And people know that is the GOP doing this too.
It's like when Franken was on Maher and Maher started grilling him immediately about impeaching Trump, like ten days after he was sworn in.

People want a quick fix. If they really wanted one they should have turned out for Clinton instead of wringing their hands over emails.

Dems digital issues.

Democrats worry their problems go way beyond conservative dominance on Twitter or Reddit. Axios' Kim Hart and I are hearing of a growing number of Democrats that fear the party is fighting 2020 wars with 1980 technology, mentality and techniques.

Rising tensions: There is a rising belief that party leaders, most of whom grew up in the television and newspaper era, spend way too little time and attention on digital advertising and targeting. They hire consultants who are often incentivized to place TV ads, because their cut is bigger than when buying digital ads.
"Our advertising strategy, flawed by economics, culture and stubbornness, is the least-known reason why Democrats are losing," says Tim Lim, a Partner at Bully Pulpit Interactive — the advertising agency that managed the Obama and Clinton digital campaigns. Lim argues more money needs to be spent on digital and more digital needs to be spent on persuasion advertising, not just fundraising.

Why it matters: Look for an acceleration in money moving from TV to digital, especially on the left. (Losing political parties always overcompensate for the flaws of their campaigns. The same thing happened to Republicans after 2012.) This will hit 2020 hardest, because few people vote in midterms and those who do tend to be old, TV watchers.

I was wondering of that map that showed conservatives living in a bubble online was the result of better manipulation of digital media rather than some difference in the audiences.

Then this pops up...

Oh boy. An NPR caller just hit every right wing talking point in 15 seconds before they killed the call when he said Jewish communist.

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
Muslim dude is running for Michigan Governor too. These midwest states are getting fucked under Republicans.

A Muslim winning the Michigan governor's election right now would the most politically stunning event in decades--much more so than Trump winning.

Hillary Clinton spent a billion dollars and lost. I'm fairly certain they don't need to spend more money on media. How much money did Bernie Sanders spend to get all those reddit posters on his side? :p

Also any article that claims conservatives are successful on reddit is filtered in my band pass.

Reddit is conservative in the sense that it's the biggest website full of racists, misogynists and bigots.

It's not how much you spend though it's where you spend it.

Cable tv as buys are probably worthless at this point. Or at least they don't give adequate returns for what they cost. Viral media is probably a better way to spend an allocated amount of money because you arent limited to a very specific time slot and you can present yourself moreso on your terms rather than having to abide by certain time limits and spam 30 second ads on every channel just to hope everyone your targeting might catch it once

More voters watch TV than utilize Youtube.

If Trump did nothing else--and he didn't--he sure as shit blew up all the conventional wisdom about campaign organization.

Once you get the nomination, partisanship does 95% of the work.

I would argue that the voters who watch tv are less likely to be convinced or switched by a short tv ad.

Especially when democrats need to focus on young people. Who watch more YouTube than cable tv.

Ok worthless might be a bit too far but a proper online strategy needs to be sorted going forward, because it's more prevalent amongst the voters democrats need to go after and it's a lot more cost effective

Snopes says this is false. Popped up in my twitter feed too.
Yeah, it's a fake news site. (The original meaning of "fake news".) Other headlines:

United Auto Workers Trigger Unionization Election at Mississippi Nissan Plant

As reported by the Associated Press on July 10, workers at a Nissan plant in Canton, Mississippi will be able to vote for union representation after years of activism. This came months after the United Auto Workers (UAW), the union seeking to represent the plant’s 6,400 workers, accused Nissan of breaking U.S. labor law after a company security guard prohibited workers from distributing pro-union literature and petitions.

Unionization at the plant has been supported by notable national figures, including U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, actor and activist Danny Glover, and NAACP President Cornell Brooks. Civil rights organizations such as the NAACP have provided their unwavering support for the workers at a plant where eighty percent of the employees are African American.

hell yeah hope this goes well
