Or maybe they just like the music. It's cool if you don't like it but it didn't come across as pandering to me. Most 80s music is pretty gay to begin with.

I assumed that last part is either gameplay, or pretty close to it (what they are going for in the final game). It makes sense as it'll fit in with other Sony SP narrative third person action games.
Cuckman did exactly what he wished to do .. its a bold strategy i hope it pays out for themProbably because there is no final gameplay to show yet. CGI trailer with zero or very minimal gameplay always denotes that they haven't got enough actual game to show.
Would have been a better idea to wait until they could have provided a vertical slice, to go along with the trailer. They would obviously have been aware that the character design would have been controversial. A gameplay sequence might have mitigated a lot of the critical reception.
I guess they just didn't care about it.

Why not just add multiple skins for people to choose from at the get go so they can pick how they want to see their character. Or make a main design character and also give people the option to create their own character instead?
It's true. Initially I hated Concord's character designs. But after enough people called me an incel and a CHUD and told me how the game lives RENT FREE in my head, well, their appeal really grew on me.
