Is this some sex thing or a real cultural thing? Because since Adam brought it up and it isn't football or Hillary/Yas Kween/Politics/Drag Queen.gifs.. I assume this is a sex thing.
from my very limited understanding, I think it's a life motto of some sort. like "put your best foot forward" or something

So hold the damn phone. Trump now taking GOP money could very well pay off his primary debts into his own pockets.

Please do this, the attack ads make themselves.

The most damaging thing that might come out of the Sanders campaign in the long run (if we're lucky) is the introduction of the voter fraud argument on the left, and as something perpetuated by Democrats. This isn't penny-ante "Kerry won Ohio" kind of stuff, he is directly attacking the primary apparatus which is actually working, albeit not in his favor.

So, I've sort have had an argument ruminating in my head for a day or two about progressive income taxes. How come it's always argued for as "tax on people" instead of "tax on dollars earned"? I think working from the latter position would both make it easier to explain the benefits to a flat taxer, and make it easier for people to understand the system without getting tricked by the perfidious "Tax Bracket Question."

What I mean is, instead of saying "the more you make, the higher income tax rate you pay", present it as "Everyone gets taxed at the same rate as everyone else, but not every dollar gets taxed at the same rate as every other dollar." Like, everyone's first dollar earned is taxed at the same rate as everyone else's first dollar earned. Same for their second dollars. And their eightieth dollars. And they're sixty four thousandth dollars. And they're one million, five hundred twenty nine thousand, one hundred and forty first dollars. The rate you pay on any given dollar is flat across all people. Completely fair! The only reason poorer people end up with a lower effective tax rate is because they're weren't lucky enough to earn their one million, five hundred twenty nine thousand, one hundred and forty first dollar, not because we're trying to punish the people who were lucky enough to.

I think there could be benefits to this approach as a way to make a progressive tax seem "flat" or "fair."

Too complicated of an argument. "Is it fair for the rich to pay fewer taxes right now?" is all you need for 95% of the population.

What does he get? You have time to say you aren't going to pull any quotes but none to summarize it? Get outta here with dropping random links like that.
I should have explained what it was about, but I find that people often dismiss based on summary instead of actually reading the article and I don't want to waste my time with people that aren't even willing to read a short article before dismissing it because it doesn't fit their preconceived views. It's not productive to debate the content of headlines and talking points.

It's not a random link if it's directly related to the ongoing conversation. If you don't want to read it you can ignore it, but I figure some people would appreciate the perspective it gives.

If it's against the rules I won't do it again

It's not a sex thing. On the first episode of RuPaul's Drag Race, the queens had to make outfits based on previous challenges. Bob the Drag Queen made her dress so quickly, she also made a purse. And she walked into the club purse first.

But it's also a metaphor for like saying FUCK IT. I'm fabulous, I walk into the club purse first and all of you can eat it and gag on my eleganaza. Werk. Yassssss.

(Sorry, this is as close to speaking straight as I get...I'm not fluent)

You had a great opportunity to invent some ridiculous sex act and have people believe it. BOOOOO.

Look, I get that I have a reputation. But, I'm a good, Christian woman. I keep both feet firmly on the floor when entertaining a gentleman caller. It's why all my clothes are tear away. It cost a bit more, but I make up for it in time saving.

I'm not going to tell you what I invented for purse first here on GAF, because this is the more sober and measured plagiarize rather than the reckless furiously sniping monster you saw last night.

Hahahaha. I can come up with something....but it seems physically improbable and/or painful for both parties.

A sound argument. Unfortunately, much too complicated for the general population. Taxes and economics in general is only slightly less abstractly confusing to most people as math and chemistry.

All y'all were a big mess last night. Sad. I was barely drunk and still the well behaved one. What is up with that!?

But, I think the robot helped queen win. Yasssss.

I don't think he intentially ment it negatively but its emblematic of his inability to in this day and age understand how to talk to the democratic base which is increasingly compost of people of color.

Contrast Bernies tone deaf highlighting his civil rights movement arrests, comments about the south being conservative (black southern voters are anything but and this

With Clinton giving a speech on race in Harlem.

I think as much as his heart is in the right place he lacks the real, down to your soul empathy. He has the right ideas but I don't get the same empathy vibe when he's not talking about the white working class.l

Lol

The way I think of it is that Bernie views people as little more than economic units.

I was barely paying attention last night for reasons that will stay undisclosed on NeoGAF proper.

Yas Queen Kentucky and all that.

