Explaining Gman doesn't seem like Valve's style. They love leaving mysterious, unexplained characters as mysterious and unexplained. Or if they do give a bit more about them, they do it via comic that has an open end, so the player has to fill in what they think happened.

trust me i want half life more than most. I've played richochet unlike 99% of people who make joke i've played codename gordon opposing force anything involve valve i have touched. We just have to wait, it sucks but people just have to accept it

The only way it's going to happen is if people are vocal about it and stop spending all their disposable income on stupid weapon skins and characters. Valve has no incentive to work on their core franchises when so many people are willing to spend god knows what on a digital knife with stripes/hearts/stars/cats on it.

If your going to release Half-Life 3 at this point that point sounds like how you do it. No marketing or build up, just finish the game and release it with no build up. The hype cycle has gone on too long. All the procedural stuff sounds very Valve. That post sounds kind of legit.
