MSNBC got the screen divided into 6ths.

West wing, sexy talking Pete, the Press room, reshowing the video, random pictures of Hillary and the same picture of Bernie and Obama at different angles.

I think Sanders still takes this to the convention, but no one views it as a serious threat.

He'll cool off on the calls of corruption, which is good. Work on getting his supporters outside of conspiracy land, which is good.

First rally is in Green Bay, WI. That would be a four hour drive from Hayward. Hrrrm. I wonder what the venue will be? Lambeau Field? XD

I'm tempted to make the drive, I'll be on vacation anyway.

How Bernie Sanders Exposed the Democrats’ Racial Rift

I thought this was a good article, especially this paragraph, which I think sums up a lot of what I have been feeling when people brush off Trump:

"Minority voters have been watching in horror as millions of Republican voters choose Trump either because of, or despite, his open bigotry. The Sanders supporters who toy with the idea of shunning Clinton in November and allowing Trump to become president to force a revolution that Sanders couldn’t deliver are playing with fire. To minority voters, Trump’s candidacy feels like an existential threat. It’s one thing for Republicans to either ignore or embrace his racism; the party already seems unwilling or incapable of making the kinds of adjustments it must to attract more non-white voters. It’s quite another for white Democrats to not appreciate how liberal minorities feel about the possibility of a Trump presidency and what that would say about the state of racial progress in America. It would be a slap in the face, the latest sign that a kind of white privilege—throwing a temper tantrum because they don’t get their way despite how much it hurts people of color—is deeply rooted within liberal, Democratic ranks as well."

This article gives me life energy. Basically everything I've been feeling this past year.

Hearing that at one point Sanders said something along the lines of "this is a close race" and Obama said "actually it's not at fucking all, but you did as well as you could."

Sanders acknowledged that the end is near...but isn't here yet. As others have said he'll stay for DC and likely bow out shortly thereafter. I was wrong, I really thought he'd go to the convention to be a dick.

LMAO Obama <3

I despise the things you stand for*, but you are a great poster.

* I don't really know what the things are that you stand for. Except reducing national security oversight which I'm basically meh about, sorry.

Thx dawg.
About the nsa, as of late I have been worrying about a particular argument for it that no one ever brought up during the many times I ranted about national surveillance (which would have shut me right the fuck up had they, incidentally). Obama is a law professor and as president is inarguably more knowledgeable about the demands of national security then I am. If it is his judgement that the nsa is needed to protect the country, who the he'll am I to argue.

Then I read the news story about Obama demanding access to Internet browser histories and get enraged all over again

Do it!! You're lucky to live in a state that Obama and Hillary will visit.

Haahahah I just read the dumbest comment in history.

"If Clinton is so qualified then why'd you run against her in 2008?"

Oh GOD

How are they supposed to use machine learning to automatically give you the best porn when you get home from work if they can't access your browser history?

really great article
Democrats can waste time debating why minority voters should have connected better with Sanders—and get caught in a condescending discussion about why white Sanders supporters know what’s better for minority voters than minorities do themselves—or they can begin the more difficult work of coming up with strategies to deal with a divide that will show itself in a more pronounced and public way once Trump exits stage left.
truth bomb right here.

I'm worried about HA Goodman.

Seriously. Not in a snarky way. I'm really, really scared for him.

They have to give Sanders supporters a reason to go to the site. Im convinced that each online publication has a designated pro-sanders writer to just be an attempt to seem equal.

I've seen Obama twice and Hillary once. How much better could they be together? Worth eight hours of driving better?
Typical Wisconsinite. If you were a Californian, you'd be used to driving absurd amounts of time.

But yes, worth it. It's their first joint appearance of the campaign!

Also hearing that Obama confronted Sanders about the super delegate issue. Specifically that Hillary is well ahead of him by every "legitimate" metric (pledged delegates and total votes) yet Bernie is asking super delegates to overturn the will of the people and hand him the nomination. Obama asked what Sanders would think if he was well ahead and Hillary was asking super delegates to give her the nom.

Just based on the things I've heard though I don't think the meeting went "bad" though. Not perfect, because in a perfect world there would be no need for a meeting.

Imma do it for PoliGAF (assuming I can even get something so that I know I can attend, for sure). Like if it's a closed door, < 1,000 people venue, nah son.

Hayward is a five hours drive from Madison, lol. I'll be driving up this Saturday and back next.

Can you give me a specific quote from him regarding this?

His implication was that Southern Democrats' votes shouldn't matter as much in the primaries (those states are already weighted less than strong blue states), and these are the states with the highest black populations in the country. He might not have meant it that way, but he sorta said black voters don't matter as much. He also ran on the platform that white working class voters are the most important demographic (article behind paywall, use Google cache to view if needed).

It really pissed me off because I voted for him in Georgia and then he says my vote is "a distortion of reality". It's like... fuck you Bernie, take your L like an adult.

I always just figured that argument went without saying on both sides. The president has access to a lot of information and intelligence that the rest of us don't. That shit has got to color your outlook on the issue a lot.

It's the safety and security argument combined with the idea that if you have power and can stop a tragedy from happen that you should try your hardest to do so.

Generally I agree with you that we go too far, but then I think about the argument above and wonder what I'd do in Obama's situation. And that's a question I can answer very easily.

Sounds like he's as sick of the race as we are, probably more since he likely wants to get out there and tear Trump a new asshole. Or twelve.

Holy shit hahahahahahaha

So how are we expecting Bernie to concede and subsequently endorse Hillary now? I think he might be pretty blunt about their differences but say that they share the same general vision for the future of America and that she is the by far the best choice going forward into the GE.

I told you the weekend phone call consisted of f-bombs :p Not surprised the meeting did either.

really great article

truth bomb right here.

It always amuses me that the Dems have been laughing about the GOP divide while ignoring the one happening in the Dem party (thanks over-focus on identity politics!)

Starting to like Hillary more.

We might actually get snarky asshole Clinton this election, thank god.

So glad Obama endorsed!! Going to miss him being in the White House. Can't put to words how important and emotional it was for to be able to vote for him as President twice. Especially since not once have I ever regretted that decision. I'm hoping voting for Hillary will be just as impactful and there won't be any regrets.

In a room full of donors? FFS.

That's a good idea. Tell donors directly to their faces you're going to effectively burn their money. I'm glad Trump is this stupid but damn. I can't even respect the hustle with him.

He's been made totally irrelevant in that regard, I think. He'll frame his endorsement in "We can't allow Trump." And that's good enough for me. If he acts as a surrogate only in the "Don't vote for Trump" then I'm fine with him. Good enough.

I really want more of that conversation to get out. Would love to know just how badly the President called Sanders on his shit.
