I mean that Nolan wanted more Batman Begins in TDKR (you) and Nolan was inspired by Peter Jackson (Sculli).

Oh.....

Not gonna rehash Nolan stuff again, but I really disliked a LOT of the decisions they made with AC. I thought AA was near flawless and easily the best superhero game ever, but AC took like 10 steps back for me.

Agreed to an extent. Really enjoyed AC but its too packed and crammed to deliver a satisfying story. Good fun seeing everyone come together though.

Just messed around with AC a minute ago and watching little brother play AA for the first time now.

AC was quantity over quality. And the best game last year was The Witcher 2.

Arkham Asylum felt like Metroid x Batman.

Arkham City was...well, it wasn't Metroid at all. Goddamnit. Still a good game, but not Metroid enough!! And the best game last year was Xenoblade (if you're in EU, which you're not. Fucking amazing game)

The Witcher 2 is a great game, but it can't touch AC. I am sick of people acting like Witcher 2 was so much better than anything that came out. There are so many technical issues in the PC version along its laughable.

uhh metroid? wtf?

Actually I can see what he's saying. It isn't the first time that analogy's been thrown around. AA gave you one defined environment, which slowly opened up with upgrades.

AC was a mess comparatively, structure-wise (plot-wise as well). It tried to tackle too much while accomplishing too little.

Still a great game though.

Meh. This isn't a car. lol

Watching BATMAN BEGINS again, and the whole scene where Ras reveals himself doesn't make sense. Why did Ducard make that one asian guy introduce himself as Ras, and how did the one lady simply walk away after hearing them talking about Bruce watching Ras die. The hell? Have the Nolans/Goyer ever answered that?

Lol, you just made me picture Ras looking at various backs of heads trying to find the perfect fake Ras head shape to trick Bruce for a split second.

It's the little things.

Would we get banned if we legitimately spammed scullis many OT threads when he gets back?
Like a sculli front page.

So I'm not crazy by being underwhelmed with AC? I've bought the game three times because people keep telling me how amazing it is and I keep feeling "wrong" about not owning it, but man, every time I get it I just can't find the motivation to play it whereas I burned AA the fuck up.

Far from the best game of 2011 IMO. Far from it.

The one weird thing in Batman Begins is that everyone calls him "Raz al gool". Despite the fact that I'm pretty sure everyone thought that's how you pronounce it (including me for a long time), you would think DC would be a little more strict about proper pronunciation for a pivotal Batman character.

No. AA is leaner, meaner, tighter and better. AC was a lazy sequel that simply followed the path of most lazy sequels. More of everything/"Bigger and better!" =/= good game design.

I like old Jeph Loeb. Hush was crap.

Grant Morrison's run on Batman and the first 16 issues of BnR were perfection. It really doesn't get much better than that.
Dude yeah. Batman & Robin is one for the all time greatest bat books I think.

BB and TDK are both too good to get me in one of the "greater than sign" moods, but yeah, B:AA>B:AC

That's the correct pronunciation. The Animated Series used a different one so they didn't speak Arabic in the show, since having an Arabic terrorist on a kid's show isn't PC or something.

Yeah that's a great way to sum up my feelings as well. I liked the outdoor atmosphere, but I felt that the gameplay and combat were overly convoluted. Not a bad game by any stretch and I did beat it, but again just very underwhelming compared to its predecessor. The Metroid comparisons being made are spot-on and probably why I enjoyed AA so much.

So I'm rewatching TDK and I have a question: Did the Joker flip the addresses? Or did Bruce change his mind and go after Dent? I don't think it's ever clearly said, and Bruce says he's going after Rachel, but I kinda remember a line about Harvey being more important....

Joker flipped the addresses. He had a feeling Bats would go for Rachel so to fuck with him he sent him to Dent instead.

Joker flipped the addresses.
