My biggest issue is probably over-incarceration. Economy a close 2nd.

Guns would prob be number 1, I just feel like its an issue like abortion - nothing is gonna change.

So.. he knows about the 10 million limit, right?
I can imagine the fundraising email..

"Tom, I know you're likely tapped-out. Times are tough, but this is about something bigger. I need you to go ho yourself out for $27-apiece services so that you can fund this debate. And if your skills aren't up to snuff, you can always sell plasma and bring the proceeds to our donation page. This debate needs to happen, and it's up to you on whether or not it becomes a reality."

I mean, it's very possible Sanders' campaign is in the red, or very close to it. We'll see fundraising numbers in a few days...

edit: I might pay to see Trump debate Warren.

Agreed. Although, I want to learn more on the subject. This seems like something that's so obvious, and I hear it from both sides so often, yet I don't see it happening. That tells me there must be something going on that I just don't understand. Some unknown unknown is floating around in there.

But yeah, the whole "everyone needs to go to college" idea is a huge part of any future student debt crisis. Just like "everyone needs to own a home" led to the big housing crisis. I mean, I'm admittedly not terribly well versed in the field, but from my understanding, there's an alarming degree of similarity between housing pre-2008 and student debt stuff now. The only thing that will make this turn out better if the bubble ever bursts is that I don't think the average person is going to be hurt as bad, because I don't think the big banks are as invested in the student loan market as they were in the housing market.

Yeah agreed, I'm honestly in the same boat as you. I don't really have any research on this, it's just what I've noticed. I'm from a blue collar town where these jobs basically make up most of the non-tourist economy. But I just noticed that none of my friends seemed at all interested in doing trade schools while we were in high school. I think it's honestly that there is this stigma about going to a trade school like it's a lesser position. But what happened is a lot of these guys just kinda fucked around in community college for a few years and weren't really going anywhere. Then I noticed a few of them started taking up trade apprenticeships, and they started making some real money straight out of high school. Hell, some of them have been doing it for three years now and are now full licensed. They get a full medical coverage as well as a pension and belong to a union now, all without a college degree.

Now obviously there's gotta be research on if a small economy could support a ton of people suddenly entering the trades, especially if the town isn't that large. There does need to be more research, I agree. But it seems like a hell of a lot better than paying anywhere from $50-250,000 for a degree you can't get a job for and spend your life drowning in debt.

I still say that Hillary should let Biden have a crack at one of the debates.

My girlfriend is at her teaching class today (she's at the University of Utah, Ph.D. student) and the instructor just told her and the rest of the class to be sensitive to students with emotional problems because they could have firearms.

I don't understand people that got guns brought into classrooms.

Crime is a stealth tax on the poor.

it's coming soon

EDIT 2: "We're going to rebuild our inner cities." Pretty sure Donald Trump is going to be president now.

He's the pro-poor candidate.

Most people are not poor. All that matters is convincing the majority of people to vote for him, and convincing some people on the fence that he's not a typical Republican might work.

Wow.

"You have to be wealthy in order to be great, I'm sorry to say." - Trump

I want context. How very effin' Christian.

The context was that foreign countries are cheating us of our wealth and in order to be a great country you have to be a wealthy one.

I'm not shocked. His rhetoric and his proposed policies will make him really a toxic election candidate in Canada. The only places he would have a realistic shot at winning is maybe Alberta and Saskatechewan, but I expect him to get destroyed in the main cities in both provinces.

Holy shit. I'd throw that quote in EVERY attack ad from now until November. Make this 2012 2.0. Trump is rich, he hates poor people, he is just out for himself, he is too dangerous.

Yep. That quote from him could make a really good GE ad for the democrats.

Trump is just constantly at odds with his campaign. They say he's not considering a women or a minority as VP, then he comes out and refutes them. They say there's no way this little debate will happen, and he comes out and refutes them.

Even in those provinces he loses 3:1.

But she's a woman that's been very ineffective other than she's got a big mouth,"
-Trump on Warren.

Holy fuck. This dude is really fucking misogynist.

"Is it offensive? You tell me. Oh, I'm sorry about that," Trump said to someone in the crowd as a reporter asked a question about Warren. "Pocahontas is that what you said?"

By the way, fuck the media for letting Trump get a pass on this "Pocahantas" slandering.

asked Trump what he thought the GOP would look like in five years.

“Love the question,” he replied. “Five, 10 years from now — different party. You’re going to have a worker’s party.

Uhhhh....uhhh...Worker's Party?

I fully believe him when he has claimed to have Hitler's writings by his bed...

Warren is simply the best foil for Trump. She is handing out the general election strategy on a platter to Hillary. Just keep trolling him and he will take the bait.

Reddit is losing its collective shit over this debate.

literally can't imagine a world where i'd care about how reddit feels about anything

It looks like the GOP is pressuring rubio to run for reelection in his senate seat now.
http://www.cnn.com/2016/05/25/politics/marco-rubio-florida-senate-race/

No shit. They don't want to waste their bench on his senate seat when they need them all to run for governor.

wait, where's piece of shit Scott going again?

Good. This dude would be legit in 2020 if he just said fuck Trump and boycotted the convention. He would look so good after Trump's loss and he'd be the right guy to step in and I think he could win.

if he had that kinda foresight, he'dve stayed out of this last race, or handled it better

Not a good look Bernie. Especially going into CA primary.

The misleading press release. https://berniesanders.com/press-release/sanders-backs-california-initiative/

That's actually pretty terrible. I've noticed quite a few of Sanders' press release statements being inaccurate - a few have straight up contradicted what Sanders said, let alone anyone else. He's really been hampered by the quality of his campaign staff, I hope some heads roll as a result of this.

There's two weeks left. Not much of a point.
