Finally checked out Tsujiri yesterday, lineup wasn't longer than a Tim Horton's, I went at around 7:30pm. I had a matcha latte and a matcha ice cream. Not cheap, but the were pretty tasty and unique. Not used to caffeine though, so it definitely gave me a whoosh.

Heh. I doubt it was the caffeine and likely more the sugar.

I really need to get off my duff and watch that show.
John Tory said:
We uncovered details of the decisions taken by prior administrations to rack up huge amounts of debt in an account called "Unfinanced Capital".
...
In 2013 alone, some 300 million dollars was added to this account.
When I learned of this account, the total unfinanced capital - that means undeclared debt - had reached nearly one billion dollars.

Posted this is the Deals thread, had no idea this thread existed!

Just a heads up, the Scotia Bank Theatre in Toronto has tickets available for the Overwatch Launch Celebration (showing off OW animated shorts, a mini-doc of Blizzard discussing the game's lore, and some OW "swag"). It read as Sold Out for days now (I watched for Canadian dates, and when I finally saw some, this one was sold out), so I'm happy to see I can go now.

Oh shit just got mine. I checked yesterday and they were sold out. Thanks for the heads up

Thanks man. How do I get into the other kinds of education you mentioned? Should I do my post-grad? I dont even know how I can do that anymore. The education consultant bit sounds great. I didnt even really know about that.

I feel like Im wasting my life. I feel like Im such a disappointment. Im sorry for bringing all this up in this thread, just felt the most relevant. I genuinely dont know if I want to be in the classroom anymore as I hate seeing these teachers look so stressed, hopeless, and still try to keep a positive spirit with a classroom full of people who dont appreciate it. This isnt every classroom of course, but I also worry about politics and curriculum, and marking and parents. I want to care, but I wonder how many people truly do. Everybody my age says they have the passion, and I feel bad that it feels like Im second guessing myself. I believe I can be a good teacher. I wonder if Im just depressed. It took a year to just get hired, and even still, Im doing Spec Ed and other on-call work. I hate myself a lot for it.

People from my culture and family are also into sciences, business, etc. I hate myself for doing a B.A and I hate that I listened to mentors who encouraged me to continue in my B.A work because they saw "potential" in me.
Necro bump!!!

If we haven't scared you off yet, just an example that I looked on LinkedIn and saw Learning and Development Specialist for Shoppers Home Health Care.

Shit like dis.

Anyways, back to job search...

Thanks for the heads-up. I may make the trek up to Toronto for this.

Reposting this from the Canada deals thread as someone suggested, since it is taking place in Toronto:

Hi there guys, haven't been on GAF in almost a year.

I'm in a bit of a pickle, I have an extra VIP ticket for the Hatsune Miku concert in Toronto tomorrow that I really need to unload, and I'm really not in the mood for playing scalper in front of the venue.

So yeah, PM me if interested. Current asking price would be $150 but I'm willing to bargain. The ticket will be transferred via ticketmaster.ca, have an account ready.

EDIT: Sold!

Huh I think I forgot to order my Miku concert ticket. Even though I was sitting at that checkout screen for however long, I must have not placed the order. The mad dash from work to downtown, bleh

Okay things are looking bad.

But not like we didn't expect this. At least 2 more games to go in front of our great fans, the long weekend will be turnt up for this. Hope the Raps can get some energy from it.

Will QA for food.
I expected to lose, but I had a slight hope we wouldn't be crushed quite as badly. Lowry destroyed Cleveland during the regular season. I talked myself into 5 games, but I probably should have stuck with the sweep.

Corrected as per kave_man:

BJs went to the American League Championship Series

Leafs got 1st overall

Raptors went to the NBA Eastern Conference Finals.

Marlies get to the Conference Finals

It's weird though, don't get me wrong I'm upset about these losses but I'm not as hurt about them as I thought I'd be.

That or I'm saving my rage for the offseason when we can all start fistfighting over who we need to keep and trade.

Yeah, there's not really much to be upset about. They're a tired group, sans a key piece in JV, playing an incredible and rested team with one of the top 10 NBA players of all time. There's no shame in losing to that squad, though not getting completely blown out would be nice. And at least one win on home court would be amazing.

At the end of the day, they achieved a 50+ win season, two series wins (again, one achieved without a key piece in Jonas) and we have a top ten fucking pick in the draft coming up. Anyone out there crying about things after the truly atrocious seasons we suffered through under Babcock and High Collars Colangelo needs a slap in the face.

All that to say that this is indeed the beginning of amazing times in #TorontoSports.

The Leafs will draft Auston Matthews to add onto the future core of Nylander/Marner/Reilly. We will sign Stamkos. We will probably still be somewhat bad this coming year. But that's fine. Cheaper ticket prices to watch the stars of tomorrow, develop today. That bandwagon will pile on so hilariously fast in this city, just you watch.

The Marlies, like the Raptors, are also in the ECF themselves, but actually have a chance to beat their opponent in Hershey.. They're the talk of the town now, the RICOH is buzzing (I can attest to this having been there for games 6/7 last round) and their games will be shown on TSN now! All that for an AHL team that we once collectively forgot about when they were out in St. John's.

Our beloved Jays are middling so far, but we will improve once the weather heats up. Devon Travis will come back from injury to lead off and provide the crucial offensive spark that'll jumpstart this so-far moribund season. Don't count them out yet!

TFC, finally a good and complete team for the first time in franchise history, will make the playoffs going away and will put up a good fight all year. Enjoy watching Seba in his prime run rings around the rest of the league. What an astoundingly good player. We're fortunate to have a true league-wide superstar on our team.

The Argos get to play in BMO now and we'll finally get true tailgate experience in Toronto! We can only hope for a level of stupidity on par with what goes down in Buffalo. (google Bills tailgate, if you don't know. or watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiM2_Va8h-k )

And the Rock weren't very good this year, but they've held it down for us when everyone else was garbage. So they get a pass.

Anyway, things are indeed looking good for us TO-Sportsfans. We suffered through some rough fucking times all-around, so you can't say we don't deserve this upcoming period of relative tranquility.

The Leafs Tankaku has damaged me, so I've been expecting Raptors losing, and when they didn't and won the last two series, it's been better than ever.

Now the Raps are getting beaten down by the Cavs...but I'm still optimistic that they'll get at least one win.

Remember this friend, even when the Raps are getting blown out we managed to ruin the NBA's plan of Wade vs. Bron.

Plus we got the Heat fans all salty about losing to us.

When the team is good.
Someone call the fire department...! Dis burn...!

I wonder if the leagues could even take a Canadian team winning it all ever again. NBA/NHL/MLB/MLS. Granted, besides hockey, we're the only city with teams from those other leagues, but Canada hasn't has a lot of luck in a long ass time.

Blue Jays two time World Series winners
Canadiens Stanley Cup

And that's about it. I don't see the Raptors winning it all when there are freakin juggernauts in the NBA. The Leafs are slowly rebuilding and will make it to the playoffs someday but it's hard as fuck for even good teams to win. TFC, Campino has a lot of hope for them; I don't know enough myself, but I hope they do well. I think the Jays' best chance was last season, and I'm not confident in this front office, but who knows what'll happen?

Arguably the most experienced back line in the league, a talented keeper, strong midfield and the league's reigning MVP leading the charge. Altidore has hamstrings made of paper, so the attacking depth is mostly made up of speedy kids, but they have a real chance this year.

They are no longer the dumpster fire they used to be.

Something's happening at yonge Dundas. There are a ton of cops and loud music. Does anybody know what it is?
Edit: turns out somebody tried to steal from lcbo and decided to fight the cops.
