SW Outlaws tanks, Ubisoft is course correcting

Because reviewers don't really go below 5 for even terrible games. Score-flation. A 7.6 should be considered a 6 .5 at best.
Its actually even worse, concord which was beyond terrible got 62 metascore from reviewers https://www.metacritic.com/game/concord/ which is stark contrast to its 1,7/10 user score, tells u everything u need to know about how modern day reviews are given.

SW Out(F)laws was ubisoft's blockbuster with previewers(aka future reviewers) given free trips to disneyland, it being that alone made sure it could never get score below 6 no matter what since even most shitty game from big publisher got 62 overall.
https://www.metacritic.com/game/star-wars-outlaws/ 76 review score is obviously given despite its flaws, userscore only 5,4/10 which much more resembles quality of the game.

It's the only thing everyone talks about, from what I see it is a fun star wars game, reminds me of the first section of shadows of the empire.
Not in the ot where people are actually playing the game...
The game is rather mediocre, a focused stealth game with stealth mechanics worse than 15 (probably even 20) years old games.
The action is terrible, low weapon variety, meh gunplay and terrible enemy ia.

The best thing is being a super star wars fanboy if disney hasn't made you hate the brand already, and walking around the cities and planets that are well done, (but feel fake because there is barely any interactions with npcs).

The chick looking like manbat daughter is only noticeable during some cutscenes, it really is the last problem of this game, hell it is not even the more woke thing about it, the game is full of the modern tired woke tropes.

I'll buy it at a deep discount later.

I'll bet the actual reason for the wacky model is something dumb, but basic, like using an autorigger exclusively, without doing a manual edit of the model after applying the mocapped textures. Not doing manual passes is way faster, but the results tend to be shit.
Note that Asian (primarily Korean and Chinese, since they tend to have the largest output nowadays) games also use the autorigger; however, they have one notable advantage. Namely, hordes of poorly paid (thus, cheap) junior animators (a junior animator barely earns more than a basic QA tester, and QA is the lowest rung) to manually edit the models.

That's an interesting theory, but how can a company as large as Ubi employing thousands of people on a huge IP cheap out on something important like that?

Shivakamini Somakandarkram's model in Battlefront 2 looked like the actress.

Different (less-capable) teams? Shorter dev cycle (less time to work on details)? Who knows.

EDIT: Of course, this is somewhat irrelevant, since other areas of the game are also bad. Having stealth sections, in a game set in a world where "going loud" with pew-pew blasters is a fundamental part of the experience, shows a basic-level misunderstanding of the source material.

So are they going to improve the character model so she doesn't look like JaWbba the hut anymore?
just imagine the twitter backlash. But also at the same time, if they change the character model to look hotter, or even just look like the actress everyone on this forum should buy the game so it makes a statement. From "go woke, go broke" to "bring us the honey to get that money." #shakeitbaby

They should have just made it a Han Solo game. That probably would have doubled the sales by itself, then if they made sure to keep it from all Disney Soy Wars shit and intentionally distance from that. And I bet people at Ubi said that but they got drowned out; same as Concord.
