknowledged as such the next morning.

This non-issue didn't help the Republicans in the aftermath of the incident and it certainly won't help them now.

“OK, where was I? I gotta admit, it is a little distracting standing up here looking at them. So I’m gonna look over this way, and I’m gonna look over that way,” Clinton continued, laughing and pointing to different sections of the crowd. “I’m gonna look back there.”

Tbh, would love a video of this.

That said - I regret wanting Trump to be the nom; anxious as hell about his chances, and the media isn't helping.

MY QUEEN.

Hillary Clinton was a little distracted, she admitted Wednesday during a rally in Buena Park, California, when two men — one with a big “H” on his chest — took off their shirts.
“Hillary, they’re kicking us out because we don’t have our shirts on,” one guy said. “They’re making us leave,” another said, as the first added, “because we don’t have shirts on.”

“Well, um, you know what, as long as they don’t take anything else off,” Clinton said in jest.
“You know, you gotta make split decisions. That’s what leadership is about,” said the former secretary of state, who had to switch mics moments after the men in the crowd shouted about being ejected.
“OK, where was I? I gotta admit, it is a little distracting standing up here looking at them. So I’m gonna look over this way, and I’m gonna look over that way,” Clinton continued, laughing and pointing to different sections of the crowd. “I’m gonna look back there.”
