Well yeah guess what? You're not playing well enough to break the tie, so you're not gonna break the tie. Who'd've thought? Weird huh? Don't let them cap the freaking point!
The whole point of the mechanism is to make it so you don't cap the point, hold it for a measly 2 seconds and score a victory with the other team having no chance whatsoever of a breakthrough because there's only so much you can do in 2 seconds. So the lower your remaining timer, the higher the penalty points! If you think it's unfun this way, imagine how it will be breaking an enemy's hold, and then they cap the point, and before you've even realised they've capped the point they win instantaneously.