We Called Up Bernie Fans Who Threatened Nevada Dem State Chair and Asked Them to Explain Themselves

“We know where you live, where you work, where you eat,” another text to Lange read. “Where your kids go to school/grandkids. We have everything on you. We are your neighbors, friends, family, etc.”

The person who sent that one is a 26-year-old named Ethan with a Wisconsin area code, although he assured me the number was fake (and, I assume, the name was as well).

“Do you know what the concept of Anonymous is?” he asked me, immediately.

I said that I did. Ethan explained he’d been undertaking an Anonymous-esque action, but also, that he was trying to play a threatening character deliberately, to send a message.

“She is very much a top person,” Ethan said, referring to Lange. “The establishment and people like her have been on the internet themselves writing posts that try to incite hate. Try to incite frustration. They pay off trolls to start problems and stuff like that.” (For example, a pro-Hillary PAC spent $1 million to hire people to “correct” Facebook and Reddit commenters.)

“Who are you talking to?” and older woman’s voice shouted worriedly from the background.

“Please don’t tell anyone my name,”

Ethan said, as we hung up. “I like my privacy.”

Ethan is exactly what I pictured him to be.

Queen Hillary and the DNC have given too much power to the High Socialist and his Commie Militant and now they have taken over the asylum. They are too ideologically pure to be bought or controlled. Unlike Hillary with her funding from the the big banks and a few high elites, the Commie's are lifted by the many who have been stamped under their boot. Join the righteous path brothers and let us strip Hillary of her finery.

How embarrassing.
Even the comments are depressing, top one is a woman asking for an interview to deflect against a supposed broad strokes Sanders supporters are painted with... that's not the point of the article in any case, it's just to concern for the fucking wackos out here threatening people.

Is this that Game of Thrones business?

To me the best argument against a flat tax is the marginal utility of money, but that's admittedly a pretty abstract concept for the average person. The example I would think of in my head would be how a flat tax would impact the lives of two people with wildly different incomes, and then asking if that's truly fair.

Well, today I encountered a first indication that something might be changing about the perception and support for Bernie and Hillary.

On Imgur (reddits image hosting site) an anti Debbie Wasserman Schultz post was made, and upvoted to the front page. But aside from the top comment being all about Hitlery, quite a few other upvoted comments were reasonable about how the process works, how vitriol doesn't work in anyone's favor, how misinformation creates echo chambers, ...

I mean, that's got to be a first. Normally that site is an extension of r/politics or r/s4p.

As somebody pointed out before, Sander4President's uniques have dropped 75% since their peak a few months ago.

Yea, I think Nevada shook a bunch of people who were in this, and "woke them up" to what is going on.

What's crazy is that Sanders' lies have actually turned young and new voters away from politics. He's convinced them that it's him vs. complete corruption and once he's gone, all they'll see is corruption.

Benchmark politics polling looks real grim for CA, New Mexico and New Jersey for Sanders. Ugh... June is so close. The campaign is already in the coffin, down the hole. Someone just get the shovels already. Dude isn't affecting anything anymore. Figure we might see some more lashing out but beyond that it's contained and mostly pushed aside for the GE. Kentucky was the last time I saw Clinton even bother, wonder if she'll bother elsewhere when she's already so far ahead.

Colin's also the only one who would know the name Paul Ryan out of that group, so they all just defer to his "political expertise" on these types of videos. It's really funny and sad. It's basically a freshman dorm room come to life.

I've joked before that if I ever came into a decent chunk of money that I'd done a big amount of it to Kinda Funny's patreon with the kicker being that Colin has to debate somebody like mumei or one of the smart people on this thread. Hell, I'm not that smart, but even I see the obvious openings he leaves.

I mean, for being so "smart", Colin didn't understand how Roe vs. Wade could be overturned.

She'll bother where it's demographically advantageous for her. She'll do something in NJ to keep the margins high. She may spend a bit in Puerto Rico. The main thing will be to keep the win in California. If Bernie isn't going to spend anything, I'm going to assume Queen reserved ad time at some point. She'll ignore ND, SD, Montana, etc.

Also, depending on how she does, she may very well erase his +4 gains with a decent win in the Virgin Islands.

You know before this week I would have settled my bets with Sanders just paying lip service and walking away at the convention. I'm actually interested in seeing if he goes full Buchanan Culture War at the convention. And by that I don't mean he's going to denounce the opposition for what they're doing as much as he'd denounce the DNC for what it's supposedly done to him and his constituency personally.

It'd be... it'd be fucking weird that's for sure. I don't think it's out the realm of possibilities anymore tbh.
