What is bugged on Maplecrest?
Online this stage lags A LOT! And it's not just for me it's for a lot of people I play against. I know I have played some people before online so when I fight them again I know their general skill level. On Maplecrest everyone just seems to be either pressing random buttons or just not doing anything because its so laggy... at times it looks like the character is teleporting.

Q also lags on the stage, and it's very noticeable.

That stage has been giving them trouble since before even the beta release, IIRC. I think they try not to use it too much on Salty Cupcakes when showing new builds.

Finally managed to pull off a combo that lasted more than 6 hits. Actually starting to click for me, which is good since I'm pretty bad at fighting games.

Someone post a Valentine flowchart please.

MapleCrest can be pretty heavy, but the one that takes the cake is Final Atrium.

Do you know what would be great? The ability to turn certain stages off in random select in an options menu. I love getting the different environments, but I need to avoid Final Atrium like the plague.

Now you mention that, I remember playing a match in Maplecrest with a reasonable ping (~100) and things being really lag.

I realized today that I can run all stages in 60 fps except Final Atrium, which runs at ~50 fps, which definitely causes a lot of online problems. So I have to turn down the resolution in order to run it properly :|

Greeted with 2 NICE BLACK BARS woo hoo

How do you know the fps the game is running at? Did they add that tool in? *hopeful*

My FPS doesn't drop in Maplecrest, it's purely a lag issue. I don't really get any performance issues in Skullgirls. I also have 3D backgrounds turned off.

Quite damaging yes, but definitely not beginner friendly lol. Thanks for putting this notation down though, I always get styled on with this combo or a variation of it. This could help greatly if I can incorporate it into my game. Probably gonna be in the lab for hours just learning this one.

I'm having problem getting in with Parasoul, anyone have tips on good assist that will help Parasoul? For now I'm using Valentine, and I want to practice Parasoul. I seriously want to practice Parasoul so badly.

Dash forward, jump and then come in with a big normal. If you get off your motorbike and get them to block that will allow you to get in easily. Against projectiles you can use MK guy to block fireballs and then either toss fireballs yourself or use that opportunity to get in. Normally though I let them come to me as Parasoul, just within her big normals range and then I just pressure them.

Parasoul players usually play her with a lockdown assist. They make the opponent block with j.HK, call the lockdown assist then go for her high lows (forward + LP, forward + MP into st.H or back + HK).

Played this again today- I love the PC version, but the PC playerbase- I either body the folks who don't play fighters much, or I run into Skullgirls specialists, can't figure out which way to block, and look like a scrub. (usually it's Valentine/Filia players who do this to me)

Thinking some of that is my team, which is super-slow on attack speed, so I"m vulnerable to KOF-style hyperhop tactics.
I really should learn fortune just to have to DP.

What's her lockdown assist?

SolarPowered plays Parasoul in a zoning style with Cerebella Lock n Load HP assist. It has 2-hit Super Armor on it. Only going for big combo if you get close.

fixed :p

Not wanting to be that guy but it's not "Lockdown" it's Lock n' Load. It gets slightly confusing otherwise.

You're gonna have to learn flight cancels eventually.

So in order to better myself (because I really am not good at fighting games <_<) I've started focusing on the fundamentals. I was practicing some combo strings (which I'm still not that great at), but realized -- how can I even use one if I can't land a hit/am getting juggled?

... So back to AI with a focus on blocking (this right here I know is definitely one of my worst spots. I panic so I try to attack, which of course instead just lets my opponent hit me), poking, and proper dashing/air dashing...

Hm, true. I should expect to get my ass kicked, but I suppose it would be better via thinking people that I can watch how they play, than computer AI.
I do legitimately wish to improve myself.

Not knocking the combo, but I think the the other flow charts succeeded because there were clear branching points in the combo tree that led to intermediate and advanced combos. This combo just starts by going straight to the deepest end of the pool for the most optimal combo. There's just not that much information out there on a good starting point with Painwheel, is all. That's not your fault, Painwheel is just a very complex and execution heavy character.

I've been playing around with flight cancels already, just need a breakthrough since I've hit a wall of sorts.

Anyone up for matches?

I've recently been on the journey from super easy Painwheel combos to harder stuff, so I can help you a bit.

Here's the combo that took me 2 hours of training mode to figure out on my first day. It does weak damage, but it's pretty easy to do:
(aerial starter), c.LK, c.MK, c.HP, qcf.LP
s.LP, s.MP
j.MP, j.HP, j.HK

Once you get used to that, you can add this after j.HK:
c.LK, c.MK, s.HP, qcf.LK

This does some decent damage, and both enders give you a good reset position while being prime positions to connect a hyper with.

Here is the combo I am using right now; it is a "mid tier" combo in terms of difficulty and damage, but I can do it semi-consistently, and that's what matters:

(aerial starter), c.LK, c.MK, s.HP, fly
df.LK
c.MK, c.HP, fly
uf.HK
s.LP, s.MP
j.MP, fly
f.MK, j.HP, j.HK
c.LK, c.MK, s.HP, qcf.LP, qcf.LK

And then I either fly into j.LP to go for a reset, or I cancel qcf.LK into a hyper.

The really high end combos involve lots of links off of qcf.LK, and they take a lot of practice - I am still working toward that.

I hope that gives you some steps to walk up with Painwheel. She's a very fun character.

I was playing a session with a resident GAFer (GGs btw) and mid match my buttons stopped working. I could still walk but I could not press any of my attack buttons. Is this a known bug? How do I report it?

Yeah GGs Dahbomb.

His keyboard stopped working mid-match, he could move though, just not attack. Must've de-assigned his buttons to a null value?
