Resident Evil Requiem - Reveal Trailer | Releases February 27, 2026 for PS5, XBS and PC (Steam)

So after the reveal and the doubling down, this game's launch will either be the final nail in Dusk Golem's coffin or the greatest redemption story for an "insider"

Not keen on this

But this

Maybe it's the sweat but it just looks better.

I shit a solid gold brick when I realized what I was seeing.

My ONLY complaint is I'd say the graphics are slightly not as impressive as what I'd hoped, compared to something like Pragmata.

RE8 is good, first of all...

but even RE7 isn't comparable. Outlast has no combat for example and is 100% a stealth game and only a stealth game... a pretty bad one at that.

RE7 has light stealth elements in select scenes, while it usually is just a watered down first person RE1 wannabe. watered down puzzles, simple combat, interconnected map, boss battles.

it's RE1 in first person and worse. but it's not remotely comparable to Outlast, which has almost no design commonality with it.

Outlast = Walking Sim + Awful Stealth Game
RE7 = Watered down Action Adventure with light Survival elements.
RE1 = Action Adventure with Survival elements
Couldn't disagree more about RE8, but that's not important.

In RE7 you primarily run around, just like in outlast. You're also not killing a bunch of zombines, but mainly shoot at a couple of characters (excluding the god awful boat section at the end of the game where you're doing nothing else but shoot copy pasted black blobs), just like in Outlast. It's an Outlast wannabe, and it's weird to see this happen to RE, a franchise that inspired amazing titles such as Dead Space.

Why does this look like a PS4 game? What the fuck is going on this generation? How is Capcom at the top of their game financially and putting shit like this out? I'm not even looking for hyper realism, just evolve the goddamn facial animations and general lighting. Even compared to the remakes this looks like dog food.

Isnn't is strange to build it around side games? I bet many people have no idea who alyssa is and that racoon city was bombed.
I had to google it. I never played outbreak
On the other hand, one could be seeing this as potentially good news, because Capcom is acknowledging Outbreak, in both the teaser with the director, and in the reveal itself later on.

This means they could bring it back in some form to bring people up to speed.

Or even better, the multiplayer mode for RE9 will be an Outbreak mode.

So the "leaks" about Leon and some open world stuff was just bullshit?
I wonder if Capcom used these fake Leon and Jill shit to find out who leakers are.

Or did they just create those models for the play tests to confuse leakers lol.

I'm really glad they are going with a new lead. Pretty lady, classic RE areas, major update from past games visual wise. (The rain puddle in the city holy fuck)

Since it seems to be eluding to RE2, and the lead officer says she's the analyst, I'm assuming we will play as one other character.

It's either Leon or someone else. I think reapproaching the dual protagonist that made RE2 so popular is a great idea.
Leakers?

Dusk Gollem only leaked the stuff that appeared in the RE Village reveal trailer. Other than that all he said that wasn't copypasted from somewhere else about supposed RE Outbreak remake, RE4 remake, RE Revelations 3, RE1 re-remake, RECV remake, RE IX, Street Fighter V and Street Fighter 6 were all lies.

They are just personal guesses that he throws as supposed leaks end being wrong.

He must be banned as source for "leaks".

Really hope Leon or Clair or Jill would come back
They've done a damn good job teasing things in all Capcom fashion. Man it's been ages this pumped up.

I owe it to my little one waking me up seeing this come up, and man I am so damn pleased. My misses not so much lol

you shoot about as many enemies in RE7 as you do in RE1. Resident Evil started out as what was essentially a super classic adventure game, with typical "get item, combine item with item, use item at place" kinda design. the combat was essentially 1 enemy per room... sometimes 2 enemies per room. most rooms/areas were empty tho. and remember that in the original, they didn't come back either... so once you killed the 1 or 2 zombies in a room, they were gone for the rest of the game, and they were easy to trick as well, so you didn't even have to really fight them and just run around them to save ammo.

if you removed the already very scarce combat, you could legit turn RE1 into a point & click adventure.

RE7 emulated that exact design, but dumbed it down for modern audiences (most people that play games now are too retarded to solve even simple puzzles)

RE1 has a total of 50 to 60 enemies in the entire game...
I am pretty sure RE7 has more. the number I found is 70+ molded, and there are a few other types as well on top of that.

The person in the sofa seems to have a female haircut and face proportions. Plus curly and darker hair. The jacket may be a Leon reference, but that person doesn't seem to be the Leon.

In addition to this, while that picture is shown there's a guy talking -it isn't clear if it's the person in the sofa the one talking- but doesn't sound like Leon.

The difference is that you can kill them, while in RE7, just like in Outlast, you can't until a certain part of the game. That's not RE.

And all the enemies in RE7 were at the very last section of the game, the absolute worst part of the title. Not only were they ugly black blobs, but just firing at them was dull and boring. You compare that portion to the police station in RE2, and you ask yourself if Capcom became stupid or something worse.

FYI, folks are speculating (and I agree) that this Requiem monster is Alyssa, or what's left of her.

You can see the blonde shoulder length hair and she's got a torn red shirt/jacket on.

RIP Alyssa.

Maybe is her without makeup. You know, some girls do miracles

Unfortunately Alyssa got into meth.

World of Resident Evil is one crazy place!

Still cool we are playing as her daughter post the Raccoon City incident. Being a parent now I do love that angle of next generations and legacy taking the mantle while priors still are in.

Hoping to see Leon next as I bet that guy is going to look damn cool at his furthest age.

Praying we get some of that Sky Fortress 3.5 concept in this finally. It would be perfectly ripe for it all given.

This is the joy of having ganes set the furthest in continuation because of all the potential possibilities. You just can't beat that feeling.

Art design looked like hot garbage. Many of the textures were not in scale with one another so made things look off.

And the motion capture looked like someone with Parkinsons and was constipated was used.

Fuckin' finally completely new character which is not shit (I look at you RE7-8), a proper continuation of RE3's events and it's less than a year away. Count me the fuck in!

They did well with the skin appearing to hang just a bit from being upside down. Games be getting super realistic.

Where is Chris redfield? :(

In your bookmarks, apparently. 🙏

Also, just a small tidbit but the official website confirms this is a single player game, no co-op or MP modes. They might do a separate MP executable like RE:Verse, but nothing so far.

February has been a banging launch period for games these past few years. Glad that it's RE:9 continuing the charge.

Plus no one wants to go no way near GTA6 come May lol

I am interested. But... I don't want to give Capcom money after what they did (or rather failed to do) to Dragon's Dogma 2...
