I whinny my fervor lowly, for his length is not as great as those of the Hylian war stallions
Lol, Nina Turner. How she's still a thing is amazing. So fetch.

That's "The Honorable Nina Turner" to you!

Edit: You win this round Autodidact.

Even better is she took over "Our Revolution" a few days ago.
The sadder part, i'm not sure if she is better or worse than Weaver.

All but certain Kamala Harris is running in 2020

I'm so ready to vote for her. If an insurgent Sanders-type tries to snipe her from a distance, I'll be livid.
Is it really necessary to frame it this way.

Yes if Kamala Harris runs, other people will try to challenge her. Yes it is likely that if sanders himself does not run, someone moreso from his "branch" of the left will. It will likely involve going after Kamala and whoever else they want to beat. And it will probably get low and dirty in both directions from all angles.

But if Kamala is a good candidate it won't matter how people go after her. Attacks on Obama didn't stick for a reason.

I can't believe other politicians might try to run against Kamala Harris in 2020 and therefore criticise her. Horrible!

I dunno, I heard in the dirtsheets...I mean, rumors, that she is a bitch.

Yeah, because Obama was a midwestern man who had an air of authenticity. The shit that will fly against Kamala Harris when she runs will be truly unfortunate and I don't know if she can really, uh, shed the fact that she's from California and she has a background of a non-coal miner.

Gabbard 2020 is something I'm rooting for actually because she's so transparently trash that as an "insurgent" she would only be popular with the fringe of the fringe. Let her run, let her get her 5% of whackos, let that be the end of it

She'll probably stay in the race because of dedicated support for a brief period of time. Are there any other very liberal or 'Berniecrats/economic left/Bernie-supporter' candidate besides Gabbard? I can see them splitting the vote among themselves.

I'd actually be fine if Bernie ran. I think he's too old but I'm willing to try something different. I thought Clinton was not a great candidate but not a historically bad one so I guess I was wrong.

Bernie is better than anyone else from that wing, I think. He's more charismatic than Warren even if I think politically she's a lot more palatable.

Gabbard isn't a democratic socialist so I don't know why people are mentioning her. Four years from now...no one in the Bernie wing is even going to remember ha.

Brown, since he wants to break up big banks and is a critic of free trade.

Imagine Zuckerberg creating a coalition between the technocrats and the far-left.

She also has no birthkids. Cold calculating ambitious barren angry black woman incoming. From both left and right.

Yes. I don't know why we should give in to her ambition! We need a white man to help us. Is Jason Kander available or is he still doing the Twitter?

More evidence that Lenin was right. Clearly bourgeois "democratic" socialists will never bring about the revolution if members of the vulture class are willing to vote for them!

Don't the rumors come from... the actual staffers of her campaign?

Kamala being a complete asshole comes from people who don't really have motivation to make this stuff up.

He kinda apologized for the "Grab her by the pussy" recording.

No he did not. He tried to justify it over and over with "it was just locker room talk". That's not an apology. The only thing he was sorry about was that he was recorded.

More endless years of people lamenting Dem lack of fallinline-ness from one side of their mouth, and from the other saying that this is why the party is shit and nobody likes them.

there's a Republican primarying a congressman in Arkansas running as an "Eisenhower Republican" who wants to get UHC

if a Republican supports Medicare For All I don't see why that shouldn't warrant support unless their platform is "medicare for all, also kill all the Mexicans"

Eh I feel like the last 8 years are good examples of "the only good Republican is one who just lost an election." Instead of endorsing Republicans who throw you an economic bone (and doing so is what gets social justice folks to lose trust in you) just endorse the Democrat who's likely to vote for more than just economic programs intended for white people.

That's not to say you shouldn't secretly hope better Republicans primary worse ones. But the message should be that every Republican is scum, some are just scummier than others. Don't actually support any of them.

So how does that work out exactly? Space isn't supposed to be weaponized, what would they do exactly? I mean, it's inevitable that satellites will have or already have some defense mechanisms, which would lead to some sort of escalation one way or the other, but to get there you need to pretty much admit it publicly. For espionage it would make sense, but it's bound to be more than that. I don't think we're far from putting missiles in space, especially laser weapons to take down cruise missiles and such.

Space isn't supposed to be weaponized, but the treaty specifically refers to WMDs. We're almost certainly working on stuff like suborbital transports, which sort of necessitates other weapon platforms capable of reaching orbit.

It seems like exactly the kind of thing Trump would go crazy over. Imagine him honking the horn on the Space Battleship USS Fred Trump as it prepares for its inaugural bombing run!

Are you ready for Gabbard 2020

She has a VERY memorable slogan all ready to go!

I think it's completely normal that most people think of their bosses as difficult. Who else should it come from? Rethuglicans?

Why did a just get this email from "The Democrat Govemor's Association"?
BREAKING NEWS: SENATE MOVES TO STRIP FUNDING FOR PLANNED PARENTHOOD WITH NEW HEALTH CARE BILL >>

TELL THE SENATE:
STOP THE REPUBLICAN HEALTH CARE PLAN

Friends: Republicans in the Senate just released their health care plan, and it's an absolute nightmare. In addition to gutting Medicaid, kicking millions off their insurance, stripping protections for people with preexisting conditions and raising costs on seniors, this bill defunds Planned Parenthood for an ENTIRE YEAR!

