Maybe so, but your candidate ain't winning new voters with his shit wordsmithing tonight.

Bernie is so popular with white Democrats that a comment like that won't do much. He needs to whatever he can to secure support among voters of color, although his attempts today haven't all been graceful

When are we going to quit fucking around and get to the part of the debate where the candidates talk about Wall Street?

I just tuned in and the first thing I see is Bernie saying I VOTED AGAINST WALL STREET

If this was a drinking game...

Guys the wall Street hammering isn't for us, it's for state viewers

Plus it's worth repeating endlessly because all our problems are tied to it

Hillary: "So yeah, the welfare bill would have been great if it weren't for Republicans. But on the other hand, remember the last time a Clinton was president? Let's do that again."

It's a good response.

You can't make the case that the Clinton's in the 90s didn't care about poor black people when incomes went UP for those very same people during his presidency.

If Bernie gets to invoke Bill's failures as president to attack Hillary, she damn sure can invoke his successes.

Oh, I know but I'm talking specifically about Bernie's reference about D.C. twenty years ago. D.C. wasn't always a great place to live. I'll say D.C. cops are also don't have the same excessive force and systemic discrimination policy that other metro cities have these days.
Probably because they don't have a ton of white people as constituents.

This election year Purge ad is SO FUCKED UP.

"An economic boom happened to coincide with my husband's presidency" is much worse than Bernie's Wall Street pivots

Not really. You are correct to note that presidents don't have much control over the economy but it's not like Bernie is challenging that idea either. His entire campaign is based on the idea that he can fix the economy with socialism!

By contrast, there are actually like a million problems that WALL STREET is not the correct answer to. Bernie would be a terrible Trivial Pursuit player.

So u want him to spend 4 yrs fighting for health care again when it's easier to work on improving obamacare.

I'm not sure if Obamacare should be fixed. It's a great short-term solution to give poor Americans access to some healthcare before a public option is available.

I thought that you can't solve the problems of black America through purely economic solutions?

I'm watching CNN International, so commercial breaks for me are just stock quotes and world weather reports. Do you guys have a youtube link for the movie trailer you're all talking about?

Well, it also helps that the federal government sits right there along with the President who can come down hard on that bullshit. Plus, it's or capital and thus a tourist city can't have nasty cops shooting everything that poses a "threat."

Oh so Bernie wants to build on Obama's record on race relations but start over on healthcare despite 90% coverage. Okay bro

We have better coverage now, but now we also have things like spousal penalties, higher prices, the Medicare gap, and the insurance industry posting record profits.

It's okay to admit Obamacare sucks, it's not all his fault, it's mostly due to obstruction, but pretending it's something it's not just makes you look uninformed.

Bernie def missing some opportunities... Instead of always weakly going to Wall street.. he should instead mention how money corrupts other issues.

for profit prisons
NRA
etc.

If he mentions the NRA then all of a sudden it's an attack on himself. No way does he shoot himself in the face. No one is that dumb.

Did Hillary even address the Superpredator remark in any detail or did she just deflect it with other shit?

She said "I was wrong, I should not have said it, I would never say it again."

I mean...that's pretty comprehensive? What were you looking for, exactly?

exactly. Bill pressed the "good economy" button and then pulled the "improve black incomes" lever.

A lot depends on what defines economic health. Is GDP shrinkage acceptable if it's met with a massive decrease in poverty? it all depends on priorities.

Her comment about super predators had nothing to do with drug cartels. What a liar.

It literally did, though.

Hillary Rodham Clinton said:
We also have to have an organized effort against gangs, just as in a previous generation we had an organized effort against the mob. We need to take these people on, they are often connected to big drug cartels, they are not just gangs of kids anymore. They are often the kinds of kids who are called superpredators. No conscience. No empathy. We can talk about why they ended up that way but first we have to bring them to heel. And the president has asked the FBI to launch a very concerted effort against gangs everywhere. In addition to that, he has appointed a new drug czar.

But why bother to fact check when you can call someone a liar.

It's so crazy how Hillary (or any skilled politician really) can rephrase something someone is/wants to do and people will just nod and eat it up.

Hillary is definitely a bit sharper and saavy.
Her defense and deflection is better.

She has weaknesses, but solid defense.
Bernie doesn't always find the weakspot and his defense is bad.
