Trump is reported to not drink alcohol right? Hypothetically, if he wins in November and somebody popped champagne..... What sort of victory speech would drunk triumphant trump give???????

Speaking of GMOs I had a banana today which was like 65-70% black on the outside. I was certain it was a spoiled mess inside. I peeled it anyway and to my surprise the actual fruit itself was pristine save for one small spot...is this GMO's doing? If so, I'm all for it.

You're already dead?

I only like bananas when they're still mostly green. There is nothing more gross than an overripe banana.

This is super super super important

http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2016/05/asian-americans-like-clinton-dont-like-trump.html

One of the more surprising exit-poll findings of the 2012 presidential election was that Asian-Americans voted for Barack Obama in higher percentages (73-26) than did Latinos (71-27), despite having (on average) much higher socioeconomic status and less of a pro-Democratic partisan tradition. And that's why a 2014 exit poll finding that Asian-Americans were divided evenly between the two parties was hotly disputed.

Whatever did and didn't happen in 2012 and 2014, there's fresh evidence that the often-forgotten (until California votes!) Asian-American community, which is growing rapidly, is in the current environment tilting pretty strongly away from Donald Trump's GOP.

A new national survey sponsored by several Asian-American and Pacific Islander advocacy groups shows a recent trend toward affiliation with the Democratic Party, a strong hostility to Trump, and a relatively high level of affection for Hillary Clinton, the most popular in this demographic of the various candidates for president in both parties this cycle.

The survey suggests that the Democratic Party's favorable-unfavorable ratio among Asian-Americans has improved from 55-29 in 2014 to 66-19 today, even as the GOP's ratio deteriorated from 39-39 two years ago to 31-46 now. There are a couple of likely explanations for this trend. For one thing, President Obama's job approval numbers among Asian-Americans have significantly improved from 50-36 in 2014 to 67-23 now. And the Clinton-Trump choice seems to be a no-brainer for many of these voters.

Trump's favorability ratio is a terrible 19-61. There's not a huge amount of variation by nation of origin, either, in case you are wondering if the numbers are skewed by Muslims. Trump's best national-origin category is Vietnamese at 22-57; his worst is Koreans at 10-80.

Meanwhile, Clinton's favorability ratio is 62-26, with relatively uniform numbers across national-origin lines. Bernie Sanders, meanwhile, has a favorability ratio of 48-22. The Bern predictably spikes among 18-to-34-year-olds at 75-19, but it's interesting that Clinton's favorability ratio among young Asian-Americans is a not-so-bad 55-32.

All in all, these findings indicate that Asian-American political leanings much more closely resemble the 2012 exit polls than they do the 2014 exit polls, which one might expect in a presidential year when the choices at the top of the ticket are between one of the demographic's favorite pols against one of its least favorite. To the extent that the Trump campaign winds up being primarily an expression of conservative white identity politics, the mogul isn't likely to do much better among these and other nonwhite voters as the general election grows nigh.

States with the biggest % Asian American voters:

Nevada is #3. Alaska is #7. Virginia is #8.

Yeah, that phrase has lost all meaning (not that it really had any).
At one point I fell into that wedge of dirt, but I never went all that deep into the rabbit hole.

Herbal supplements kinda fall into the same trap, if they were medicine they would be extracted and turned into a product like aspirin. Which would then be regulated and studied under scrutiny of science.

I will however say that since the supplement market is basically the wild west, we may be inadvertently ignoring effective treatments using some of them, since there is little incentive to take the step to turn them into a proper treatment. Another reason why the industry should have a modicum of regulation, to provide that incentive to take the product to the highly regulated step.

I like that supplements are the wild west, it makes me feel like a scientist experimenting on my own body. I have tried various supplements and also nootropics, and some of them I've actually felt have had great effects. I could actually pay attention in class

mom threw them out cause powders must mean evil drugs tho :/
was really mad about that tbh and after that I stopped paying attention in class again

For whatever reason, blaming South Korea for like 20% of America's problems isn't too appealing to people whose parents are from South Korea.

I used to proudly boast about and display non-gmo cereal... I was really insufferable 5 years ago.

It's fine, we all have our preferences and there's nothing with that, pigeon.😃

You're too nice.

This is the internet. Everyone who doesn't think just like me is completely wrong. AND WE SHOULD BE LOUD! :p

Kidding.

Your banana was a polyploid clone but not a GMO.

We may end up having to genetically modify the bananas to save them, actually.

