And the only reason Fox is on top is due to their older audience.
That much I knew. Older people, who are generally Republican, still watch tv for their news, while younger people, who generally lean Democrat, get their news from the internet, social media, etc.

It's no surprise Fox is on top by a pretty healthy margin.

Awesome. NH never was a crucial state in any of the maps I made or when I looked at the EV paths for Obama, but it definitely helps if he gets it. Running up the score is always good. Though I suppose having that and NV in the pretty-damned-likely-to-win column is nice insurance in case we find ourselves in bizarro land on election day and Wisconsin flips.... not that I'm worried about that.

NH going blue makes me feel safe. along with IA, NV, and CO, any election shenanigans in ohio would be covered for.

Straight from my facebook page. I mentioned the absurdity in Romney suspending his campaign and then campaigning, and then I am greeted with this beauty:

"Maybe Obama will try to trump him by holding a fundraiser to support his home country of Pakistan"

But this is not sarcasm. He is actually serious.

Then Maxx trolled the shit out of him, and he still didn't get it.

Also today, in the breakroom at work, was the discussion that Obama has a dead guy's SSN. When I mentioned that the story was false, they reverted back to the, "You really believe that too, huh? You believe anything you read. We get the real news."

lol November 7th cannot come soon enough.

Joe Scarborough mocking Nate's model again on his show

What's he saying?

also, I'd imagine no one will be mentioning Nate Silver on November 7th, if Obama wins. Joe will go back to "Romney wasn't conservative enough" mode, conservatives will cry about voter fraud, and the mainstream media will cherish any chaos that ensues.

Whose reaction to an Obama win will be the best, though?

I predict Hannity.

I mean in liberal circles we have a tiny miniscule segment of 9/11 truthers. But in conservative circles, every single one of them is a goddamn conspiracy theory nutball. Insane.

I wish I were making all of this up. I really do need to record a conversation from the breakroom one day. They are all 50+ white men, of course.

As far as who in the media will have the most glorious reaction to an Obama win, I still honestly think it will be Hannity. I can picture him crying bald eagles.

The amount of people who decry Obama as this radical Muslim helping terrorists like the Muslim Brotherhood while also criticizing him for backing the "homosexual agenda" never cease to amuse me.

Team Romney's PA memo. Shades of McCain four years back.

Rich Beeson said:
Pennsylvania presents a unique opportunity for the Romney campaign. Over the past few years we have seen Pennsylvania voting for a Republican senator and a Republican governor, and Republicans win control of the State House in addition to the State Senate. The western part of the Keystone State has become more conservative (and President Obama’s war on coal is very unpopular there), and Mitt Romney is more competitive in the voter-rich Philadelphia suburbs than any Republican nominee since 1988. This makes Pennsylvania a natural next step as we expand the playing field.

While the Obama campaign would like to wish it is 2008, the reality is that they are now forced to “play defense” in least six states (Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Colorado, New Hampshire, Iowa and Wisconsin) that they once believed were “safe” Obama wins.

Meanwhile, back in reality, Romney is spending all day tomorrow campaigning in Florida. Hey, wasn't that supposed to be one of the only two swing states (along with NC) that Romney had in the bag?

Most likely scenario, of course, is that the Romney campaign is seeing the same uphill battle in the swing states that we are. They can't count on getting to 270 based on swing states alone, so... desperation time.

Romney’s Jeep-to-China lie earns brutal headlines in Ohio

As David Plouffe wrote in his memoir of Campaign 2008, the Obama team has long thought that one of the most effective ways to influence independents and undecided voters is via local media in key battleground states. So it’s worth taking a look at how the battle over Mitt Romney’s latest falsehood — that the auto bailout will result in American Jeep jobs getting shipped to China — is playing in the Ohio media, since this claim represents Romney’s last chance to turn things around in the state.

Here’s the headline in today’s Toledo Blade:
Clinton, Biden call Jeep ad deceptive

Another in the Toledo Blade:
Obama campaign accuses Romney of dishonesty on Jeep issue

The Blade has been covering this story pretty aggressively, noting that Romney — who now claims Obama followed his approach on the auto-bailout — previously derided the rescue effort as “crony capitalism.”

The Cleveland Plain Dealer, meanwhile, published a scorching editorial with this headline:
Flailing in Ohio, Romney rolls out Jeep ploy
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...ca63574-227e-11e2-ac85-e669876c6a24_blog.html

Ouch. Stick a toothpick in Ohio. When you pull it out, there shouldn't be much cake on it. This one's baked.

And I have an unusually good feeling about the media calling-out Romney on his "relief" rally.

My wife posted a FB update stating "It irritates me to no end that many people assume those in need of social services and assistance are either lazy, drug addicts, or both." She got a whole bunch of "Likes" from family members who all support mandatory drug testing of welfare recipients.

This also actually highlights one of the advantages of the Electoral College, even if the chance of a material effect on the popular vote margin is slight. A mega-cane can wipe out the turnout on the highly populated Atlantic coast, a snowpocalypse could bury the turnout in the upper Midwest, the Big One could drop California's turnout into the Pacific, but what little turnout remains will probably give a result similar to if the turnout hadn't been Act-of-Godded.

What, exactly, is Obama not in their eyes?

-Muslim
-Supports gays
-Kills babies
-Destroys jobs
-Jew hater
-Communist
-Socialist
-Terrorist lover
-Kenyan
-Gun rights destroyer
-Car hating
-Antichrist

He is everything bad and nothing good.

I asked one of the idiots at my work what Obama would have to do for them to admit he did a good thing. "Kill himself, and even then he didn't do it soon enough."

I have to say, it's amazing to me that they have completely stopped suggesting that Romney is winning any swing states in their strategy memos. Their big hits in this memo are that Obama bought ad time in Minnesota and is sending Biden to PA. No actual references to Romney leading in any polls, because he mostly isn't.

Or we could just move the election date to accommodate people.

Karl Rove is really the worst thing to happen to the Republican party. His antics of dumbing down the message has gotten the Republicans terrible candidates.

Will conservatives ever get even keel candidates like George H.W Bush again? Who raised taxes, reneging on a campaign promise and showing some fortitude, unlike the clowns of late?

I was discussing this very thing with some people the other day. There are some advantages to the electoral college, and I feel this is a decent one.

To all the people complaining about Romney's campaigning - what would you have him do instead?

The guy has been running for president for 20 years. It's a couple of days out from the election - where he is only a point or two behind - and you expect him to just sit in his hotel room and watch Obama on TV?

It's not like Obama will miss a chance in the next few days to get a few good photo ops in.

How about not lie and say you are suspending your campaign due to hurricane Sandy, then hold a campaign event by calling it charity work?

Is not lying too much to ask?

Dude. Glenn Beck. No contest. Followed by Limbaugh. I'm not convinced Hannity believes what he says. I think he's just trying to make a buck.

You got it the other way round. Glenn Beck and Limbaugh don't believe what they say. Glenn Beck is even on record saying he's a court jester/doing it for the money (rolling stone interview). Limbaugh is rolling in so much piles of moneybags he doesn't even care what he says.

Sean Hannity, truly, fully, seriously believes with every fiber of his bone the filth he says. Along with that Bolling guy, Brian Kilmeade and Tucker Carlson.

Too much overlap with FSTDT.

They may actually already have a subsection for that...

This right here. Truth.

Hannity 100% believes what he says.

Wow, you're right. No mention of Romney even being tied in a single actual swing state.
