They're on to us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's like some of you actually believe Bernie won't endorse Clinton. Some of you have convinced yourselves Bernie is evil incarnate and it's just weird.

How the hell does he properly endorse someone he's been calling corrupt and untrustworthy for months and who is now apparently stealing the nomination from him, according to his supporters, a claim that he seems to be encouraging at every turn.

"The entire establishment is against us!"

Yeesh. I don't think his motives are as insidious as some here think (I think his basic point is that there's no reason republicans should have a monopoly on working class whites), but that's some bad phrasing.

The eventual endorsement that Bernie Sanders gives to Hillary Clinton will be as tepid and backhanded as his condemnation of what transpired at the Nevada convention.
I think you'll be surprised.

I mean....

Let's assume that the stuff that Josh Marshall wrote is true and the aggressive, anti-Democratic Party rhetoric that Bernie has been pushing is how he really feels.

Why exactly would he endorse Hillary?

I am definitely starting to get really worried.

He just talks up the idea that he and his supporters helped shift the party and made a real difference. Can even cite positions that Clinton herself shifted on.

That was basically his original intention

Edit: and now he can really play up anti-trump vector too

His supporters literally booed the Democratic Party tonight.

I wonder if things would have been different if Stewart and Colbert still had their political shows? They were always good at anchoring young liberals to reason and reality

Yeah man, all what... 10 of us are going to take down a subreddit of what are they a couple hundred thousand strong? I'm gonna need a bigger check from correct the record for this job.

that meme has always been ironic considering s4p's literally run by Revolution Messaging, who got paid a hell of a lot more than $1 million

Bill Press: "If Sanders isn't the nominee, Sanders is going to lead the revolution because he has the people and the money. California here we come."

What the hell does that even mean?

Sellers doesn't even get to make a closing statement lol

Stewart thinks Clinton doesn't believe in anything and the Democrats are responsible for Trump's rise.

I'd say he'd only fuel this bullshit fire honestly.

Why make a stink over the "Bernie or bust" stuff?

  • Clinton dropped out in June 2008, but the month after that in July 2008, a whopping 54% of Clinton supporters said they wouldn't support Obama in the GE even after he was the presumptive nominee.
  • Sanders is still in the race, yet a poll from earlier this month found that Sanders supporters would support Clinton over Trump by a 86-to-10 margin.
  • Bernie or bust is already small compared to the anti-Obama hillary movement and Bernie or bust has longer to come around.
Relax :)

...a poll out from CNN on Wednesday finds [Sanders supporters] prefer Clinton to Trump by an 86-to-10 margin.

That's about the same ratio of Clinton supporters who voted for John McCain over Barack Obama in 2008, according to Emory political scientist Alan Abramowitz. And it's still early: As we move to the general election, Abramowitz says, Democrats are even more likely to swing behind their nominee.

...

In July 2008, 54 percent of Clinton voters said they wouldn't support Barack Obama in a general election. (They even had a nickname, "PUMAs" — "party unity my ass," the 2008 analog to today's "Bernie or bust-ers.")

Rhetorically, sure.

But for all the talk of Clinton's candidacy weakness against a grumpy old socialist her strength is shown in that she has moved in actual policy very little.

Her policy shop formulated her platform a year ago after wide consultation.

S4P is a mess and is not even enjoyable for me to read. It's just a shrill echo chamber. Nothing like the Queens Court going on here
lol
. I would wager that nearly all of the Hillary supporters here are rational adults. We would still vote for Bernie if he were the nominee. Although we talk about Bernie and put him down, we recognize that SCOTUS is absolutely the most important thing in the next two elections.

It doesn't change the fact that as this election goes on, I would more than likely be holding my nose as I colored in the circle next to his name on the ballot. I am truly starting the loathe him as an individual and his more vocal supporters are shitty human beings.

Either way, maybe it's better for Clinton if Sanders supporters think she did move toward Sanders.

If anyone from r/s4p is reading this, come and join us! We spend all day talking about how best to rig elections and bribe politicians into doing what we want, it's great :p

Great but we initially were talking about Sanders endorsing Clinton, Sanders is borderline running against the Democratic party.

