Or don't like pop music and don't care.

The ignorance brag thing is pretty banal of the internet but pathetic...? Dude, half of us are probably in our 30s and don't care about vapid trash pop.

Hey Mr Superior music tastes! Wait until you have kids.

I'm 43 and we'll versed in Ms Grande's output, and its all perfectly serviceable disposable popular music, which is at it should be.

I played Brave Exvius before it was cool ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
The unit will probably be super strong so I welcome it, haha.

Brave Frontier (also by Gumi*) had the vocaloids as colab characters: http://bravefrontierglobal.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Vocaloids

FFBE is basically a similar game done in the FF style. FFBE has a lot of elements I despise** but I imagine Ariana Grande will be given out in an event instead of a gacha unit. Then again the FFBE gacha system is essentially a callous burnt bridge policy.

*-If you think there are too many FF f2p games this is why, the brand appears to be licensed out. FF Mobius I think is Square-Enix itself though. FFBE is Gumi, FFRK is DeNA, Koei Tecmo have one coming and there plenty of others.
**-FFBE sure is pretty though (even if some sprites could do with more frames) and I'd love for those sprites to find new use elsewhere in something more interesting (like how FFRK was born from the sprite work for FFATB).

The amount of edge lords in here pretending not to know someone

I didn't know who she is. I'm 39, not interested in pop or celebrities, and don't live in the US. Assuming that anyone who says they don't know her are pretending is a bit myopic of you, isn't it?

My exact reaction. Is this... is this what getting older is?

Perhaps, but for me getting older feels like getting a reference to a 1973 cartoon; case in point:

She's even a FF character in her clips:

If that's a reference to anything, it's to this:

I actually think it's the exact opposite, everything these celebrities do is readily available for the whole world to see thanks to the internet and specially social media, they are getting more attention/ (free) marketing than ever.
For example; the Kardashians are utterly irrelevant here on Dutch television but thanks to social media and other sites they're being put on the spotlight.

But that's how I see it though.

You assume everyone uses Facebook which many people don't care about and with twitter you choose who you follow anyway.

Plus since marketing loves to exaggerate everything people learned to ignore most of that noise so while complete ignorance is rare case it's perfectly possible to not know music from those artists.

It's just preparing us for when FFXVI stars real world celebrities.

New edition of FFXV-2 in the making :D

I lived in Japan for yeeeeears and never heard of her popping up. The only time I ever read/heard about her was US stuff.

Also, this thread is killin' it!

Kids should be listening to Motörhead and not pop. Lemmy loved the children!

Our car playlist is nothing if not eclectic.

In between Disney songs, we've got Raining Blood & South of Heaven, mid-00s techstep D&B and....every duck based nursery rhyme you can think of.

I see the thread has turned into PopGaf. God, that place is terrifying.

I like your playlist. Never been a fan of Slayer, but a list that can combine Disney, SLLLLAYYYYYYYEEEEERRRRRR and electronic music is good.

And PopGAF is indeed a scary thing. I mean, there are PopGAFfers who genuinely believe Lady Gaga is still relevant.

Im downloading it! Didn't know Square still did a sprite based game.

Yep, it's very good, it's also very similiar to classic ff with the menus and it also has summons and spells.
story is not bad either. and you have multiple characters join you throughout the story aside from the classic ff chars you can pull from gacha

Are the people asking "who?" trolling or actually serious?

like I know her primary audience is teenage girls, but have you not heard of people like Justin Bieber or Rihanna either?

Do paying these stars ludicrous amounts to promote your game actually work? Everytime I hear about this company some fuckery is going on.

She impressed me when she hosted SNL, she's very very talented.

Wow, she's Italian. I figured she was Latina (they made a joke about this during her SNL appearance, figured it was just for the laughs). The more you know. She's kind of a jerk though from what I've heard. Total opposite with fans than Lady Gaga.

you should also check out record keeper which is apparently a bit more generous with its in game currency!

Both are pretty much the same in that regard. I haven't spent a dime on either of them and I've got a top party in Brave Exvius with well over ten six-star units (not even counting units that are six stars in the Japanese version), and like a (literal) hundred different characters from most FF games. From FFVI alone (my favorite) I have several copies each of Terra, Celes, Cyan, Locke, Edgar, Sabin, Shadow, General Leo, Kefka, Wedge and Biggs, plus the Magitek Armor Terra given as a launch bonus. I find Exvius superior in every possible regard to RK: units come complete with their own skills and spells rather than the utterly boring blank units + skills of RK, it has an actual story with actual explorable maps both dungeons and cities), and visually it's simply no contest at all.

It's one of these cases where I can't think why one would still play RK, let alone get into it now. I'm sure it has people that like it more than Exvius (I mean, what doesn't?) but still, I can't think of a reason besides having already invested too much to switch.

Agreed with this, brave exvius is much better then RK in every single way.

They are not even cheaping out on currency or summon tickets they give for free

Man why some people try to act so hard?
By any meanings Ariana it's a shitty artist. She probably has one of the best voices on mainstream music (Not far from what Mariah Carey used to do). It's like saying the Weeknd it's shit just because it appeal to bast majority of the people.

And to be honest, if you don't know who she is, either you don't go out of your home often or you leave in a nutshell with no internet cause it's not possible to not know who she is if you are somehow interested in music (even if it's indie or similar).

I don't care about much of the mainstream artist and just by searching for my underground rappers, rock bands or mc's albums and info I cross path with most of their names...
