World of Final Fantasy |OT| Lightning Inside

The japanese VA is excellent but the dialouges are pretty bland. Been switching between the two.

Top of the page edit:
Any tips to the catch Cactuar??

Use something that doesn't let it run away like a Right Claw and run around with the Lure Mirajewel at the last screen before the save point right near the exit so you can see the Cactuar statue. I managed to catch one and kill 3 like this in about 20 minutes, if.

I shouldn't be surprised the
Quacho queen
was humanoid but I sorta am. I wish the Kings and Queens and Princesses were varying heights so I could make stacks with them. They're all so adorbs.

does the encounter rate go up? I'm trying to run outside of new dudes to counteract some overleveling, and fuuuuck.
Big Bridge
is the worst

...I had a "lure" mirajewel on. I'm not sure why I didn't look up the effects until I found the stealth gem. I think I found it in the
Mako
area which didn't have random encounters.

Nerfing the bejesus out of my duders so I can do the right/left hand stacks. Ugh. Why middle size monsters so OP, going chibi is awful.

If you managed to pick up a werebat, it gets really good stats in magic and evasion rate. I used that and Zapt as my small mirages until I managed to transfig a
Death Searcher
, which is OP for a small.

Got a question about length, I've been playing slowly over the last couple of days and am already at Chapter 8, it seems chapters just keep coming up rapidly. Is this game short?

And I was really looking forward to this game...

Dammit, USPS. Well, guess that's just more time to decide between dub and sub.

I'm always really fastidious about backing up saves, and when I backed up last night I must have auto-piloted and accidentally copied over my older usb save onto my system save.

I'd been through three areas since then, and levelled up mirages... annnnd I'm back at Nibelheim.

all my lovely little mirages

gone

like a plastic bag in the wind

Sigh. Back to the Valley, I guess. At least I hadn't caught anything rare.

The chapters get a little longer as you go on, and there's
21
of them. It's not long or short. And if you want to go for the side content it's certainly a packed title.

I've had a similar thing happen to me a couple times in my lifetime involving going through a large dungeon, getting to the boss and save point right before, and then accidentally selecting "load" instead of "save." The despair. I usually have to end the session right there after having the frustration exhaust me.

Has anyone noticed that stronger spells seem to have diminishing returns? I haven't run the numbers exactly, but just eyeballing it feels like the damage difference between a Fire and a Fira isn't worth it with your AP and how it regens. Seems like it's better to just cast Fire for more turns. Bit different for the -all spells as they cost more by defaul.

Yeah I was just thinking about that earlier but with the top tier spells. For how much they cost it is usually better to just go with the lower tier version unless you need to finish something quickly.

Awesome, thanks, I'm planning on going for the platinum. So I'll be investing quite a bit of time into this game.

Spent about 2 hours last night getting Fritt and Zapt from the secret area of the Nether Nebula. During that time I encountered 2 Fritts, 1 Zapt and 0 Bablizzes. Luckily I chose to fight Shiva earlier so I already had a Bablizz. Had my Right Claw with the No Escape ability and a single Thunder attack item to use on Zapt. I'm pretty sure I've captured every monster available so far but none of them had thunder available without transfiguring.

My party's all around level 26 now though. I like being strong so it's OK.

I was all excited that I figured out how to get to that area with my mirages and then got rekt by the first battle, guess going there at lvl 10 was a bad idea LOl

What does make a big difference is the Enhanced [Element] skills. It feels like they're something like +33% and stack.

All of the dungeons in the game felt too short, until the train graveyard lol, that dragged. Especially since I kept running into the same group of enemies

The guide is telling me I can net a ton of XP early on by going and capturing that Princess Goblin after the two WoL quests, but I can't find her anywhere. She's not in the area the guide says (just outside Cornelia), or anywhere on the Watchplains best I can tell.

Am I just totally missing something?

I found her next to the road outside Cornelia, but she is so ridiculously OP (like 30k hp or something with one hit KO attacks) that I can't imagine anyone beating her early.

Throw blind item.
Attempt to imprism until you die/catch.

You can do it for a lot of mirages in the coliseum too, but won't get EXP obviously. Over leveling isn't a big deal anyway, just makes an easier game easier.

At the icecle ridge just near the entrance, there is a path to the north marked with green on the map. How are you supposed to get there?? I couldn't find a way to go down there.

You return there later in the storyline apparently. It was frustrating me too. Spent a while trying to figure out how to get there.

I think they should have scaled the fights in this. With some of the spawn rates so absurdly low, you can make the entire game a cakewalk for yourself if you spend too much time trying for a spawn.

Nerfing myself with overly shitty mirages just so I feel again.

(Mirage question):
Is Left/Right hand combo eventually worth it? It's super neat, but mine are pretty ass even with the combo boost skills for having the partner mirage in the group.

So not to keep on about the OST, but would Playasia be the best place to buy it?

I've purchased tons of items from Play-Asia and a few from CDJapan. Never had an issue with either. Looks like CDJ has this OST $7 cheaper though.

Yeah my Lann is like six levels higher than Rey because I imprismed the Flan princess on my first encounter with her. Staggered the stack, imprismed the Marlboro using status items and then killed the rest of my party to imprism the Princess. I did one regular attack just for funsies and I was clearly super underleveled, but the imprism conditions were easy. So Lann, as the only member of the party, got 100% of a ton of EXP and it's so frustrating in a tiny way.

So I just caught the unique Princess Goblin. How is she compared to the Princess Goblin that you can transfigured from the regular Goblin? Is she doomed to be weaker since she doesn't have the carryover stats from the other forms, or is her mirage board different to compensate?

Most mirage boards aren't unidirectional. Can't you unlock Guard and Gob boards from the Princess board?

Speaking of Metal Gear Solid...

I haven't done exact stat comparison, but the unique mirages have much bigger mirage boards than their non-unique counterparts to at least partially compensate.

Most mirage boards aren't unidirectional. Can't you unlike Guard and Gob boards from the Princess board?

Unique mirages (star in the name) have different mirage boards, and no access to earlier forms.

I did the exact same thing, but I was curious why Lann was so much higher than Rey. Now I know. There's no way to catch her up without having her one man some dungeons for like an hour, and I don't care that much...

Game needs more Cid. I hope there's some tea room shenanigans with him.

I feel a bit cheated. I bought the guide book for this game, my first time buying one, and it has misinformation.
It's pretty disappointing considering how difficult the actual requirements are for this.

It's not wrong, it's just not complete. XD