And he flat out encouraged his supporters to fucking boo the party tonight.

Also, this. If he continues to try to turn his revolution against the party, I hope he gets shut the fuck down by either Hillary or the party. He's playing with rhetorical fire and if he tries to bring the party down, or make them into the enemy, which he is already doing...

I think you'll be surprised.

He has given himself a hell of a hole to dig out of. It's hard to be an effective surrogate when you straight up claimed that the person you're repping is unqualified to be president.

Sanders is a natural politician so maybe he had the chops to do it, but it seems doubtful. Changing his tone regarding Clinton and the Democratic Party will undercut his greatest strength, the sense of honesty he projects.

There are people here saying they'll vote Trump over Sanders in order to crush his supporters into submission. I didn't even know there were people like that till I saw them here.

Edit: I never read s4p and had to stop reading /r/politics, but poligaf sometimes seems like the other side of that same coin

I believe one person said that. Nowhere near the level of Sanders supporters professing that they would do the same if Hillary won.

I know Donald "To the victor belong the spoils" Trump went unopposed in a state or 2 today, but I still wanna see results. Anyone got them?

He won Oregon with 66.9% of the vote share according to NYT. The other guys spilt the remainder of the vote equally. Both got 16.6%, but cruz got slightly more votes than Kasich in the end.

Edit: They are still counting the vote.

My biggest fear with Sanders is that his nonstop accusations of the DNC being rigged and corrupt will keep millennials tuned out of politics for the foreseeable future. I saw a chart on Twitter they are about to surpass the Boomers in the number of eligible voters, but there will be far more old people voting than younger ones in no small part thanks to Sanders' rhetoric. It's just going to lead to lower and lower turnouts in general elections and midterms and the bullshit South Park "Giant Douche vs Turd Sandwich" view run rampant.

Why the fuck is anyone still voting for Cruz or Kasich? Trump supporters I'd assume are voting as their victory lap. I guess the Cruz Kasich voters are #NeverTrump?

I am definitely starting to get really worried.

Hillary did end up endorsing Obama and working hard for him to become President. But, its unlikely she would have been as enthusiastic about it if Bams didn't offer her the SoS job.

Hillary really has nothing to offer Sanders. He'll "endorse" her. But it will be a backhanded endorsement similar to the types of comments we've seen already.

The turn around and massive push to get his supporters to back Hillary isn't happening. At least from Sanders.

I think why despite the problems with it, Hillary will pick Warren as VP in an effort to do that. Because I don't see Bernie making any moves on his end in that department at this point.

It's going to be tricky for him to pivot from presidential candidate to supporting the democratic nominee after the type of candidacy he has run especially in the last few weeks or so. If he's smart he will do everything in his power to support Clinton when the time comes and put aside their differences since he does not want trump to ever get into the white house. We will know the answer to this question in about 3 weeks.

This has been shown to be untrue many times. Hillary didn't want the SoS job - she had to be talked into it by both Bill and Obama. She was only offered it after he secured his win - there was no discussion beforehand. She went back to the senate and tried to set up a health care reform panel.

Clinton backed him because she put the country ahead of her pride. To suggest she did it because of a job offer is to ignore every single account of what went down, from numerous sources, just to disparage someone's character.

Kasich voters being never trump is definitely something I can see. As a never Clinton person myself, I can respect having that view.

Oh good Weaver was on CNN, denying that there was violence in Nevada, and tripling down on Fraud accusations!

They played a Roberta Lange voicemail for Weaver.

LOL we condemn violence, but fraud, fraud, fraud.

Weaver is asked if they should apologize , he says we condemn violence, but fraud fraud fraud....

Zero apology, tripling down on the rhetoric that caused and inspired the harassment.

Trump will be the best loser on the west coast. You're going to be blown away at how good Trump will lose. By the time the night is done, you will be sick of Trump losing he will do it so well.

I would not be surprised if he struggled to get above 30% in the general in any of the West coast States.
