Amiibo (Nintendo Figurines) - Wallets be Damned, Buying Them All!

EDIT: DID WE JUST GET A CONFIRMATION ABOUT SMASH BROS WII U RELEASE MONTH?
store.nintendo.co.uk/amiibo/villager-no.9/10993681.html
Villager No.9
Release Date: November 2014
They edited it back to Winter. I wish they would just give us the Direct to confirm for November already...

Edit: Accidental double post, sorry!

I've seen, thank you. But it seems an offer, I still hope for an official announcement of the price more in line with the Amazon.fr one, honestly
My wallet definitely agrees!

Oh and by the way, I wouldn't mind if Amazon.it price matched that, to save on shipping costs :p

Waiting on a real release date. I don't like making purchases before knowing that.
But I really want Yoshi! (And eventually Little Mac, Pac Man and Mega Man)

This was posted yesterday but I haven't seen it anywhere else on GAF.

I really hope the final products look that nice.

If the figures I've seen at the July Post E3 Nintendo event were pre-production samples, they do look that good.
I work in the toy business, and was amazed by the details (materials chosen, spray refinements, poses)

Is Samus wearing a corset? Her waist looked small in Prime because of the exaggerated shoulders ('80s padded shoulders business suits!) whilst here it just looks small. Could be the photos.

If I had a kid I'm sure I'd buying these.

Edit: It was the photo. Looks pretty good.

These are two different pics of Samus amiibo: I think it is the Other M design, and I really like it. Way better in terms of proportions than the Prime one.
I think that the small waist is somehow pretty "classic" for Samus, while in Prime they over exagerated the shoulders

Samus' waist is extremely thin in the Other M Figma. The Amiibo waist is a little more natural looking.

I will buy them all. Maybe 1 at a time when were near a toy store. There is no way I could avoid these being mine. All mine.

not the same, but I've found even more pics, from EB Expo (Australian videogame expo):

Thanks for this.

Anyone have guesses as to when Nintendo will announce a release date? I mean, the launch must be imminent given all of the marketing that is starting to fall into place. What are they waiting for? Same question goes for the release date of Smash Wii U as they will probably drop at or around the same time.

If they go through the entire Smash roster like I know they will, I'm going to lose so much money. Hope they don't mind me keeping, say, Captain Falcon or the Duck Hunt Dog on my desk.

November 21. Probably. Maybe.
And now confirmed.

Here are the relevant bits from the press release:
Nintendo said:
o keep the momentum going, Nintendo has unveiled the launch date of the Wii U version of the fighting game. The Super Smash Bros. for Wii U game will launch in North America on Nov. 21, just in time for the heart of the holiday shopping season, at a suggested retail price of $59.99. The first wave of Nintendo’s interactive amiibo figures will launch the same day at a suggested retail price of $12.99 each. Twelve iconic Nintendo characters will be included in the first wave, with a second wave of six more figures set to launch in December.

As previously announced, the first wave of amiibo includes Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Link, Fox, Samus, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Pikachu, Kirby and Marth. The second wave that launches in December includes Zelda, Diddy Kong, Luigi, Little Mac, Pit and Captain Falcon.

The amiibo figures can interact wirelessly with compatible games in unique new ways, providing fresh game-play experiences and a great value for consumers. Players simply need to tap them to the Wii U GamePad controller to activate them, and some figures offer compatibility across multiple games – no additional equipment is required. Fans can buy and collect amiibo, to bring them closer to the games and characters they love. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will support amiibo when it launches on Nov. 21, and upcoming amiibo compatible games include Mario Party 10 and Yoshi’s Woolly World, with more to come. Mario Kart 8, available now in stores and the Nintendo eShop, will also support amiibo in the future. A software update may be necessary to use amiibo functionality for these and other amiibo compatible games in the future.

Already pre-ordered!

Will be pre-ordering as soon as they're available for pre-order!
I'm kind of torn on how I want to go about shopping for these. On one hand, I have the impulse to just pre-order all of them; on the other hand, I think it will be more fun to buy them piecemeal over a period of a couple of months.

Also, I think it might take some fun out of process if I just pre-order them online. I think it might be more fun to shop for them in-store.

where is my bayonetta amiibo

I don't think we'll see third party stuff in the amiibo line. it was created to stress and exploit Nintendo brand awarness.

Btw, PAL release of Smash should be Dec 5, right? With 18 amiibos ready to be used.
That second wave is hurting hard...I can barely resist to Zelda, Pit, Falcon and Little Mac....

I really want Kirby. Such a huge pink blob :D
I wanna see them in real life first before really deciding, Samus also looks gud.

Hoping a Toon Link amiibo is coming soon.

I want every single amiibo but I can't do that, so I'm going to limit myself to Mario, Sonic, Mega Man and Pac-Man. So I'm waiting for the third-party characters now.

once again, we absolutely don't know if there will be third party characters.
amiibo was created to exploit Nintendo characters and franchises.

I still only want Samus and Zelda.

well, zelda was announce right now in the second wave, so basically you NOW want Samus and Zelda, not "still" ;p

Sweet... My email inbox just blew up with a bunch of emails from Best Buy saying the "release date has changed" for all of my Amiibo pre-orders. November 21st, why aren't you now?!

I pre-ordered everyone in the first wave today (along with the game + controller bundle). I would have also pre-ordered the second wave, but they weren't in the stores system. I hope they're in there when I go pick up the game on release date.