The GOP wrote this bill in secret, and now they're desperate to force it through as fast as they can. This is unprecedented – and for the millions of people whose health care is at risk, the stakes could be life-or-death.

We're counting on your help right now to stop this dangerous plan in its tracks. We need 50,000 Democrats to sign the petition before midnight to demand that the Senate stop the Republican health care plan.

Someone didn't get the memo...

I actually did some franctic searching around after reading the email header thinking I missed a new bill.

Donating to the ACLU put me on some weird lists. Usually they end up in the spam folder, this one got through and made me think it was new news... Not really sure why the GOP would care about 50k Democrats anyway haha

lol McConnell

By sniping I mean characterizing your opponent in such a light that the Republican candidate (Trump) will start using it in ads. If she's not leftist enough, by all means criticize her. But Sanders tarred Hillary with the paid speeches bullshit and that was just ridiculous, and gave Trump enough ammo for a lifetime.

Going after tulsi by saying "here look at this Richard spencer tweet" or whatever Trump people said nice about her is dumb and won't work. It's like, Spencer also likes Depeche Mode. So what. No one really cares.

I think a better approach would be to point out that she is likely compromised by sectarian Syrian war criminals in the same way Trump is compromised by the Russians and had the audacity to solidify Assad by having a "meeting" with him as he was gassing and slaughtering men women and children a few blocks away.

So I'd really like it if someone took her down in Christie Rubio fashion because if she runs I expect her to do well unless someone properly exposes her. Because I think people are going to really want to like the hot surfing soldier lady from Hawaii who "stuck to her convictions and backed Bernie with the establishment against her", and some lame Spencer retweets I don't think does anything to dissuade that

Yes, someone should eviscerate her, but it'll have to be another woman. Democrats still care about ~~~OPTICS~~~, and a man bodyslamming Tulsi the way Christie did Rubio will not look right. Elizabeth Warren could be useful in this regard.

A white dude will probably end up winning because they'll have the highest favs and after 2016, favorability ratings will be on everyones minds. I'm of the belief Bernie would've gotten good black youth turnout, but these other white dudes won't be able to replicate that unless they come out early with a message that doesn't only placate the WWC.

The speeches were just a symptom of the disease. Hillary was not a candidate of middle America and she didn't try and they didn't vote for her. Are we really thinking this is the first time there has been a bruising primary? Especially given 2008? Why do you think the stuff didn't stick on Obama?

If Tulsi does run in 2020 are we actually expecting Bernie to enthusiastically back her?

I can already see some people turning on him if he doesn't lol.

Will America elect a female President? I know Clinton had a long history of attacks against her, but I feel it was mostly a misogynistic backlash. A lot of the attacks made zero sense and just focused on her being a woman (old, "bitchy", sick, weak, etc).

This country overwhelmingly voted for a black man with a muslim sounding name, so yes.

hillary was just a shit candidate.

Hillary won the popular vote by 3 million despite being a "weak candidate". A woman who is younger, a bit more charismatic, and (like Obama) doesn't have such a long political history, could easily win.

Misogyny is the biggest factor in this question. Obama took money from Wall Street too, but if a Woman does the same, all hell broke loose.

There was indeed a lot of backlash against Obama. But iirc it was more coded in the mainstream. Even the birthers pretended it wasn't a race thing. I might be wrong.

I recall Giuliani straight up saying we don't need a "woman" on some cable news channel. It was so blatant that it blew me away.

Listening to Lovett or Leave It, and Julia Ioffe's rant on the complete and utter waste of time that is the WH press briefings almost had me hollering on the subway.

Yes, Julia. Yes.

I swear, the only place I hear Tulsi Gabbard mentioned is NeoGAF. I'm a radical left populist socialist and I wouldn't even know who Tulsi was were it not for NeoGAF reminding me she is "not the future of the Democratic Party."

Like, nobody even knows who Tulsi Gabbard is. Maybe ten people, tops, worldwide. I will eat my entire body from the feet-up until I am an inside-out skeleton man if the name "Tulsi Gabbard" ever comes up in a legitimate national context.

Tulsi gets more mentions on GAF than Chapo Trap House and that's how you know she is nobody's hero.

Things Republicans said in 2015.

Gabbard's homophobic and Islamophobic backgrounds don't mesh with most of the base, unlike Trump's racism, sexism, and strongman-ism all overlapping with core GOP orthodoxy.

Gabbard really would only appeal to the "burn it to the ground" types on the left because contrarianism is all she has, unlike Sanders.

Can someone do me a weird favor?

Can someone go here and tell me the Hillary/Trump and Obama/Romney % for Iowa Senate District 41? The excel won't load on my phone.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...IrmyMQGdQKqpOu9lLvmdo/htmlview#gid=2097162789

IA-Upper 41:
2016: 37.92% Clinton, 56.89% Trump
2012: 52.95% Obama, 45.06% Romney

Turnout was about 26,900 in 2016 and 27,900 in 2012

Pretty much. Gabbard as a serious candidate is a mere fantasy. But apparently we need to bring her up for our recurring hate sessions about those 5th columnists on the left.

The rust belt has weakened by opinion about this country's progressiveness. I honestly thought being a female was an advantage. Sure Clinton did well in plenty of places. But some of those rural areas yield an enormous amount of influence due to our electoral process.

I guess a better question would've been will "swing states" elect a female president?