I have to wonder if Trump's constant bashing of Japan and South Korea is even helpful with his base.

Trump's people masturbate to anime, anime comes from Japan!

Your mom is ruining your education!
But seriously, i'm not advocating for the same stringent requirements as Pharmacology, just SOME requirements focusing on safety and claims.

Doubt it, the Banana is a single cultivar. This lack of any diversity is part of the reason the entire current crop of Bananas is at risk of losing it's production viability. Edit: Had to look up the term since I forgot, it's called a monoculture.

She is though! :( I was raising my hand, participating, I was genuinely interested in my classes, and then she took my supplements away and now it's hard for me to even get out of bed.

But yeah I get what you're saying

Awesome to read about! Trump is FUBAR with the minority vote.
In a few weeks Trump will Tweet out a pic of him eating General Tso's Chicken, with the caption "I love the Asians"

He's got it in the bag
Lmao.

Pretty sure we already did that like 70 years ago when the first wave of the fungus hit and was wiping out the populations

Not quite, there used to be a previous type of Banana, but it had the same fate the current one is on track to have.

The one being used now was resistant to the Panama Disease, but evolution finds a way.

Knowing Trump, your username will come into it.

He has such a limited filter, he is going to "tell it like it is" almost every appearance where he goes off script.

Without any data... I'm going to posit that "Asian Americans" as a voting bloc is actually comprised of a crap ton of different groups that are possibly more disparate in their views than others.

Don't be silly, people from Shanghai clearly have exactly the same voting intentions as those from Karachi.

agree it would be nice to have more women and poc's in positions of leadership. I wanted a charming old jewish man to be my president but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen

You have an odd definition of charming.

I wouldn't call any of his behaviour through out most of this campaign anything remotely approaching charming.

That said yes a non white or male majority group would be amazing.

Is there public opinion polling on open relationships? Curious what would happen if they just came out and said that they have an agreement and its really not anyone's business as to how their relationship works in their personal life.
You can try searching Gallup, but I haven't heard of any polling on open relationships.

Trump is a real Republican after all!

When asked in an interview last week about the Foster case, Trump dealt with it as he has with many edgy topics — raising doubts about the official version of events even as he says he does not plan to talk about it on the campaign trail.

He called theories of possible foul play “very serious” and the circumstances of Foster’s death “very fishy.”

“He had intimate knowledge of what was going on,” Trump said, speaking of Foster’s relationship with the Clintons at the time. “He knew everything that was going on and then all of a sudden he committed suicide.”

He added, “I don’t bring [Foster] up because I don’t know enough to really discuss it. I will say there are people who continue to bring it up because they think it was absolutely a murder. I don’t do that because I don’t think it’s fair.”

Angry Grimace

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"
lol I finally got THAT salty Bernie supporter to post on my Facebook:

This is what I wish Hillary supporters understood (very simplified):

Say there are 100 voters. 48 of them are voting for Trump. Out of the other 52, right now 30 of them support Hillary; 22 support Bernie. If Bernie was the nominee, all 30 Hillary supporters would vote for Bernie (there is no Hillary or bust movement). He gets 52 and wins. If (read: when) Hillary is the nominee, out of those 22 Bernie supporters, 16 will support Hillary. 6 of them are Independents/millennials. Right or wrong, they do not view Hillary as the lesser of two evils, but rather as equally evil. Their minds aren't going to change. They are going to stay home in November, or write in Bernie, vote 3rd party, and a few will actually vote for Trump. Hillary gets 46 votes, loses, and it's President Trump.

This is why Bernie fares better than Hillary in EVERY poll against Trump, without exception, in every state and the general. It's not because the GOP hasn't started attacking him yet (they already have). It's because Hillary gets Democrats and Democrats only. Bernie gets Democrats + Independents + Millennials. Hillary may have 13m votes to Bernie's 10m, but her lopsided Democrat support in states she has no chance of carrying in the general is essentially irrelevant.
Tl;dr ‪#‎BernieOrBust‬

The issue spotting on this one was pretty funny.

So he's saying Bernie is the better choice because his supporters are petulant children and Hillary supporters are grow-up adults.

(Of course, most the people who voted for Bernie aren't the vocal tantrum-throwing minority)

I was using the term GMO to mean transgenesis as that is the current definition, though of course I do agree that selective breeding is absolutely "genetic modification".

Vince Foster already? He's whipping through these 'scandals' at a rather impressive rate. We'll probably hear about Whitewater by the end of the week.
